To avoid all confusion, think of the PVI WP mode as being the "enroute" mode. You can edit both the ABRIS and the PVI to create a new flight plan while in game. For example, you start the mission but don't want to follow the included flight plan. Simply use the ABRIS ERBL/Marker mode and create a marker on the map where you want a WP. Then use the INFO and TO buttons to create a direct flight to that point. Then use the PVI EDIT mode to edit PVI WP1 and enter the LAT/LONG of the new WP you made in the ABRIS{for the game you will always use the +(0 key) for both LAT(N) and LONG(E)}. Go back to the PVI OPERATE mode and now PVI WP1 will be to the WP you created on the ABRIS with full autopilot coupling.

You can use the Ka-50 at night and kill targets with the Vikhr and cannon. 1. Use NVG. 2. Increase contrast on cockpit TV monitor. 3. Turn laser on. 4. Find target in Shkval. 5. place targeting box on target and ground stabilize(press lock once). 6. Fire Vikhr or cannon when in range. You will not get an auto track but the laser will still work for guidance.

Making the KA50 available to other nations

Me too! -
Nice job! I brought it home to a belly landing with the tail section completely missing... among other things.

The best mode for general maneuvering is the flight director mode with the heading, pitch, and bank channels selected. You the have all the stability and trim benefits but don't have to fight the autopilot.

One thing I reallly wanna know how to do.
Shepski replied to Cosmo81's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Auto-turn-to-target mode always leaves the target slightly offset so you must fine tune the alignment of the nose to get the Vikhr within launch parameters. -
I'm flying a 737-200 and LOVE the old steam driven machine! We have one -200 with an MCP and auto-throttles... nice to see that side of technology every once in awhile.

Table of contents page II and page 2-5: The spelling of cyclic is wrong. In the manual it is "cyclick"

Yes... the Helmet Mounted Sight is the most efficient way to use the Shkval.

I meant for everyone having this problem to provide a track file.
-
I had a look at this and it seemed that when you switched to from "autotrack" mode to "gunsite" mode the problem started. I took control after you had opened the door and it wasstill moving on it's own. I moved my hat(Shkval slewing hat) one press and it stopped and was fine after that. It may be that your hat got stuck after all the slewing you did up to that point.
-
Does this happen immediately after you turn the Shkval on? After you have had it on and have begun slewing it? After you have ground stabilized it? The Shkval does not stay slaved to the longitudinal axis of the helicopter. Once it is turned on it will slowly move horizontally as the nose of the chopper moves but if the gimbal limt is reached it will then move as fast as the nose of the chopper moves. If you ground stabilize it(press the lock button once) it will remain in the same position until it reaches it's gimbal limit and then will move with the same speed as the nose of the chopper until it's back within it's normal FOV. If you spend a lot of time looking down at the TV screen and don't pay attention to the direction of the nose you can easily turn the nose far enough to reach the gimbal limit of the Shkval. How about providing a track file? If it is an input related problem then try assigning the slew commnads to a hat rather then using an axis.

Me either with a E8400. XP SP2

Nice work SunDown!

Nope... the ABRIS is completely independent of the auto-flight system.

You can hot(engines running) re-arm but you have to figure it out. :)
-
Start by practicing on roof tops then move to control tower roof tops then a stationary train then a moving ship pad then try a moving train. :) Good luck!

Do those statements also work with the Stickwoks digital chipset in an FLCS/TQS?

You mean this PapaDoc... This was a few years back... he looked good in flaming pink. :)

Sorry... those are lessons from *Survival School*. ;)

Lesson #1: Trim, trim, and trim some more! The trimmer is your freind. #2: Using auto hover under about 5 meters will shut down 3 of the 4 channels of the autopilot stability system and losing this vital function that close to the ground can cause for many a bent bird. #3: If you find the chopper changes from a stable docile machine to a wild bronco with a mind of it's own... look down and check the autopilot stability channels because they probably aren't engaged. #4: Trim some more.

Is it true that there is no copy and paste functions in BS ME????
Shepski replied to JEFX's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
There are also ME keyboard shortcut keys which really speed up placing multiple units on the map... next best thing to copy/paste. -
You only see this when the full flare and smoke trail dissipation is in view and up close to your viewpoint. 95% of the time it's not an issue.
-
This issue was brought up many times in testing but nothing was done. In earlier betas I was able to use the Lock On Flare FPS tweak to help with flare performance when up close and in view. This should still work with the Russian release. Search for the mod on your favorite Lock On website.
