One of the ways they rectified this is by thermally coating the bombs It increase cook off times. What you are talking about is the switch from h6 to pbxn-109 explosive filler. This was a much more stable explosive filler but did not help with the cook off time.

I just don't see how they can implement deck crew in any way that won't take away from the experience. There are dozens of people up there and they are all have a job. We are gonna be running them over left and right. Even if it was just yellow shirts directing you. How is the npc gonna know how to direct you in relation to other AC. Or know when to pass you off to the next guy. I would honestly rather have realistically placed aircraft and static object that don't make the FD look so empty and no deck crew.

Im down for hangar bay access even though as pilots we will have nothing to do there. I just dont think it should be anywhere near the top of any priority list. Id rather have working barricade(which are not even rendered on the FD at this time) or the Catapult Control pods that pop up, or probably the most important part of launching off carrier the holdback bars.

Why not just advance throttles to mil then do all your "checks" then when you want to take off just turn on AB?

In reality you have to wait 2 hours before putting the intake and exhaust covers on the aircraft. This it to make sure they are cooled enough to not create condensation inside the engine.

MK-15s definitely have pilot option. I think wags was saying the the option wasn't implemented yet. The wire is connected to the rear ZRF switch. Which is a solenoid that opens or closes depending if the pilot wants it or not. Now for things like the m904 mechanical nose fuze. those wires are run and connect to the positive arm latch and the pilot get no say in what happens when the bomb is dropped.

I think the reason we do our own banner towing is because its just easier to do it yourself then having to depend of another squadron to tow your target. I have only seen banner towing done when on det in Key West.
