  1. I'm sorry but I can't recommend that build. He would want atleast an AM3 or LGA 1156, 1366 motherboard and compatible CPU. If he followed that build to the tee he would have to upgrade again relatively soon. It looks like DCS A-10C will be DX11 compliant so I would also recommend a DX11 GPU.
  2. I couldn't agree with with you more but the onus is on the community to: 1. Make intelligently designed missions 2. Have squads run these mission on their servers. Number two takes courage because as you said with respect to FC2 a lot of people are used to "airquake".
  3. Well you finally qualified your statement however in your earlier statements you were primarily speaking about the F-15 and Su-27 which lead to the misinterpretation. But once again you are basing things on conjecture; you feel the burn-thru ranges on the aircraft are not correct so they must be changed. Provide us with proof (e.g. Charts, documentation, etc) not conjecture. ED can't just change the range to an arbirtrary range they need documentation.
  4. But Tekneinium you can't base things on conjecture. You have to back up claims with facts "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". I'm sure that everyone wants the most accurate representation of system modeling in DCS but you can't "have your cake and eat it too". You can't ask the devs to create a high fidelity world and gripe if your beloved aircraft does not perform better than another.
  5. To be honest you are better off building your own rig. It is not difficult; I repeat it is not difficult. But you would save a lot more money building your own rig, a lot of vendors use proprietary parts in builds so you kind of limit yourself in respect to futureproofing yourself.
  6. Let me start by saying that no one knows the recommended system requirements for DCS A-10C. I typically use the beta testers rigs as a benchmark to have a vauge idea of what to expect; however here is my recommendation that wouldn't break the bank. My recommendation: CPU:AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Motherboard: MSI 785GT-E63 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard Graphics Card: ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU TOP/2DI/768MD5 GeForce GTX 460 Memory: Kingston HyperX T1 Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) OS: Windows 7 x64 You can use your imagaination on the optical drive, the case, the power supply (you shouldn't need anything above 700 watts for the above) and the HDD. And I didn't list a sound card because you can pretty much get away with an onboard sound card nowadays. P.S. I believe it is against the forum rules to request help in exchange for rep.
  7. Thanks for the heads up Wags; can't wait to see the new screen shots.
  8. It's my understanding that the Sniper ATP will not be in DCS A-10C while the Litening II will be in A-10C.
  9. Hello, The easiest way to play LockOn Flaming Cliffs with others is to use: http://hyperfighter.sk/ . Hyperlobby is extremely simple to use; create a unique user name and password, find your game exe and select a server in the browser and join. Much of the community has matriculated to Flaming Cliffs 2.0 so I'm not sure how many active servers you would find on hyperlobby but I'm sure that there are still a few out there. If you need any additional help send me a PM.
  10. Very nice demo you put together there.
  11. But can it play Crysis :P?? But in all seriousness it's impressive that they were able to develop a seemingly capable UAV considering the economic sanctions that have been in place. The UAV seems more aimed towards being a detterent against a potential US strike considering that it doesn't have the legs to attack Israel.
  12. Awesome video; thanks for sharing!
  13. Beautiful screenshots. Are these shots using the new post-processing mod?
  14. I've been flying Falcon on and off for about six years now. The Aeyes pits are a definite must they really add to the immersion of the sim. Aeyes' F-15E pit is by far his best work. Panther had a great write up on SimHQ.com about the diffrent Falcon versions out there: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2839534/READ_FIRST_Which_version_of_F4.html#Post2839534. I personally fly a lot of Allied Force for it's multiplayer stability. When I get bored of the Falcon and would wish to dabble into another jet I hop into Free Falcon and enjoy the beautiful pits that Aeyes has created.
  15. :megalol: that wouldn't work with my wife. She'll tell me to push the ejection button and get off the computer :D.
  16. Looks like it's only carrying six slammers.
  17. Well not at the moment but in the future :D
  18. Well Fox 4 is "simulated fire by a bombardier" however it can be used as a supplemental guns call. But you are correct diffrent AF's use diffrent brevity.
  19. To add to that: Fox 4 - Guns
  20. They are working on multi-core optimization at the moment.
  21. FC 2.0 and DCS Black Shark are more cpu bound than GPU bound. To put things into perspective I recently upgraded from a Radeon 4890 to a GTX 480 and am only seeing a modest improvement in my frame rate. DCS A-10C will be using the DX11 API so you should in theory expect to see better utilization out of your GPU.
  22. Capsilus how is your fps with other mainstream games?
  23. Well you didn't disappoint gas this is a tough one. But I'll take a shot. Yak-141?
  24. Agreed however their music lives on forever.
