Nice job!

We certainly hope so, but not something we can promise until we nail down the issue. Thanks

Simply the performance optimization for the Caucasus, Persian Gulf, and Nevada maps. This was working quite well in our internal trunk version, but when moved to the 2.5.5 branch, we lost the optimization. The team is investigating. Once we stomp this gremlin, we'll get this VR performance optimization into a later OB. Thank you for your patience and support.

All VR optimization tests were done on our internal development trunk, not the 2.5.5 branch. The 2.5.5 branch was just constructed yesterday after creating a new branch based on the current version of the development trunk. In the process of creating the 2.5.5 branch from the trunk, something broke the VR optimization of the maps. We are looking into it. Thanks

Sadly, the move to the 2.5.5 branch broke the VR optimization, so I've been unable to test that. Thanks

Hey everyone, As mentioned earlier, I had an HP Reverb loaner coming this week and it arrived yesterday. Wow! This is truly a banner year for VR and the Reverb is a huge part of that. I can’t and won’t compare to other products, but here are some of my impressions after about an hour in the device: As expected, the resolution of the displays really sets it apart. Even in cockpits with very small texts, it is possible to read. Clarity is approaching 2D monitor levels and I could see no evidence of SDE. It is a GREAT VR device for DCS World. I personally did not notice any god rays and the blacks were quite deep. I’m personally a big fan of inside-out tracking. I don’t really “do” room-scale VR, so the ease of setup, maintenance of tracking, and freeing up USB ports is a huge plus for me. Even with the higher resolution, I did not notice any appreciable performance loss outside of my expectations given the nature of VR. Performance was quite good. I really can’t comment on the hand controllers because I don’t use them. Comfort was very nice and I felt very “at home”. There was also very little light bleed through the nose area which I appreciate. I have a rather narrow IPD (59), but I was still able to get a great setting. Later this month I will send the device to our team to allow native support (no SteamVR requirement) There are a growing number of outstanding VR options this year, and I believe it will come down to your budget available and the features you prize most. If outstanding resolution, inside-out tracking, and comfort rank high for you, I can certainly give the Reveb my stamp of approval. Well done HP! Thanks, Wags

I have an HP Reverb "loaner" coming today and I'll try to give you some of my impressions in regards to DCS. It's also my hope to bring it to the Flight Sim Expo this weekend in Orlando. Thanks

Yes, A and C are planned for next week, the 12th. Thanks
-
Yes, it's a feature of the new carrier module. Thanks
-
Regardless of the pod type, it's always listed as FLIR on the DDI pages. Thanks
-
An Open Beta is still planned for this week, but the Hornet items will be for the following week. Thanks

NL is not being snarky, we are generally curious where such a statement was made four hours ago. When creating the video, I was very deliberate in not saying when we expect the JSOW to go to OB. Mainly because several items were still being worked on over the weekend, and not until this morning did we have a good feel for the status of the feature and its risk potential of being buggy or breaking other game elements. As such, after careful evaluation, we feel it best to give it a full week of testing once our internal testers have completed their A-8 testing. Thanks
-
Hey everyone, Because our test team has been focused on the Fw 190 A-8 release, we've been unable to allocate proper testing on the JSOW before an OB release. As such, we'll need to postpone to the 12 June OB. This will also allow us time to complete integration of the JSOW A version (still working on HT fuze settings). Thanks
-
No, we have no information about such a feature in the USN/USMC A and standard C versions. Thanks

This is an introduction video regarding use of the AGM-154C JSOW for DCS: F/A-18C Hornet. The AGM-154C is planned to be included in the a later Open Beta release. The AGM-154C is an INS/GPS-guided air-to-surface glide bomb with a BROACH penetrator warhead. It allows excellent standoff range with a powerful and accurately delivered warhead designed to defeat hardened targets.

My most expensive module by far... feeling bad..
Wags replied to Koriel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
The new Ka-50 is an entirely new model and cockpit. Not updated from the current one. Thanks -

For existing Ka-50 owners, there will be a separate upgrade purchase option at a greatly reduced cost compared to the full version. Specific pricing is TBD. Thanks -

Probably DCS: Black Shark 3 for the full version and DCS: Black Shark 3 for the upgrade version. Thanks -

In the end, we could simply fix remaining bugs and keep as is, or we can do an expansive update that provides the updated visuals free to all Ka-50 owners. To make that happen though, there needs to be some income based on some new functions. While we can NEVER make everyone happy, we think the vast majority of clients understand and support this decision to further grow and improve the Ka-50. Thanks -

I'm sorry you feel that way. To update the Ka-50 (one of our earliest DCS modules) takes a lot of time, money, and opportunity lost from other projects. We do realize though that the Ka-50 needs a lot of love to bring up up to par with our more recent modules. As with any module though, we need to find a means for it to pay for itself, so we simply cannot give away the entire update for free. We have staff to pay and lights to keep on. As a compromise, we are giving away the all new and greatly improved external model and cockpit for free to all Ka-50 users. However, if you want to have the additional functions, I'm sorry, but we need some compensation for the work. I hope you understand. Thanks -
Thank you for all the kind words everyone. Because it's human nature to be more vocal about the negative than the positive, forums like this skew towards the complaints and criticisms in a disproportionate level. While constructive criticism is healthy and results in a better product, it's nice for the team to have a pat on the back from time to time. Thanks

It's always a team decision with our company owner and our CEO having final say. While still too early to announce, key elements of the map must include: 1- Can be converted to both modern day and WWII use. 2- Low overhead, high performance. 3- Geographically laid out to best suit multiplayer matches. 4- Suited for both land-based and carrier ops. 5- Expand into a new part of the world. Thanks
