  1. Well I went all the way and ordered the full VKB set. Next question is whether to keep or sell the WH stick? What is a spring-modified WH stick worth?
  2. Hi, Does anyone use the WH A-10 stick on the Gunfighter III base? How is it? Debating whether to keep the WH and get the base, or buy a whole new base+stick and sell the WH stick.
  3. It has been posted multiple times over years, but it has never been corrected. It took 5 years for them to fix the bug with engines responding to ground speed.
  4. When weapons *are* the delivery platform, can be built in extreme numbers for less than the cost of a single manned aircraft, and can be deployed in seconds, are you so sure?
  5. Well... I'm totally sold on these VKB pedals. What are their sticks like, and are they worth the cost to change from TM Warthog stick?
  6. ...or it could be that the 4070Ti is just rubbish, and it is more marketing hype by nVidia to justify people buying yet another overpriced, poorly performing card. The 30xx cards were not that great vs. 2080, and I've not seen anything yet that makes me want to ditch my 1080. You can't escape the fact the 4070Ti has extremely poor memory bandwidth vs. 3080. 192-bit vs. 384-bit makes the 4070Ti a joke. Junk is junk, no matter what number you slap on it.
  7. I'm even less impressed now. You might want to try switching off VSYNC and see what you get. 144 FPS is pretty poor for a 4090.
  8. It is a drone video overflying the real aircraft. You can see the dispensers in the overview of the aircraft from other angles. It's real; not a render or model. I agree. They have access to the actual simulators, so they must be accurate.
  9. Interesting! Is it me or are the wings larger on the Block III?
  10. Actually target them? IIRC the problem was the units are not visible beyond 20 NM. They've perhaps increased the render range then since I last flew (6 months or more). I shall check it out!
  11. In Special options, you can select the 2011 version which removes the new toys, but is still otherwise BS3.
  12. What I was discussing was "cooling the nozzle", not aspect. I know it considers aspect for IR missiles. AFAIK DCS treats AB and not-AB differently, but does not distinguish between MIL and IDLE for nozzle temperature, and thus detection range. An aircraft screaming towards you at 600 kts at idle will be much harder to lock than one sat at MIL at the same speed, because the IR plume is much smaller, and the nozzle cooler due to low power and large airflow. It sounds like a bug regardless of why. PL-5 should be all-aspect like AIM-9M, with similar seeker performance. I suggest trying the AIM-9M and seeing what it does. If it is definitely better, then PL-5 is definitely wrong. If it is similar, then maybe something in DCS is bugged out. Try it against a different aircraft, too, in case MiG-15 is the one with the problem.
  13. Regardless if "all aspect", it will always perform better from behind. IIRC front-aspect lock ranges are 3-5 NM or so, even for AIM-9X seeker. Unless the aircraft is in max AB, the front aspect is quite cold. I don't think it is modelled in DCS, but if you "cool the nozzle" when going for a head-on merge, you can deny a head-on heater shot completely. I'd expect the side-aspect to be better though. At 2 NM I'd expect it to lock, but *not* necessarily track! The angluar rate of change might be too high and the target might end up out of the seeker cone before the missile can turn towards the target from such a launch geometry. Even the AIM-9X would struggle with this set-up; it would certainly lose a lot of energy in the turn. I'd even suggest you probably ended up inside RMin for the missile.
  14. I'm not the OP. I doubt he's lying (what would be gained by it?).
  15. nullHere... this is the 3 x something. Interesting they put the PL-5s on pylons and not the wing tips.
  16. Mine arrived in 3 days, not including the fact they were on holiday! Highly recommended!!! No, I don't miss the toe brakes.
  17. I keep saying it: never buy less than the top spec! Lower spec models are defective dies or other issues that still work. Not worth the money. The 30xx cards are a minefield though...there are only two cards of the entire line-up worth what they cost, and even then, the performance is lackluster at best compared to 2080Ti. I run DCS at 4K with all settings maxed except for AA, etc., and I get 40+ FPS in everything on a lowly 1080 (NOT Ti). It's very interesting that no-one is posting their frame rates. I wonder why?
  18. Hi, Does Tobii work well with glasses? I tend to sit in a dark room, so there will be quite a bit of screen reflection on my lenses. Is there a way to assign a key so it only tracks when a key is held? I hope that makes sense...
  19. As above, it probably needs to look for missiles AND rockets. Really, it should see any rocket motor source. It's seekers that determine if it is looking at IR or UV, but AFAIK rocket motor output is entirely dependent upon chemistry and they all emit IR. Not sure about the UV component.
  20. What about rockets/gun, or are they front-seater only? I have the same problem!
  21. Watch and weep... BOTH are fitted...
