  1. Would not have figured that they were EWO's undergoing navigation training. Thanks for the insight.
  2. It's my understanding that they put in a order for 24 Block II Superhornets. I'm trying to locate more information about the order at the moment to ascertain whether or not they do in fact have a customized Block II.
  3. Well they are using the DTS to assist with conversion to the A-10C so I don't think they care about immersion just learning the new systems in the A-10C's cockpit. And those TM HOTAS's are $30.00 on amazon.com btw (we are in a recession you know ;)).
  4. Su-30MK:The commercial version of Su-30M first revealed in 1993. Export versions include navigation and communication equipment from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Su-30MK2:Su-30MKK with upgraded electronics that enabled support for anti-ship missiles. Su-30MKV:Export version for Venezuela is most likely to be similar to the Su-30MK2. It is my understanding that the Indian version (Su-30MKI) would be the more capable aircraft with TVC and avionics from Israel, Russia and France. The RAAF Superhornet is no diffrent than the one F/A-18F's currently operating with the US Navy; I'm not certain however if there are any store restrictions on the order. Twelve of the current 24 Australian Superhornets have been wired on the production line for future modifications to EA-18G's. The Superhornets are primarily taking over the role of the exsisting F-111's so anti-shipping, strike, etc.
  5. Thanks for posting that link. I went ahead and pre-ordered the stick. Wags recommendation sold it for me.
  6. I don't know about you guys but I look forward to pumping depleted uranium through choppers ^^
  7. I would prefer a hardcover manual aswell. I had a bad experience with the ring-bound BlackShark manual (e.g. A few pages in the rear coming out or ripping).
  8. I think he means that AMD/Intel have reached the pinnacle of compute power which is far from true. The biggest hurdle is going to be getting past the 1.5 nm die size on to something smaller (a picometer).
  9. Your doing a hell of a job! Keep up the good work:thumbup:
  10. Looks like the main rotor clipped a tree ouch.
  11. The game is still in Alpha guys; we have a long way to go :D
  12. Wow great news! I thought for sure that MS abandoned the genre.
  13. You mean tessellation? Well if they are indeed going to the DX11 API then yes I would assume that you will see tessellation in action if you have a DX11 card.
  14. Well no one promised a 2010 release. ED is aiming for a 2010 release
  15. You have nothing to worry about. DCS Black shark is DX9 however many individuals with DX10,11 cards have no problems playing it because the DirectX runtime is backwards compatible to a degree.
  16. I'm in no hurry anyway I would want ED to take their time and release an outstanding product!
  17. I'm pretty certain that you would be able to run it but the game will be able to take full advantage of DX-11 hardware. I just purchased a GTX 480 today anyhow because the DX11 announcement has me pumped.
  18. Wow I'm just blown away. Great work guys.
  19. Beautiful paint job.
  20. Can you list a source for the Su-30's detection range of the F/A-18E/F in the frontal aspect at range?
  21. I would really hate for a bad apple to derail this topic and turn this thread into another locked one. Let's stop digressing and get back to the discussion. As others have noted the Superhornet should have the first-look, first-shot advantage over the Su-30 in a BVR engagement. The Australian airforce does have the option of converting some of their F/A-18F's into F/A-18G's at some point which will also help mitigate the Su-30 in a potential BVR engagement. The only real advantage that I can see a Su-30MK/MKI having over the super hornet is a kinetic energy advantage and a range advantage.
  22. I just moved to Decatur, GA USA and lost my sim equipment (Saitek X-45 and Track IR 5) during the move. There is so much house related stuff that needs to be taken care of I can't even justify purchasing a stick or Track IR at the moment. Life is always > than a hobby.
