OK, so I tried to set a Flag and can't understand where to set the Flag condition or is it set in the trigger? I can't figure out where to set the probability either. But my main thing is I have 9 groups of Recon elements that must be destroyed. How do I set it so that mission success comes up if they are all destroyed? Is the mission success or failure dependent on the score you receive as set by the Mission Goals where the points are assigned. I would like to see the people get a mission success if they destroy all the targets.

I know in campaign that is not the case. I am set to USA, A-10 squadron and it doesn't effect the Deployment Campaign in that way.

We used to play a mission in MP with two players of hunter/killer with the A-10. We set up units in a known enemy area in the woods and then one player would play "shoot at me" and the other player would look for the tracers and kill the vehicle. What you are trying to do is better done with two people for success.

You guys have given me a great education on the ME and Flags. Thank you very much. Cat - Well give us some of your nuggets. We are all here to learn and reading a manual isn't always the best way. I would have never gotten what I have gotten from a manual because I can't ask the manual questions :)

Kewl, I will dissect that mission so I can see how this all works. I want to make dynamic missions that don't play the same way every time. I would think you could even add dynamics to your mission goal, i.e. you are sent to a sector on call CAS and you get a message from one of, say, 3 ground units of needing help and you set the triggers and Flags so that the attack comes from one of three places and you use a trigger with 3 percentage flags of where the attack comes from, which also triggers the call from the correct unit being attacked. Does that sound right?

OK, I understand that. So basically you are introducing randomness to a Trigger Event thus creating a dynamic atmosphere? And you control your Triggers and Flags with other Flags? BTW, thank you for your patience and I would bet I am not the only one wanting to know this but I am the class dunce who asks :)

OK, I just read that and THINK I have an ideer of what you are saying. I am going to go watch some more Sharks Hockey and then come back and read it again and see if I understand. One question I do have is.........What stops all 3 SAM units from activating at once or two activating at once instead of the desired one if you have all the Triggers and Flags saying the same thing?

I have to admit it is hit and miss with my AI. Sometimes I can't even get them to see the moving targets right in front of them at 5 KM with the same line of sight as me. I tell them to engage and they say negative or whatever negative response they come up with. I am thinking more and more that it has to do with the AI "Level" setting of Good, Excellent, etc.

Can't you just do that with a Trigger Event? What does the flag need to do? Color me stupid when answering because I can't wrap my pea brain around the Flag thing.

I am watching this thread for the answer because I can't figure it out either and it seems to be an integral part in making a realistic, action filled mission.

I can't wait. I haven't flown the mission but it seems to be the type of mission that gunships were made for. Anti Armor warfare.

I don't see the need for DX10 to implement this. It is already implemented in EECH mods and it is DX? ? I just wonder if it is something ED can't do with the software, hasn't gotten to yet, will do in the future, or don't find it necessary.

Silly question but is there a volume control for the radio so I can just turn down the radio and all other sounds are still at a normal volume. I wouldn't want the radio to drown out Nadia. :)

So far I am on the last mission of the Deployment Campaign and there have been no system failures. That would be kewl for mission building where the pilot has a chance to land at a FARP or Airbase to make repairs, but it would be an immersion killer to have a system go down in the middle of a mission and no place to get it fixed or have to fly back to base and get it fixed and then refly out to your target area. The mission most likely would be scrubbed IRL if that happened, depending on the mission.

I see it raining and I have windshield wipers but who needs them cuz nothing happens to the wind shield. Is this something being worked on or minutae that will not make it into the sim?

WOW, that technical talk just got me all hot and bothered :) Nice job Viper. I would still say uninstall and reinstall. If that is wrong, what else got corrupted with the install.

Sounds to be a corrupt install maybe? I would think to wipe it clean from your computer, Eagle Dynamics folder and all, and try installing again.

Thanks, that thread had some helpful hints. Now that I think about it Attack My Target does result in John Wayne, hell bent for leather, fly over attacks while Attack Ground Targets or Attack Air Defenses, they will stand off. I'll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks again.

They seem to use about half the range for the Vikr. I use stand off range and when I tell them to Attack such and such, they go forward of me by 3 KM when I know they have a clear shot from where they started.

I don't know if this can be done with the AI, but it sure would be nice if they used there stand off range instead of charging ahead when you tell them to engage ground targets or SAMS or whatever. They fly to a hornets nest and get the shizzle beat out of them every time. Use stand off and find hiding places. Can this be done with the AI logic or is that something that is pie in the sky thinking? I try and use my AI wingman smartly in the campaign (currently on the Deployment campaign) and like to bring them back alive but their charge in guns blazing, John Wayne tactics make that way difficult and I know my score is affected by them dying or being damaged.
