  1. Is there any archival documentation or primary source on actual MiG-21 Tactics against BLUE forces? I'm having difficult finding anything other than US after action reports which are more about how they preformed than how the opposing forces did. I've seen anecdotal mentions of 3 aircraft "traps" being set, and radar/terrain shenanigans but nothing official.
  2. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Shot in the dark here, and if the answer is "NO NEW MISSILES GO, AWAY RAKKIS", then so be it BUUUUT..... SOME kind of A2G Anti-Radiation Missile would be REALLY nice to have on REDFOR DCS. MiG-21bis began production in 1972. Kh-25 (NATO AS-10 "Karen") entered service between 1973 and 1975 and includes an Anti-Radiation variant (NATO AS-12 "Kegler") Kh-25MP and Kh-25MPU. Originally equipped by MiG-23BN, MiG-27 and Su-17M, according to the non-primary source but HIGHLY reputable Janes it "has been cleared for carriage on the MiG-21 'Fishbed', MiG-23 'Flogger', MiG-27 'Flogger', MiG-29 'Fulcrum', Sukhoi Su-17, Su-20, Su-22 'Fitter', Su-24 'Fencer', Su-25 'Frogfoot' and Su-27 'Flanker' aircraft." Another arrow in the quiver would be really nice. Thanks for you time, thoughts and considerations either way!
  4. The thread we discussed it in was deleted and Doc (I think) never DM'd me.
  5. I think theres a line between ALL AIRPLANES STICK and ALL AIRPLANES ROLL that needs to be a little greyer. There are varying degrees of "Prepared grass strips" @85th_Maverick, respectfully you're a little incorrect in your description of prepared grass. Most regularly maintained or professionally developed grass strips have either a packed clay or gravel base beneath the topsoil to "harden" the landing surface, careful consideration has also been given to drainage and a crown is usually grated into the runway for this reason. Historically Marston Matting (a perforated steel mat capable of intelinking) was used by SeeBees and the likes to allow for the rapid construction of temporary runways all the way through Vietnam with the M8A1 mat. But basically it's not just " ...cut to some level and then rolled..." All that being said a little tweak could be used, especially in the actual airport environment. It is a REAL pain when my NWS Button periodically freaks out and my Tiger rolls off the taxiway a little and its suddenly spawn a new jet time.
  6. I like the views, but screenshots are not "News".
  7. Hiromachi, Status check on the status check?
  8. Hiromachi just said he would work on a news update last week Brother.
  9. And the Kiowa.... I'm wondering if they're ALL waiting for 2.7. Which if so cool, but like.... tell us.
  10. Any update on this?
  11. No, there's a social contract to a certain extent. Once you're at a point where you've announced, in tandem with ED, get a spot on the official forums, start posting regular updates, streams, screenshots etc etc, you become soft obligated to provide news those who have in turn soft pledged to buy your project. Is there a REQUIREMENT for them to tell us whats happening? No. Is there a certain understood RESPONSIBILITY between producer and purchaser to do so? Yes.
  12. This seems the correct take on the situation, I hope PC reads it and takes it to heart. I also think we're seeing the beginnings of a new DCS Microcosm. ED has stated in the past that they plan on adding Technicals to the AI Assets, RAZBAM is actively working on Super Tucano, officially announced Pucara, and teased OV-10 Bronco, this is all in addition to already in airframes like Gazelle, Huey, and C101 and L-39. All of this points to potential serious COIN operations opening up in the near to mid-term future. It will be a nice contrast to A-10 Tank Busting or F-Series JSOW Delivery from Angels 30.
  13. I'm pretty sure this is correct and I know for a fact that IJA Oscars were often mistaken for Zeroes.
  14. SOME variant of H-60 please!
  15. Pretty much this. I think Boeing in concert with 160th SOAR issued an emphatic LOLNO.

Sir, this is a Digital COMBAT Simulator, Bismarck and Hood were surface COMBATANTS. lol But no, I understand your point, and you're likely correct at least at our current stage off WWII Asset Needs.

As I stated in the other ships thread over in WWII Assets Pack: I believe surface combatants should be the priority, with the most widely produced of each primary combatant modeled first (Type 1934, Matsu Class[?], C Class[?], Fletcher Class). After that a Capital ship each: Bismarck, Hood (as much as I'd love to see Warspite the Hood/Bismarck showdown is too historically relevant to dismiss), Akagi, and a South Dakota Class, then everything else as needed. I FULLY expect ED to get right on all of this as soon as I win the lottery and give them $10 Million to do what some random guy on the internet planned out in his boxers whilst sipping his morning coffee.
  18. Yeah we're going to need some further comment on that soon!
  19. I actually think Rudel has the right of this. While the Sabre (along with F-5E) is showing its age, in DCS it exists in a place practically devoid of purpose. With the Huey, full fidelity MiG's we have, and F-8, Bronco (theoretically), and Electric Lightning on the horizon, appropriate 60's-70's Cold War assets would be a better use of time and labor at this point. Perhaps if the ability to create a more appropriate operating environment for the Saber (AND MiG-15) were more robust, they would be flown and purchased in greater numbers and these modules would receive more attention.
  20. I'd pay $25ish for that.
  21. I like the enthusiasm, but as Razo+r pointed out we have access to the Free TF-51. I think adding another trainer would indeed be a waste of resources, especially given the fact that there are more pressing things to be added to the WWII planeset like Stuka/Dauntless, and AI He-111/C-47.
  22. +1 Axis really needs a level bomber AI Asset. Iron Bomb Ju-88 would be an "easy" quick fix, He-111 ideally in the long run.

    Corsair Hype!

Hands down my most anticipated near term Module. Thank you for all your hard work bringing the beautiful bird to DCS. Can't wait to beat the air into submission with her.
  24. What year is the one being produced for the module and how will it stack up speed wise against the Corsair?
