  1. Hi, i played around with the cockpit fix from Tetra and was able to get it working. Seems like a lot of people are looking for a fix so i will share mine here. It's JSGME ready so nobody will loose the original file. All credits go to Tetra for the original fix i just transformed his dds to tga, renamed it and made it working for jsgme. 2. As we all know DCS started way back with the flanker back in 95/96 since then it evolved to dcs world like it is right now. Back in those days there were even less females interested in computer games and i think that's a big part why some of your "options" are not there today. It's the same for racing sims there are also no female driver models and still a lot of females are racing in those games. But DCS is a mod friendly platform you could also do something in that regard and bring up a female pilot model or get some friends and other female pilots together to record new voice overs for everything. As long as most of us live in a democracy it won't work that the 20% decide what happens with the 80% and that is a sadly fact. https://venturebeat.com/2013/09/19/gender-inequality/ Don't get me wrong i would also love more female voices through the radio communication but i also think that ED should fix a lot of other bugs which are more important to the whole community than new voice overs. 3. Didn't work for me since i sometimes up my landings and i wasn't able to get the mig21 out of the grass even with a fuel load under 1000 and no weapons left except for around 60% guns ammunition. And no i didn't roll on the grass with 200kmh it was around 60-70 when i tried to reach the taxi way and up the steering so i ended in the grass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLWB41THWKM
  4. If you have just updated from your old BS1+BS2 upgrade version try deleting the ka50 within the module manager and re-download the module again. It fixed it for me in the first place when i upgraded my serialnumber.
  5. So you are only running on release version? I am just asking because the openbeta patch fixed the canopy bug for the mig and a couple of other deferred shading. i know people are forced to use it in the beta patch if that's the case for staying on release version i completely understand it.
  6. It's simply not the case for every multiplayer platform. If you have ever played Pro evolution soccer online its the same there. People who like to cheat over others turn on a couple of downloading programs so their ping and traffic explodes and the game completely ****s up for the other guy since he just see jumping players doing strange stuff. In this regard DCS is so much inverted that even if you watch the same replay 20 times you can get like 15 different results on the same replay :) The player with the slowest ping has only the disadvantage as long as the server sets the simulation borders, on every other situation its quite different and depends mostly on the architecture of the game itself who has the dis-/advantage.
  7. It's already fixed with the latest beta patch 2.5.1 seems like it was a problem on EDs side which is gone since the new open beta.
  8. Pipper works for me as it should. Haven't tried bombardment but gun and missiles works just fine also the range/wingspan changes but it starts to move at around 400-500m and gets bigger and bigger. Check again if you have set air 2 air mode and also set the giro switch to giro and not cc and last but not least u have flicked the switch on the top left to gun.
  9. Unfortunately not at least not in my server list :(
  10. @katmandu: Maybe you haven't got the point that the "Game Mode" is implemented within DCS World for all aircrafts. Everything you are suggesting takes extra time do develop. They are not doing a full sim module and spending more time to develop a game mode for it. The game mode is already within the DCS world platform. All you are suggesting is taking time away from new things which will evolve the product further, that's the whole point. The best option i could see would be to form a third party exclusively for fc3 modules.
  11. +1 from me too, just to be sure its not always the same guy who gets me :megalol:
  12. Just look for a setting you like, ww2, korea, cold war and look for a server. Every server has a little description with information about the mission, teamspeak, simple radio and also a website. If there is no password its a public server. You can also look up the squadron or group which hosts the server and look for their site on the web or even here in the forums. You can ask all your questions here and you can also ask directly on the server. Its like everywhere else but almost everybody wants a bigger community and most people are willing to help if they can.
  13. Haven't read everything but try to run it in window mode so uncheck the fullscreen box. Won around 40 fps straight with this change. I don't know why because everything else performs better in fullscreen mode except for dcs :)
  14. I found a "quick fix" yesterday when i forgot to lock and seal my canopy and left it on the runway. :D:thumbup:
  15. Ah that would be another funny feature when you get downed and are still alive, you should have a flare and smoke with you so that the huey/mi pilots can come and grab you, bringing you back to the base or you get captured because its an enemy chopper and you are on hostile territory. :)
  16. You already have FC3 so no need to piss of, but i think 6 different aircraft with simplified systems are enough to get to grips with the physics. Simulation games which are aiming for a "as close to real life as possible" experience are a niche in every genre! And flight sims are a quite small niche too if you compare it to racing sims. And because of that there is a smaller market for hardware like joysticks and pedals, but if you invest 200 in a good stick you will be happy with it the next 5 years. So its 40 bucks a YEAR come on thats not even 4bucks a month. If you can't get immersed through a game and you just see it as a casual fps fragging platform than be happy u have a couple of "less buttons to remember" planes, but don't expect everything gets simplified when its constantly evolving, just because you see it as entertainment and not as a hobby like many others. People are building their own cockpit replicas just for 1 module and some of them are real pilots and have flown those planes. Even if i am never able to fly one of those birds i still like the fact that i would be able to get it up and running and maybe in the air.
  17. I am gonna buy it for sure since i also bought the normandy map for ww2 immersion. It's a bit strange when you play a mission with the ww2 assets and do a gun run onto a tank in front of a nuclear powerplant :) Its not that bad in multiplayer because i am focusing on different things but in single player mode its a bit of an immersion breaker for me. I didn't buy nevada because its a test and training range and i am really not interested in shooting dummies on a real target range. I know a lot of the US players gonna like it and a lot of those pilots who use DCS more as personal training tool than a "game". But for me the price is just too much for a couple of low flybys around vegas.
  18. In singleplayer i really enjoy campaigns where a lot of work was put into the scenario of the campaign. Lots of text and background information, i don't need voice overs they're just a really huge bonus but i really enjoy the stories through the campaigns like the F86/MiG15 Relic campaign, great stuff. I really would love to see the Luftwaffe Pilot campaigns from il2, those were really nice atmospheric missions if somebody knows them. Since a couple of weeks i am enjoying multiplayer and just flying in sp if the servers with the settings i like doesn't have any players. I am really enjoying the historic content on dcs, ww2 warbirds, early jet fighters up to the late 80s mid 90s birds. I don't know how to say it properly but i like stuff where the skill of the user is more important than its technology. I am really not interested in doing a 35km kill with a rocket where the biggest hurdle was to get the bird up into the air. And i am not a good pilot i die a lot because of really stupid mistakes or stress related mistakes ;) But that's the enjoyable part for me. Being able to fly those machines without a proper education for it. Learning by doing since it doesn't cost me money or health when i crash ;) And for the bugs which are still there for me its not a big deal because dcs is a huge sandbox and if you create something really huge there will be bugs and errors but as long as its not crashing 8 times a day i can live with a lot because for me there is still a lot to explore. Ka50 was my first module around 8 years ago and its the one i played the most, right now i am enjoying the mig21 and the sabre and getting to grips with huey, but i have so much to choose from it just doesn't get boring. :)
  19. Honestly all your arguments come to the point that you don't wanna invest time into a specific module and still want to fly it without knowing anything about it. Sure its hard to remember all those different systems and characteristics but its the same for real pilots. Those guys don't fly 12 different fighter or attack planes in their career because its ****ing demanding to learn all those systems and get a routine into it to be able to use everything in a real situation. And its quite more difficult for them because if they make a mistake they die. Its much easier to find your limits with a module in a simulation because when you crash, you can start all over again. And even when its not that hard to simplify systems so that it would be a FC3 standard IT TAKES TIME. Even if its just 2 days everybody else thinks those 2 days are better invested in a new module, platform upgrade or a bugfix.
  20. None. Sorry but the biggest problem would be that it would somehow unbalance the Multiplayer part. There are a lot of players out there who would use any advantage they can get and if you have other modules with simplified avionics, people who actually learned the plane are in a disadvantage. I just pick the mig21 for instance because i fly it alot and on multiplayer there were a couple of stress-related situations where i couldn't fire my missile because i just forgot to open the cover switch for the weapon release button. ;) And for singleplayer you have the cheat buttons for startup and active pause for everything else. If you are not interested in learning a plane than you really should look for a game where everything is simplified.
  21. Hi, Nvidia invented a new way for them to use up to 16 screens with just one GPU. They introduced it with the pascal series and it seems that developers have to implement it to their products to take advantage from it. I really would like to see this in DCS since setting up multiple displays should be a lot easier and also performance should go up with this. I don't know how much fuzz its gonna be to implement it in an existing software but it should be easier to set everything up for multiple displays. Thank you!
