I also fiddled around with the approach altitudes (60-500 m) and could not see any difference. Would be a pity if the disabled the VALB functions but that explains it then. Hope they reintroduce it soon.

Cool video and an extraordinary work from HB! Q: Will the F-14 get a pilot body before release?
-
Thanks! Interesting. I also experienced the same drift when I tried out the BK-90 some time ago. Corrected with taking new coordinates but probably had the same issue with wind as you. Did you just input the wind and strength and instead of confirming with LS/SKU you confirmed with the target waypoint (e.g. B3)?

Thanks for your efforts! I didn't get it to work and I just conclude that the system does not work according to the manual/procedures. I don't get the correct symbols/color either. I checked your track file but honestly it's hard to follow as you don't see the mouse but never mind. Let's hope that Heatblur fix the recon mode soon.

Once you go VR there is no going back. Sure, the resolution is a bit lower but the immersion is incredible. What would you prefer, sitting behind a crisp screen in your house or flying for real but with a diving mask on? :smilewink: For me the choice is very simple.

Thanks for your excellent work!

I did. They are the same as always and I can make a navigation fix in NAV mode which is the same keys so seems to be something with SPA. Please recheck, I'm on the latest OB.
-
I just tried the SPA mode again after some months away from it. It seems that now it's not possible to record targets anymore. The T1/TV function doesn't work in SPA mode. Therefore not much use of the recon functions at all atm. This worked before the summer though.

** AJS-37 Viggen Update! New Afterburners & Features! **
frosen replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
I thought the reworked AB etc. was due for today according to the original post and what you write above. Do we have to wait another two weeks? What is happening? :( -
Hitting the manual fuel regulator doesn't help this, the AB still stops around that altitude. Furthermore, I haven't been able to find something in the module manual or the real manual that indicates that as a procedure/solution. That is, this looks like a bug and nothing else.
-
Has this been picked up by the devs as a feature to fix yet? Would be cool to be able to target something without continuous radar emmitance.
-
I think the switch on the left side of the seat (just below the left ejection handle) is for seat adjustment although it's not working now. I agree it would be good to have a physical switch like in the F/A-18.
-
No, it's not possible but they are working on it although it has taken longer than expected. In their recent update they said they will implement it in the coming few patches though. Agree with you, it's a real immersion breaker to not have a body in VR.
-
Ah ok that explains it. Anyhow keep up the good work! I will for sure use this handy tool.:pilotfly:

The water thing aside, I just mean it would be good if it listed all possible threats. SA-11 search radar has the same identifiers as Normandy and Oliver H P. I used the ELINT database on viggentools.se to identify it so use that one :) Nice app in any case though!
-
Actually, the glare in the cockpit is shifting but not the scope itself. ;)
-
Nice app heclak! Would be great if you could expand the threat lib a bit more. I did a test with a Buk and it suggested a CG-60 Normandy or Oliver Hazard Perry. Although they have the same characteristics as a Buk so it's not wrong but simply not likely since my target was land based :smilewink: Also, I didn't understand the lat/long. I got the marker at the correct place but lat 42 long 61! That's like east of the Caspian Sea and north of Afghanistan... :)

Yes, the B-scope has never really made any sense to me. Maybe it's just ignorance, I don't know. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to be able to adjust the brightness of the B-scope, is this a bug?
-
Furthermore it has the wrong texture. It is actually showing the texture copied from the JA 37 where there is an emergency transmitter at the same exact position. Can you please update the texture? As a Swede it's really annoying to have some totally unrelated text there.

Can't wait!:bounce: Your updates always makes me feel like when I was a kid waiting for Santa! Viggen has a special place in my heart being a Swede grown up in the cradle of swedish military aviation and you really deserve to take care of this precious jewel! -
Thrust reverser problem in DCS 2.5.2.20601 Update 9 open beta
frosen replied to surstromming's topic in Bugs and Problems
Talking about brakes... Will you HB guys implement blown tires like other modules? It is certainly not so realistic today when you can land as hard as you want and brake as much as you want basically. Thanks for awesome work btw! Edit: typos... -
Sounds good!

Well, the engine should not die at 16 km if you don't stress it so it flames out because high AoA. A clean aircraft should be able to go well beyond 16 km (according to the Swedish original SFI (the aircraft flight manual)) although it wasn't recommended because if the engine flames out at that altitude you lose the cabin pressure which will boil your blood and kill you if you don't have a special high altitude flight suit. The problem or module bug is that the afterburner fails at around 14 km (don't remember exact altitude from the top of my head) and it's not possible to reignite it at lower altitude or even at ground level - that shouldn't happen! It has been reported by me and several others but to my knowledge the devs haven't acknowledged it. (Just to be clear about the afterburner use at high altitude, it is however correct that it shouldn't be possible to start the afterburner above let's say 14 km (depending on a lot of variables) but that is not what I refer to above.)
