Fantastic demo Frazer! You found some things to do with the machine I haven't seen done before! From what I watched live and streamed I was thoroughly impressed by what you guys have done with a simulation I have been involved with for many years. I'm sure everyone who was a part of getting Lock On out to the public, including Eagle Dynamics and The Fighter Collection is proud to see what has been done with it by all the great people in the community including those excellent demo teams and the support people at VFAT. I watched the virtual T-birds last night and was blown away by depth of detail in having a narrator and watching the incredible performance by the pilots. It was hard to believe you weren't watching the real show! I think having VFAT really offers a new perspective to airshow viewing by using the different cameras to view the formations from the air as well as the ground. If there was one thing I would like to see improved it would be having a dedicated camera man for each team who knows the routine and can practice with the team to give the best possible view of it to those watching. Many times I was saying to myself..."please switch cameras or please zoom in or the plane is coming from the left". It seemed that was the only disjointed part of the entire VFAT experience. Once again... AWSEOME job by you and everyone at VFAT and by the virtual pilots! A BIG thanks to those at JaBoG32 for all their efforts and support! Thanks again!

Where do we find them in the editor or are they replacements?
-
That's normal... you have to use right rudder to get the final alignment. The turn on target mode is set up for gun employment which is why it's offset to the left.

Welcome!! I sure miss racing with you guys but now you can see what I was up to. :) -
As soon as you get the overspeed warning reduce collective and make very gentle flight control changes or you'll break them again!
-
Thanks Zach!! It'll only get better! :)

IS this the racing "goon" from SimHQ? -
If they are high aspect and or high speed it's very difficult. You want to lock them up when they are low aspect and or slow and make sure the TD box is large enough to cover most of the target. What I do is follow the target with the TD box until they slow down or either turn towards or away from me then lock them up.

Flight groups - Abris - Datalink - Multiplayer (Coop)
Shepski replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
You can also have more than 1 player on the same ID code but the ABRIS symbols will flash for those players. You will usually find the dial set to COMMANDER and #1 when you enter the cockpit in MP so you will want to re-set the Datalink dial off of the #1 ID and also set WINGMAN... unless you are the #1 ship. -
Hi, Glad you're enjoying my demo. I always had fun doing airshow routines in Flanker and Lock On and was messing around in the Ka-50 one day and put that together. I did get into the beginnings of a vortex ring state but used huge amounts of collective early enough to negate it and get some lift back. The helicopter wasn't very happy because I had a blade angle of 15 degrees at the bottom of the maneuver and the rotor pitch warning didn't stop for a while, but she held together. :) You can watch it entirely from in the cockpit if you want by pressing F1 but it will not replay the original views from that point on and you will have change the views if you want.

Inputing GPS Coordinates into the NAV system
Shepski replied to AlphaInfinity's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hi, Here we go... editing a WP that is already in the PVI-800(which is usually the case as set in the mission editor)... 1. Set PVI-800 mode dial to EDIT. 2. Press WP then 1. 3. Press "0" this sets North Latitude and enter the coordinates(ex: 43.06'.2") and ENTER. 4. Press "0" this sets East Longitude and enter the coordinates(ex: 040.34'.4") and ENTER. 5. Set mode dial to OPERATE. 6. Press WP and 1 and your new waypoint is now set for enroute NAV with autopilot coupling. Ways to get your LAT LONG are by using the ERBL function of the ABRIS and moving the cursor to a place on the map you want a WP. Then use the LAT/LONG off the ABRIS and set that into the PVI as described above. Or, you can create a flightplan in the ABRIS using the DRAW function, or you can use any LAT/LONG on the map. Hope this helps. -

I echo Evil's comments... the feedback makes us all very proud! Thanks everyone! -
Looking forward to it Frazer and have fun!! :) I missed the Knights unfortunately but the Mig demo was superb... very clean and precise with constant action. Well done Reaper!

Then that's probably your problem... joystick software I'd guess.

This campaign is... and not compatible with Vista?
Shepski replied to bladebarrier's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Try it and see what happens. It was found during testing that the more complex and resource heavy missions didn't fare well with Vista so the note was added. Tell us your results. -
This seems to be a problem with your monitor to me. Have you tried troubleshooting drivers for your monitor?

KP0 + KP2 will snap view to the Shkval and ABRIS... a very handy view.

That's when you should use the flight director mode. -
Autopilot Stabilization Off...Better?
Shepski replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Use flight director mode for the most precise flying... no autopilot coupling but the stabilization is still there... but you still have to trim. -
Go back to the DCS E shop... it's listed under the box image.

How about a re-install of DCS?

It's been great viewing!

Can you adjust the monitor setting to move the screen up? I haven't seen this before.
