  1. what an unusual question. How come I have none of these (identified with red arrows)? Am I missing a setting? Sorry, just messing with you :)

    Limited flares?

You could however do as many runs over a missile threat as desired without needing to RTB or reload a mission if you have unlimited CM. Not unreasonable to practice like that.
  3. even easier, just setup your TACAN for the ship, then your HUD will give a range reading under the altitude that represents your distance from the carrier. That way you can practice 5Nm diameter circles from any direction from the carrier
  4. I find 30 degrees at 320 knots gives me a 5 mile diameter turn. So does 23 degrees at 250 knots. For me, the secret is to use the autopilot alt and bank hold and ATC to do a perfect turn.
  5. Confirmed, 11x for ICLS works
  6. I'll see if it occurs again and upload a track then. It got better later on, I was thinking maybe I needed to turn around before the trailing ship, and not after. But that might have been irrelevant. I bolter alot! Lol
  7. "You're too far from where you should be, abort approach" this is while I'm trying to get back into the pattern. Not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong, as sometimes it lets me continue fine, but often times its telling me to go around again. I'm just offset to the right of the carrier, doing close to 800 ft at < 400 Nm. Excellent trainer of course! Just need some help understanding why I'm not re-entering the pattern correctly.
  8. this guy has a reg file that you can use to remap your ministick as an axis. What you will need to do however is give up one of the analog wheels on your throttle. Once you do this, you can go into DCS and map Throttle Designator Control Slew to these new X and Y axes.
  9. I don't think I've ever tried before. What does having the sensor diamond in the HSI screen do?
  10. Try talking to ground crew in the instant action mission that starts on the runway, if that works then your problem could be with the radios (ground crew will respond at any frequency) "Chief, request rearming"
  11. I am using SRS alongside VC fine. I even map the same buttons for the radios on my F18. If I tune into a freq that has a human operator, then SRS comms will apply (and VC should just ignore the message). If I am tuned into an AI freq, VC does its thing, and no one should be listening in SRS on that freq anyways. So all's good!
  12. answered my own question, RTFM: Importing F10 Menus Some missions make use of the ‘Other’(F10) menu for special commands. If in Preferences the option ‘Import F10 Menus’ is enabled the F10 menu items will be added to the keyword database. The imported keywords cannot be used immediately, the updated keywords list must first be added to the VA profile. See Keywords Editor section in the Configuration Window chapter.
  13. How does the import F10 menu option work? I was under the impression it is needed to ensure you can talk to every asset available on the map, especially if custom freqs are being used on the server. If i disable that setting and join a server, is this not a potential reason that I am unable to communicate? Thanks for all your ongoing support, it's very much appreciated.
  14. David C, that explanation was very helpful, thanks
  15. why is it that I get the '"----" Easy Communication: On' (incorrectly) when I log into our MP server fresh and startup Vaicom? I have randomly tried other servers, and in each case it Vaicom correctly identifies I'm flying the F/A 18 and detects the comms mode. Same thing with single player missions. Just seems our server is giving me problems. Are there known server mods that conflict with Vaicom? I did confirm that the server in question is running with Player Export Enabled, but I don't think its picking up the server settings. The crazy thing is, if I go into the MP server and Vaicom incorrectly identifies Easy Comms is On, I can still talk to the ground crew, but when Easy Comms is off (because it remembered from my loading of a previous SP mission), I get the message "There are currently no Crew recipients available.". Some relevant server settings are: Integrity Check require pure clients: no - require pure textures: no - require pure models: no Data Export Allow object export: yes Allow sensor export: yes Allow player export: yes Hoping this makes sense, I can provide logs and more detailed repro steps if required. The server I'm having challenges with is the TAW NA 2 server. I'm also in communication with the server admin there, so I can get info if required.
  16. Hmm, so coming out if the break I'm at 250 knots so I drop gear and go full flaps, that's when the balloon happens. Are you cutting throttle further and then lowering gear and flaps, then trimming?
  17. Do you guys just fight the plane's desire to pitch way up after trimming? I find myself pushing the stick heavily forward to keep myself from ballooning
  18. Thank you Hollywood, I'll get in touch with the server admins and work with them. Will let you know how it goes. Regards,
  19. Was there a resolution to the above issue that Buckeye identified a while back? I'm seeing the same behaviour on the TAW NA training server, but not when playing single-player. I get a "There are currently no xxx recipients available." message when trying to communicate with ATC or Ground Crew or Tanker as examples. I am sure that I'm communicating on the correct freqs, as I can use slash commands to communicate. This is with Easy Comms set to off. thanks,
  20. Thanks! I liked what I read in the manual and purchased!
  21. Apologies if this had been answered earlier, I browsed back through this thread only so far. Does VC pro read frequencies from the mission or server? We play multiplayer on a server with custom freqs for tankers and ATC, and I want to know that this product will comprehend them all. Thanks!
  22. Oops sorry, wrong aircraft :)
  23. Checklist screen on the MFD has this exact info
  24. Thanks, I'll give this a shot tonight!
  25. To answer my own question, yes SRS can recognize a second virtual joystick, so can Voice Attack. Teamspeak on the other hand is being a PITA.
