Easier ways to remember start-up procedure?
Shepski replied to Wags94's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hi guys, Here is another quick start checklist but designed with flow patterns. A flow is a sequence of actions done from memory and is normally in a pattern that keeps the pilot "flowing" along the panels as much as possible rather then switching from panel to panel. As mentioned above a flow is done from memory and then followed up with conformation from a checklist but in this case a checklist follow-up isn't necessary. It is designed to get you started and in the air quickly and assumes you have a basic understanding of the cockpit layout. KA-50 Start Flows - Quick Start - Battery 1 and 2 - on - Nav lights - on - "ABCK" intercom switch - on - Lamp Test - press to check all lights and audible warning functioning *Ground Power - If Required* - SPU-9 Radio Panel - "HON" - Advise Ground service you want ground power. - "\" F10, F3, F1 - DC and AC ground power - on Before Engine Start Flow - Fuel meter - on - Stopped engine EGT gauge test - press - Fuel meter gauge test - press - Forward and aft fuel boost pumps - on - APU fuel shut-off valve - open - Standby attitude power - on - INU power - on - Engine/APU start select switch - APU - Engine/APU start button - press - monitor APU EGT Engine Start Flow - Park brake - on - Ejection seat - arm - Left engine fuel shut-off valve - open - Anti-collision light - on - Left/right engine EEG switches - on - Rotorbrake - off - Engine/APU start select switch - left engine - Engine/APU start button - press - At 20% Ng, left engine fuel cut-off lever - open - monitor EGT and engine RPM increase to idle(60-65%) - Right engine fuel shut-off valve - open - Engine/APU start select switch - right engine - Engine/APU start button - press - At 20% Ng, right engine fuel cut-off lever - open - monitor EGT and engine RPM increase to idle(60-65%) - Engine throttle levers - auto (2 positions up) - Left and right engine generators - on - APU shut-off button - press - APU fuel shut-off valve - close - Request ground service personnel to remove ground power - "\" f10, F3, F2 - DC and AC ground power - off After Start Flow - ABRIS power - on - Standby attitude indicator - uncage and set - Running engine EGT gauge test - press - All remaining radio/datalink switches - on - Weapon control system - on - UV-26 countermeasure power - on - Laser warning system power - on - Signal flare power - on - Autopilot channel switches - on - Baro/radar altitude hold - as required - Heading/track mode - as required - PVI-800 mode selector - on (PA6) - NAV Waypoint button(NNM) - press and select waypoint number on the keypad - Center panel - configure as necessary - K-041 targeting and NAV system power - on - ABRIS - configure - Park brake - release -
Move the cursor to the NAVIGATION DATA entry and press the SAVE FSK button to save map points.

What's being fixed in the upcoming patch?
Shepski replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Guys... it's a new trimmer option... the one in V1.00 will still be available but another option will be added in v1.01... details at a later date. -
Watch the demo tracks in replay section to see a good example of the aerobatic capabilities of the Ka-50. Split-S, Immelman, loops, and rolls are all very possible.
-
You can also use them to set mission success conditions... objective 1 destroyed set flag=1 objective 2 destroyed set flag=2 flag 1 and 2 are true= mission success trigger. Many, many options and many new triggers coming in the patch for even more possibilities. :)

Great work on the CAF skins guys! Thanks!

Flight groups - Abris - Datalink - Multiplayer (Coop)
Shepski replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
5. Set the target type or ingress point on the Data Link Control Panel (the corresponding button will light ). 6. On the Data Link Control Panel, press the “ПРД/ПАМ” (transmit /memory) button to place the target in memory. On the ABRIS, the corresponding target symbol with assigned number will appear. 7. If necessary, repeat steps 1-6 to create additional targets. 8. When done creating targets, press the “СБРОС” (Reset) button “ПВР” on the Targeting Mode Control panel, and this will reset the Shkval LOS to default/boresight. Data Exchange between Helicopters: You must choose a target type, then the recipient, and then go back to the target type button in order to scroll through targets on the ABRIS. Do not push the send button (step 4) until you have a target symbol and flight member icon flashing on the ABRIS. The exception to this: if you have selected the “ВСЕМ” (TO ALL) button, none of the flight member icons will flash on the ABRIS. When handing off target data to a flight member(s) without first creating a target on the ABRIS, (i.e. using Shkval tracking) leave the target type button unpressed, press intended recipient number, and then press the “ПРД/ПАМ” (Send/Memory) button on the Data Link Panel. The coordinates on the ground where the Shkval is locked will be sent to the recipient(s). -
The ABRIS is completely independent of the PVI NAV system. You would have to edit the waypoints on the PVI to match the LAT/LONG of the ones in your new flightplan on the ABRIS.

It Looks No Good - With High Settings
Shepski replied to thasundancekid's topic in Bugs and Problems
Try matching the game resolution with the native resolution of your monitor. -
It's being taken care of in the patch.
-
I think it happens when you choose, for example, a US pilot in the logbook then play a mission as a Russian and kill US targets in the mission.
-
You need both the batteries and the generators on. If you try to take off while ground power or even communications are still connected you will get a nasty message from the ground guy. :)
-
Hi Tim, Sorry this still hasn't been resolved. The only thing I can suggest is to try plugging in a different monitor to see if you still have the problem. Can you borrow one to try it? What is the make and model of your monitor?

Is there a way to get close up of abris or shkval tv view?
Shepski replied to zika1234's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It saves it until you uninstall the game. After you save it press the snap view key combo again. I have it set as a toggle on my stick so I can push the button to hold the snap view and still manipulate the ABRIS and Shkval then push it again to release it back to the F1 view. These snap views work identical to those in Lock on. -

Shepski replied to zika1234's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
First make the snap view (KP0 + KP2) then release it... then pan or zoom the view to what you want... then press RALT + KP0 to save it. -

Shepski replied to zika1234's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Try this: KP0 activates all the snap views... press and hold KP0 and then press different KP number keys and you will see all the default snap views available. Press KP0 and KP2 together and you get a snap view of the shkval/ABRIS. You can edit any snap view by first selecting the view(KP0 and KP2 for example) then slew the view to what you want and then press and hold RIGHT ALT and KP0 to save the new view. This way you can fully customize all the snap views. -
In your case you might have had a severe leak that bled the entire system so you lost flight control hydraulics as well... "golden BB"? :) I believe the emergency gear hydraulic switch is for gear extension only.

Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2008
Shepski replied to Frazer's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Fantastic demo Frazer! You found some things to do with the machine I haven't seen done before! From what I watched live and streamed I was thoroughly impressed by what you guys have done with a simulation I have been involved with for many years. I'm sure everyone who was a part of getting Lock On out to the public, including Eagle Dynamics and The Fighter Collection is proud to see what has been done with it by all the great people in the community including those excellent demo teams and the support people at VFAT. I watched the virtual T-birds last night and was blown away by depth of detail in having a narrator and watching the incredible performance by the pilots. It was hard to believe you weren't watching the real show! I think having VFAT really offers a new perspective to airshow viewing by using the different cameras to view the formations from the air as well as the ground. If there was one thing I would like to see improved it would be having a dedicated camera man for each team who knows the routine and can practice with the team to give the best possible view of it to those watching. Many times I was saying to myself..."please switch cameras or please zoom in or the plane is coming from the left". It seemed that was the only disjointed part of the entire VFAT experience. Once again... AWSEOME job by you and everyone at VFAT and by the virtual pilots! A BIG thanks to those at JaBoG32 for all their efforts and support! Thanks again! -
Got it working Mitch... I had to use the English "graphics.cfg" file and add the line common = ".\\Bazar\\World\\Ka-50_Fictional_Mitch3_Scheme.cdds"; Beautiful skins!!! You'll have use an English graphics.cfg file for the Engish mod and here is mine that has the line added already. graphics.rar

Inputing GPS Coordinates into the NAV system
Shepski replied to AlphaInfinity's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Is the new coordinates you are entering being accepted and displayed on the PVI in the operate WP1 mode? You have to enter LAT/LONG by hand. The ABRIS is completely independent. -
Even after adding that line no skin or cockpit textures. Do you have the Russian version only?
-
You didn't include the "db_countries.lua" file in your list of downloads but you inlcuded "db_categories.lua"
-
Hi Mitch, I see the following in the ka50.lua but I don't see the skin options in the editor. color_scheme("{7EB0DAD7-1FDF-4c1b-9E45-B1322A73AED4}", _("EURO Desert"), 30), color_scheme("{4E3BD18F-7E98-475b-A38C-574A3F3C9BEE}", _("Swedish Green"), 31), color_scheme("{46CBF692-0FBF-47f3-A673-D0BD595A7269}", _("EURO Winter"), 32), color_scheme("{9905C423-F3F7-4b15-9322-AE9E5444941C}", _("EURO Green"), 33), color_scheme("{0883D185-0CD3-4c15-96D7-53548303161C}", _("EURO Green Gray"), 34), color_scheme("{BCF34987-0BBF-49cc-87A9-D400468546B4}", _("EURO Green Gray OLD"), 35), color_scheme("{EB205759-E680-4c44-A731-6D15B702D810}", _("EURO Gray OLD"), 36), color_scheme("{A4BF1DDF-95B0-40a7-95ED-0A0124629F9F}", _("EURO Camo 1"), 37), color_scheme("{4E4298FA-5CA9-47a5-B572-C537E4D27EFA}", _("EURO Camo 2"), 38),
