  1. I'm curious how do the jets create the exhaust smoke? i understand the smoke winders but where does the exhaust smoke come from?
  2. I have launched hundreds of charlie and supers and have never seen this. no matter what the weather is like. then again i don't watch them to much after they leave the flight line....
  3. Fun fact!! On the super hornets the wing pylons are all pivoted outboard to a degree to cause turbulence under the wing in flight to create more lift. I have no clue if this is true for the legacy hornets.
  4. It does. There is an actual cable you can connect from the flight deck to a port in the nose wheel well of the 18 if doing it wirelessly doesn't work.
  5. Is the hornet even getting the LITENING pod? I though we were only getting the flir which has to go on station 4
  6. Just because it is a mk82 doesn't mean it's gonna have a mechanical nose fuse. There is all types of options when it comes to fuzing and fins.
  7. Engine 2 is started first. So you'd use the Huffer to start engine 2 and remove it. Then cross bleed start engine 1
  8. I just drop to 125 knots and pull up. Flaps in auto. Try to keep level with throttle
  9. The f5 was my first and loved it. Ya it doesn't have a HUD or GPS but it is a great plane to fly. Ita a great starter plane and a good jumping off point for other more complicated modules.
  10. That's also not during flight ops. They turn the lights up Abit when the flight schedule is over. But
  11. Ya its different here. The plane captain has a radio or someone close to him that can call maint control if there is a fire. No need to contact tower for any reason. Tower is contacted if you need to drive on taxiway/runway.
  12. I don't think it is working as intended right now. If you have 2x82 on left inboard and select stores only the bombs should drop. If you select rack/launcher then the Bru should drop with bombs attached. Aim7 can't be jettisoned when attached to a 115 launcher, you have to drop the 115 to get rid of the sparrow.
  13. In real life your u can't load ordnance while refueling or with ground power on. I'm guessing this is why it's like that
  14. Not for normal flights. I have had pilots walk while charging the battery and kept ground power during start once. And some flights where pilots start the jet different ways for an inspection need ground power
  15. I'm pretty sure on land pilots just start when they are ready. On the boat they call starts over the 5mc and all aircraft start when ready after this.
  16. You are 100% correct. if you starve a jet there is no way you are gonna be starting it anytime soon. So im cool with it not starting. Maybe try repairing the aircraft then starting it back up.....
  17. Ya but the cluster bomb version is the only one not on that list. If I remember correctly the 154A is a normal bomb the 154B is the cluster bomb version and 154C is the hard penetrator.
  18. Ya its not the hornet wouldn't be capable of carrying it. It just doesn't have the certification to carry it. Kinda like the super hornets fusalage stations are capable of carrying aim-7s like the Charlie hornets but it isn't certified to carry them so it doesn't. No clue why they don't certify every weapon... Cost maybe
  19. There is the AGM-154b JSOW but im not sure if the legacy hornet can drop JSOW
  20. I'm pretty sure the hornet doesn't carry the 97. just the 500 pounders
  21. I'm a little confused as I work on a very wide array of different lot hornets. Because I know for a fact that you can switch on the battery and check the fuel load without the crank switch. It is something I do every single day. The only exception to this is the alpha hornets which need extenal power to check the fuel load. So I'm wondering if this procedure to crank engine to see the ifei maybe got changed to not needing it all or if certain lots have it and some don't.
  22. I'm happy that we are able to remove the pylons so soon into early access. Just wondering if we are going to be able to blank off the 116's on station 4 and 6. Not just for the finished slick look for the Blue Angel skin but they weight about 70 pounds.
  23. The flight deck is almost always lit up. Maybe not as bright as op's picture. But you gotta be able to see on the Flight deck (it's dangerous)
  24. They should also snap every now and then and destory people and jets
  25. I found the x56 just fine. I use a blank profile and only thing I use the software for is so I can make things like the a/A weapon select on the stick work like it does on the real controller. If TM comes out with the hornet stick I'd probably buy it. But as of right now the 56 is working great
