  1. Thank you Rudel for all the information! I just have one question, will we see the fixes of the missiles before the release of MAC?

A little bit off-topic but it would also be quite nice to get 2 russian warbirds which would fit in the period and like a "graphical" update to the caucasus map where buildings get changed to appropriate ones from the time period and those nuclear powerplants get removed and u have a pretty good theatre for the eastern front. :) I mean an update where u just change buildings or remove some to make cities a bit smaller should not consume as much time as a completely new does.
  3. As far as i remember since the switch to deferred shading, ED mentioned that it's not fully developed right now and that they are working on improving it. Nothing changed so far as you get the same lightning bugs around almost all modules. It will take some time till everything is balanced and they get all the modules to the same standard.
  4. Yes you paid in advance for a module which enters early access in winter sometime. That's why its a PREsell you paid for something which is gonna be delivered in the near future. When the module hits early access you get a pop up in your module manager like with everything else. At least i didn't have a key to enter for the F18 as far as i remember it was just there to download.
  5. You can still use them but they are not performing as well as they should. There is a thread somewhere in the bug section. But i have to say that i didn't tried them since the last 2 or 3 updates. I am always on the open beta if something gets improved on one of the modules i am flying at the moment. But for me it seems that the R13M doesn't have quite the range it should have. But most of my experience is from multiplayer. I still get a lot of joy out of the module don't get me wrong here, its just a bit boring over time when u have 4 stores and use it only for the same missile type. I would like to sneak up on a an enemy which is flying straight and down it with an r13m from a greater distance. It's a bit annoying when u have to crawl up on 2km so that your r60 will hit :)
  6. The campaign is bugged on my side at least mission 1 and 2 are in the wrong order but someone did an update for the campaign in the user files. Sadly there are not many missions out there for the mig21. The worst bug for me are the behavior of the missiles since a couple of updates, u can't really use anything except for the r60s. I really hope some things get sorted because the mig21 is also my favorite module so far and it's a long wait for the mig19, mig23 and f4e. Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 4 mit Tapatalk
  7. Since the F-4E is a two seater airframe and needs a rio in someway, it could also be on hold till heatblur pushes out their F-14 with the jester ai. Wouldn't make much sense for me if they would develop their own rio ai since a lot of other stuff is also shared along some modules.

You are right, but if you would end with a 1:1 ration you would end up with a fov of 20° to get the feeling you are sitting right in the airplane and every switch and everything else would have the right scale. Flying with fov 80-90° artificially decreases the scale of everything in the sim and thats a problem which exists for years not only in dcs. here is a link for better understanding with a calculator for your configuration. Its made for racing sims but it also works with dcs. http://www.projectimmersion.com/fov/
  10. Thats because you are looking on a screen with a wrong fov to begin with. If you would use a fov which would compensate between the plane cockpit and the real world you would endup with a fov around 15-30° depending on monitor size and how far you away from it. That's where all the distances would match like in the real world, you standing on the ground watching at an airliner. But the human eye can focus on different distances that's still something you cannot simply achieve on a screen and also its quite hard to play on such a low fov if you don't use triple screens or projectors. So the bigger your fov gets everything else gets smaller and also by feel faster.
  11. Hi Alpenwolf, would it be possible that you enable kill notifications please, a lot of people on the server talk about it. It would be good to know who killed me with which weapon and its also a bit easier to identify friendly fire kills. Thanks in advance!
  12. Yeah you set your radar to stby so that you will not be visible at your enemies rwr. RWR sees threats 360 degrees around your aircraft while radar just sees in front of you. Which will allow you to sneak up on any enemy aicraft from behind or an angle his radar won't see you. You can still use r3 missles that way, but u have to turn on your radar when you are already in firing range and you have to guide the missile to the target.
  13. Hi Sub2k, my suggestion is try running dcs in window mode so uncheck fullscreen and see if you gain something on my side it doubles fps and i still don't know why.

Yes there is, go to your x:\dcs world\mods\aircraft\fw-190d\ and open views.lua and change CameraViewAngleLimits = {20.0, 140.0}, the settings to your liking, 20.0 is the minimum zoom level all way forward and 140.0 is the maximum zoom level like in your picture. It stands for 20° fov min and 140° fov max. Same for the spitfire and most other planes. If you have it on a axis and want for example 90° as your middle position you have to use min and max values so that 90° is in the middle for the whole travel. so in the example above we have 20° minimum and a 140° maximum which gives you 120° of travel divided by 2 for + and - axis is 60° if you add 60° to your 20° min value you end up with an 80° default fov which zooms to 20° inwards and 140° outwards on its axis.
  15. I am running dcs in window mode because i get a much smoother experience than in fullscreen mode. With the same settings i loose 30 to 50 frames in fullscreen and i get a lot of stutters, i am around 70 to 90 fps in fullscreen. When i change to window mode i get 100-140 and all the stutters are gone. But for me its the only game i have which runs better in window mode than in fullscreen.
  16. I have the same issue and also the one that the active airfields for red or blue are not shown at all in the f10 map while i can see every other airfield. Maybe this is also related to ssaa i have to give it a try.

Go to x:\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21bis\Entry\ and open 03_Views.lua There you can set Allow360rotation = true or just get rid of the shouldersize and set Shouldersize = 0 you have to try it out which one works best for you but i think when you enable 360 rotation you have to setup your track ir that you don't snap over your neck regularly.
  18. I am not really familiar with Afghanistan but my vote would be the most mountainous region with a border and not too modern buildings. Would be nice to have an alternative believable theater for the warbirds, normandy is not mountainous enough for me :)
  19. Haven't noticed that but i have to admit that i haven't flown a single mission in such dark conditions that i would have needed the instruments lights. I think it will take a couple more months till everything is balanced with the new deferred shading and all other modules get updated with the new features.

Yeah its just if i don't run srs before connecting to the server i have to reconnect in dcs to get the auto connect feature and i keep all servers in my favorite list for easy join after i am already connected. Since there is still some lag sometimes when people join on a server i don't wanna screw up everybody else experience.

Hi, i was flying a lot on the Burning Skies server lately and suddenly i noticed that my cockpit interior around the metal frame in front keeps sort of flickering like the sunlight reflections would change a lot on the frame even in level flight without turning. I have not tested it with other aircraft for now, but it seems that the ground reflects on the inside of the metal frame in the front. First i thought its the lightning bug with the exterior lights inside the cockpit but i didn't even turn them on. Does anybody else have this issue with the K4 on normandy? I will try to test it with other aircraft and maps too, just to see if it happens anywhere else. Cheers!
  24. Since only the Harrier and the A10 have it, i don't see a big problem here because with the MiG-21 you should have a good advantage against those two aircraft. I scored my first multiplayer pvp kills against Harriers in my MiG and i am just a target for most average pilots :)
