[FIXED] Green Tint and double reflections on front windscreen
ams999 replied to Sn8ke_iis's topic in Bugs and Problems
I changed the files a bit, so far it looks like below. I may tweak some more. If anyone want to try themselves, the files are located at /Mods/aircraft/SpitfireLFMkIX/Cockpit/Textures/Cockpit_Spitfire_LFMkIX_Textures and are called SpitfireIX_CPT_GLASS_DIFF.dds SpitfireIX_CPT_GLASS_DIFF_FILTR.dds -
The folder is called SpitfireLFMkIXCW In the description.lua, everything called {"SpitfireIX", needs to be called {"SpitfireIX_k", Then it should work. But be aware of the following: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=214950 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215143

Thing is, I personally know guys who won't touch DCS anymore until there is a dedicated server, and one of those until there is a dynamic campaign engine. They have some modules but won't buy any more, either. Also, you will never see them posting on this forum beforehand as for now they are lost to DCS. Some people vote with their feet.

Thank you so much for this mod! If only ED integrated something like this in the AltF9 view by default... It's really quite fun being the LSO and I think I learn something for my own landings by watching how people react to my commands and how to anticipate that - far more interesting than I would have imagined!

Capt Zeen F/A-18C Beta Helios Profile ! ! !
ams999 replied to Capt Zeen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Regarding the RWR, I have it on a fairly legible level though I feel it might be better... In /Mods/aircraft/FA-18C/Cockpit/Scripts/TEWS/indicator/RWR_ALR67_init.lua I changed it to shaderLineParamsUpdatable = true shaderLineDefaultThickness = 3.0 shaderLineDefaultFuzziness = 1.0 shaderLineDrawAsWire = false shaderLineUseSpecularPass = true I can read it on the second screen though I would like it to be thicker still... -
Here is a thread with the same problem, some months old... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=197228

At the moment they don't seem to, and although I have partial success copying a livery in a SpitfireLFMkIXCW folder I just created there is a weird effect of showing the livery when zoomed out and showing the original one when zoomed in. Maybe it would be best to have them share liveries as I'm not sure whether people would create liveries for both versions - is that possible?

clipped wings effect flight model?
ams999 replied to DracoLlasa's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I copied the controls from the normal Spit to the CW (changed one button in the CW before to create the CW folder in SavedGames) - seems to work OK. -
9A33 is the GRAU index for the SA-8 transporter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9K33_Osa Do you use any ground unit mods?

First of all, thank you very much for this mod, it's so much better than that original nipple... Also, I'm problably doing everything wrong with the calibration but it seems to work for me...: 1. I use the Thrustmaster utility, mostly to set the deadzone with the text file (does that work? Don't know, haven't tested it thoroughly) The subsequent test in the windows utility looks a bit ragged/low resolution... 2. I use the windows utility to calibrate again, this seems to improve resolution to my eyes (does it keep the previously set deadzone? Is it just a placebo? Again, don't know, haven't tested it thoroughly). However, after this I'm pleased how it feels...

Just tried, yes, pulse is for momentary.
-
Do they have to be momentary? I have set it up with button 24 up and button 28 down. Those are constant but it works very well in DCS for de-/selecting guns in the Su-27/33 and Ka-50 or the lever in the Bf-109. Maybe 'pulse' is for momentary, haven't tried.

Too weird with having to restart the Joystick - admittedly, I don't have VR of any kind but I just use the stick (Gunfighter MkII /w MCGpro) without any problems from boot to shutdown... never had any phantom presses
-
I just see that the first one is quite new, so maybe the author plans a release himself. Otherwise, have at it ;)

Hi, the first skin has been done for the AI F-18, could anyone make one for the Lot 20 F-18? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/499119/?sphrase_id=11889906 The second skin is fictional, from the A-16 project that didn't make it: A model for further reference: http://www.hyperscale.com/2009/features/f16b48dwa_1.htm Please with the camo nose as in the first three pictures. Don't have to be USAF markings, of course; low-vis (as in the desert one above) Marines, Navy, or no markings would be cool. Would be great if someone could make it happen, thanks in advance! :pilotfly:

Capt Zeen F/A-18C Beta Helios Profile ! ! !
ams999 replied to Capt Zeen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you very much for this! Finally, I can use my second monitor again! Also thanks for the tip shaderLineDrawAsWire = false to shaderLineDrawAsWire = true much better legibility! -
So yeah, the AI flies weird sometimes but this was quite funny... BTW, I heard that tracks sometimes don't play back correctly. This one did for me - if the P-51 backs vertically tail first into the ground in the end, the track is good. I was waiting for the 'beepbeepbeep' of a trash truck ;)

F18 - change HUD colour

I haven't even tried it yet but Thank You very much already!! Going to try it now ;) -
F/A-18C HUD color mod req.
ams999 replied to FistofZen's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I second this request. To clarify, meant is the tint of the HUD, not the color of the font. Reference this thread, where it was pretty much established that the HUD isn't this dark in real life but deemed 'not an issue'. It is an issue to me, especially (but not limited to) at night. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=207933 -
Re-reading your post, I think you mean something different from what I noticed so never mind...
-
I have noticed the same - also, flying in the Ka-50 today, I noticed something similar, so just a thought: in Caucasus, flying over lightly colored fields the cockpit goes lighter, over darker colored fields, the cockpit is rendered slightly darker. When flying from the lightly colored beach over the dark water, that effect becomes quite pronounced - and if the program can't quite decide which to choose as you go along the coast, you get the flicker. No hard data, just my thoughts when observing this...

[REPORTED] Liveries stay the same from inside cockpit
ams999 replied to ams999's topic in Liveries/Skinning
So, is there a way to change/reload those? I'm mostly interested in the pilot/co-pilot as some liveries bring their own jumpsuits or patches and I find it weird to see them change externally but internally stay the same one as at the start of the mission (so if I start the mission with a custom livery with a blue jumpsuit, I can only change back to a green jumpsuit by changing the livery at mission start in the mission editor). -
[REPORTED] Liveries stay the same from inside cockpit
ams999 replied to ams999's topic in Liveries/Skinning
For me, Huey and Gazelle. Don't have the Mi-8, Ka-50 changes correctly. Regarding Huey, armed or unarmed, IR deflectors or not - no difference.
