  1. Hi GulfWarFighter and welcome to the DCS community! Short answer, no you can't add airports on a map. Long answer: If you think Nevada is too small (it is actually but it was meant for training purposes, not real war), go to Caucasus or Perisan Gulf or even better, fly choppers. You can setup FARPS pretty much anywhere you want and with a top speed of a chopper, Nevada can become much bigger than when flying a fast jet at high altitude! :)
  2. Happy to see I am not alone! I am supporting ED by buying their fixed wing modules hoping this will help them releasing a Rotarywing module, but instead they are just releasing more fixed wings every year! Doh!
  3. Keep having ground color for the sea too. Was raised a few weeks ago.
  4. Ah ah! This thread is just brilliant! Although it doesn't address a much worse set of people that buys modules and just even don't install them! Forget about flying them even once! You think no one can be stupid/crazy enough to do that? Here are the modules for which I got a licence that I never even activated: F18, Harrier, Mig-15, M2000, Mig 21, BF 109, FW 190. Modules that I flew ONCE: P51, FC3, Spitfire. Yes, that's hundreds of dollars completely wasted! You think you are sick? Well how do you call me then?
  5. The thing is, very often during mission editing, you need to jump into the game to check how your mission is doing with this object or this trigger, sound or script. So having a standalone ME has a quite limited interest. Note that DCS and the ME is running on a Surface Pro 2 tablet, but when you launch the game, even in the lowest settings, the textures are not loading well and a lot of them are black. But you can still edit a mission nonetheless.
  6. (360 video)
  7. Not sure for fixed wing but flying jetseat in a rotary gives you a nice reminder that you are about to enter a settling with power state or a vortex ring state and it is time to raise a bit your collective before it is too late. Can't have a better way.
  8. Again, no self centered stick are really valid for serious chopper sim pilots. So out with the warthog or virpil or anything discussed so far. (except dawgie79 suggestion which looks real nice but way more expensive than https://shop.microhelis.de/ which are also hydraulic damped (for the cyclic only)!).
  9. Corrupted game usually means you are trying to install your mods in the main DCS directory and not in the Saved Games one. The mods structure has been changed by ED at least 1 or 2 years ago and objects mods cannot be installed anymore in the main DCS directory. Hope this helps.
  10. Looks like we are approaching fast the 1.0 version Flappie! The light at the end of the tunnel! What an incredible work! Your map will be used by generations of DCS pilots just like the TC-1 map before!
  11. All helicopters have this problem too. Not a show stopper but confusing.
  12. I don't know what you mean by improvised bombs but yes, the Mi8 can carry FAB100 and FAB250. Dropping them and actually hitting something is a bit of an art though. Don't expect any fancy CCIP. This is not an aircraft for gameboy pilots. The bomb sight is not and will not be implemented so you need to use the gun sight or any other visual reference associated to a speed and a altitude to drop the bombs. The method described in the manual does not work very well actually. So you will need a bit of practice before you can hit something.
  13. I believe the final version of PG is only available on the openbeta. But I can be wrong. I am not flying the release version.
  14. I am flying microhelis.de UH-1 cyclic and collective with crosswinds rudder pedals. If you are serious about flying helicopters, you don't want self centered controls because that is not how you fly these machines. On the minus side, this is not cheap at all.
  15. If you go to the controls panel for your aircraft and press the key combo you want to use, it will go straight to the command that uses it. No need to search.
  16. Hi ArturDCS, Sorry, I wanted to let you know many versions ago. But since i just updated to the 3.2.2, I am using this opportunity to confirm that with the latest version (but it wasn't working already before), on the Mi8, for the vhf, the tuning works only for the frequencies starting with 1xx.xx mhz. As soon as you are passing 200 Mhz and above, the tuning of the frequency in game is wrong.
  17. Looks like DCS is using almost all the VRAM it can. My 2080Ti is running at 93% VRAM with 11Gb available.
  18. Please read the warning I put already above: If your DCS freezes at 57% loading, it's because this mod is conflicting with Upuaut's latest LZ set (assuming you have it installed). In this case, you have to remove Upuaut's mod, install this one, edit the mission to remove all the UH-1 LZ (you can use Suntsag's marshen FARP for example instead of the H) then save the mission, remove the UH1 LZ mod and re install Upuaut's LZ mods.

  20. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
  21. Yes. Channel 5. Then press tune button until the green light turns off. Then you are tuned in. The Ka50 is not an aircraft that you can fly without reading the manual.
  22. Awesome flappie! I would have thought that roads would have been more tedious than rivers! Looks like you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Bridges and airbases are probably a bit complicated but not as much as all what you accomplished so far!
  23. Hi guys, On all my choppesrs, the release weapon command appears twice and it kinda screws up my settings. What do I need to edit again to remove the double assignement? Thanks.
  24. You can also place it behind you and invert the axis in the software.
