  1. Not a function of if it's the current free carrier or the upcoming module. Will be available for both. The biggest functional difference between the two is the comm and animated deck crew simulation. Thanks
  2. At no point has it ever been said that the Nimitz-class aircraft module would be free. We aren't just selling new comms, we are selling a fully functional carrier experience, from new comms, an incredibly detailed and animated carrier, animated deck crew, crash barriers, control of the carrier, and the ability to man positions such as LSO or the air boss station. The amount of time, effort, and capital going into this is massive, and it will be the most immersive and complete carrier environment available for a game or even a professional training tool. I would expect that someone could enjoy just being in control of the carrier, launching AI and/or Players on missions, in defense or offence... this is not just a few new sound files. Of course, on the technical side, there will be so many network inconsistencies between module owners and non-owners of the carrier that it would cause havoc and look terrible (particuarly deck crew and the new comms), as such making it available to non-owners in MP makes no sense. Other carriers will be available to non-owners still, and many will be happy with the new, free carrier that was added just last year along side the Hornet. This module iis for those that want to take carrier life to the next level. Because the core software of DCS World is free, we will continue to make enhanced module content available for purchase. Thanks

    New callsigns

Once airfield ATC is done, we will need record new voice over for many parts then. Only at that point is adding new callsigns feasible. Thanks
  4. Related to the Hornet: This is a work-in-progress test of the new carrier radio communications in regards to CASE I recovery in non-carrier qualification (CQ) conditions. Three approaches are made with differnet number of aircraft in flight and weather conditions. Not-OK approaches where made to test different LSO responses. Although this is demonstrated for the Hornet, voice-over lines have been recorded to account for all US carrier aircraft types. Implementation of Case II and Case III is also in progress.
  5. Only Steam can approve a pre-order for a DLC product. We have reached out to them about this, and we are waiting to hear from them. They agreed to do so for the F-14, and we hope they will do so for the F-16C. Thanks
  6. The current Cougar F-16 stick and throttle work perfetly well with the DCS: F-16C.
  7. From start of pre-order on 22 May to early Autumn 2019 early access release.
  8. While a very early cockpit and external model began work many years ago, this was all redone this year as our tech had radically changed. Avionics, flight model, etc. only started in October of last year. Thanks
  9. Nothing in the image is placeholder. All is operational and in the game. The images was taken on the PG map. As mentioned earlier, our work on the Hornet has allowed us to much more rapidly develop the Viper. Work began only in October of last year. More news tomorrow...
  10. Hey everyone, A little update on the Hornet… as mentioned before, much of the Hornet team’s time is focused on the targeting pod, JSOW, MSI for LTWS, tuning of JDAM and JSOW flight profile and autopilots, and a deep dive on the INS and GPS navigation systems. We are also working on the HARM guidance system in cases where the seeker loses track (it is currently re-targeting to a different emitter, whereas it should continue along the bearing to the assigned target). All these tasks are rather involved and not low-hanging fruit that can be coded quickly. Earlier, we focused on tasks with faster turnarounds, but these current tasks are taking longer. Development of the Hornet has certainly NOT slowed down, rather, it’s simply shifted to tasks with longer development periods. We expect to have the JSOW, BRU-55A/A, and MSI for LTWS available later this month, and the targeting pod will start internal testing later this month, with a planned release in June. - Wags
  11. Correct.
  12. I've personally updated the change log. Just because a particular Open Beta is light on new features hardly indicates that no work is going on. Quite the contrary in fact. The team has been working on several complex systems, but none were quite ready for realease at this point without the high-chance of needing a hot fix. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3904062&postcount=57
  13. That's a rather misleading statement. There are many Hornet items in development over the past several weeks, but they are just taking time given the complexity. A lot of the Hornet focus is on the TGP pod so it can be brought to you all as soon as possible. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3897638&postcount=151 Thanks
  14. JSOW is very much in work, but needs several items addressed before it's ready for release. The biggest issue being the weapon's flight performance and guidance. Thanks
  15. This week we plan an OPEN BETA update that will add some features and address some bugs. This video highlights these changes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8uldUWd5mg - Wags
  16. You really should have it on the center MPCD.

    Wags Get Well

Hey everyone, While I apprecaite the concern, I'm not on death's doorstep. Just back to back flu and then a bad cold that kept me in bad shape for awhile. Thanks
  19. Hey everyone, For the most part, this is entirely correct and why you need to be careful which pages you put on which displays (never HSI, SA, etc. on the LDDI). The only really error is that if there is no active caution or advisory, then the overlay field should be removed. Note though that in order to remove a caution or advisory, the triggering cause must first be addressed, you cannot simply clear the caution or advisory. Thanks
  20. Disappoined that they stuck with the lighthouse tracking system, not a fan and why I don't use Vive or will purchase the Index. It also does not help matters that Valve has been less than supportive of us unlike other VR developers.
  21. Hey everyone! Apologies for the lack of Hornet news of late. I’ve been a bit unwell lately and the team has been focused on more difficult tasks, so progress has been slower. The big items (in no particular order) that we are working on for the Hornet include: Cleaning up the JDAM and adding new features to the JDAM Adding the JSOW (already in internal test) Add full simulation of GPS and INS alignment and navigation systems PRECISE waypoint input mode Correcting HARM guidance MIDS for LTWS and TWS Litening II targeting pod Regarding PB mode for HARM, we decided to push this back for two reasons: 1- based on client feedback, the targeting pod is much more in demand, and 2- we first want to complete the new waypoint database system that will allow creating of PB points. The next Hornet update is planned for May 8th. Thanks, Wags
  22. It will now be the 8th.
  23. Once I get by voice back, I'll be creating some new video tutorials.
  24. I will say this, I have not seen a single person correctly guess it.
