[FIXED] Magnetic Declination Knob not functional
frosen replied to Spathiphyllum's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's +6 degrees magnetic declination in Caucasus which means that if your compass shows 200 degrees before you start turning the knob, it should show 206 when you are finished. -
[FIXED] Magnetic Declination Knob not functional

Check the backup compass just below the backup altimeter (not the bezel on the radar screen). It's not exactly a precise way but it will be good enough until HB fixes the animation. -
"Nordic Fire" - Giving some video love to the Viggen
frosen replied to unipus's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Really good work Unipus! Would love to see more of that  -
The J35F or J35J would be really sweet! I guess it's not a far fetch as they already announced it as a high fidelity AI. Btw, the J35 Draken didn't have any official attack capability (although you could put some rockets on it) hence no "A" in front of the numbers. And while I'm at it, no dash either. The official designations are without dashes in the Swedish Air Force - J35, AJS37, JA37, JAS39 etc... ;)

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I was meaning the "Throttle Designator Controller", just wrote TDC to shorten it but understand the confusion :megalol: So I finally got it to work with your hint to use the sensor control switch which I hadn't designated and wasn't aware that I had to use first - that was the problem all along! Big thanks for your help!
-
I can't get it to work either, I can't even use the keyboard for the TDC so I have no control over the radar. I haven't used the TDC before so I can't say if my problem is related to the update but it seems really weird. Somebody got a clue? Edit: Turned out it was nothing wrong with the TDC axis controls (nor the TDC keyboard commands either). I just hadn't designated the sensor... Doh!
-
I can't get this thing to work. I have a TM Warthog and try to bind the TDC to the slew axis (the little nob on the throttle) but no success! I do it according to the picture and I don't have any problems with other modules. I can't even move the TDC with the default keyboard commands, it's stuck in the upper corner. Any suggestions?
-
Yeah, that's a JA37. The AJ/AJS/SH37 Viggen does have a movable radar stick though (with movable I mean that it moves along all the axes like the flight stick does)... I don't think that's implemented in the module.

Thanks for the update! Always good to be transparent for the sake of long term credibility even though it may bring disappointment in the short term.

Today we enter the second half of 2018. Would be very interesting to know the status of the J35 Draken, the other campaign, the pilot body, the sound overhaul, the manual etc as promised by the HB team in the first post of this thread. Even if you haven't worked on these things it would still be good to hear something so we can adjust our expectations accordingly and spend time on other modules/games if that's the case.

+1 on that! Also flied a lot of Hornet lately and thought the same thing.

I concur, RB74 is not behaving correctly with all aspect like it should.

F-14 May Development Update -- Campaigns & Content!
frosen replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Just make sure to release this model more complete than the Viggen and make sure to get that module out of early access before you pull the trigger on this one... -
F-14 May Development Update -- Campaigns & Content!
frosen replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Quick question, anyone knows if it will be possible to switch between pilot and RIO or if the RIO seat is AI only? -
I couldn't have said it better myself. This aircraft is too good for that! Honestly, I have started to get the sensation that Viggen is not getting the attention from HB that it needs to be a complete product. 2018 was supposed to be the Viggen year but with more than 1/3 of the year past, I can't say I've seen it...
-
Regarding the usage of the AJ 37 in the Swedish QRF ("incidentberedskapen") I recall from memory that the first time Viggen was used for that purpose was in the late seventies, about five years after entry into service. Because of the limited AAW capabilities it was furthermore only used as QRF during summer when it was nice weather.

Yeah... this is an old bug that I (among others) have reported. Haven't got any feedback from the devs but would be nice to have it fixed.
-
Where do I find that ACG server? :pilotfly: Had a check on the Multiplayer server list but didn't find it.
-
It can't be said too much, the Viggen module you guys at Heatblur have created is truly fantastic! Keep the updates coming to improve this into perfection! :worthy: Viggen was my first real module purcharse (and it was also the reason I got a brand new PC to fly this beauty in VR). Now that I have flown a few more planes it is so enjoyable to go back to this aircraft and I adore it even more when I compare it to the other modules.

About the update to the quick missions, the trim at the start of tank buster mission is fully nose up - FYI. Thanks for the update btw!
-
Me too!
-
+1 on that, can't get past this mission. :cry_2:

We have passed the first quarter of 2018 now and it would be nice with an overall status update from Cobra and the devs on this lovely product which I and my fellow Viggenites care so much about!

The memory mode (minnesmod) (when you want to save the picture on the radar screen to interpret the signals without emitting) seems to have too short memory. I have about 5 second before the screen goes blank. Both in the sim manual and in the real manual it says that the picture should be readable about 30 seconds. Anybody else who noticed this?
-
Well, in fact my picture is of the modified reconnaissance version AJSH37 (earlier an SH37). They were the only ones who had that glare shield to my knowledge. I saw that this has been reported but that was over a year ago so either the devs haven't seen it or they forgot about it. Anyway, it would be nice to correct it.
