  1. Rift S received today!
  2. I got the FSSB R3 non lightning. It works perfect in DCS BUT, you will have to learn from scratch how you fly your aircraft. Your stick is not moving anymore. So it's not about the movement but about the pressure you apply to the stick. And that changes a lot of things. Took me weeks before I was able to fly again decently.
  3. Hi Ghostrida9. There are tons of incredible objects mods to add to DCS to make it look absolutely awesome and realistic. I can only recommend Ranger79's, Upuaut's and Virpil's mods which will rock your missions big time. Aircraft cannot touch and go afaik, just takeoff OR land. I think you can make an aircraft land and then place a trigger zone at the touchdown zone that will make the aircraft switch to another waypoint. I haven't tried it. It may more look like a go around than a touch and go though.

    Wind

The subject is as old as DCS itself. There must be hundreds of threads about that since 2008. It's still hard for me to remember how the wind works despite the hundreds of missions I designed. I think ED doesn't see the point in changing this.
  5. :drunk: It's coming!
  6. Not dumping on the thread man. I love the concept being a busy dad myself. Just wanted to share what I experienced over the last 10 years. You Don t have to take any of my advice (obviously you won't), just wanted to see your initiative successful based on realistic assumptions. Have fun man.
  7. Would be awesome for squads
  8. I am asking for this feature for years. The auto start feature is too often used by people who don't want to know how the aircraft really works and just shoot things down. Since the auto start is far from perfect (at least on some choppers like the Mi8 where several circuit breakers are not engaged in auto start), you are ending up with the pilot starting to ask why such and such is not working in the heat of the battle, or just crashing into the ground because he wasn't able to engage this crossfeed pump or to pull this emergency power that would have allowed his aircraft to keep flying. (it's just that he never really care about opening the manual and looking at this). My 2 cents.
  9. The BuDs concept is pretty good, although I believe, from my experience in squads, that the vast majority of pilots in DCS are either already busy dads or retired. I am starting to wonder, reading this thread, if people are reluctant to join DCS squads because their fear to be the only one with kids and wife constraints while the rest are 16 yo kids? This cannot be further from truth actually. It would be interesting to have some stats on the ED forum but my guess is that average age is likely to be 35 and more. The total lack of attendance constraint is also something that might be short lived. I am not talking about having to fly 3 days a week of course, this is crazy, but pilots that are showing up in missions once every other month are quickly dragging the group down during the missions because of the time spent to remind them "where is the master arm switch again" just when the situation is heating up. This becomes a bit of an immersion killer that might discourage the ones that fly regularly. Finally, the most critical element of any squad is the mission designer. There is no squad without him. Ideally, without them. And designing missions takes a lot of time and dedication. It is hardly compatible with being a busy dad. A week work is often required for a 2 hours mission, assuming the mission works. It can be really frustrating sometimes and not always rewarding. Non mission designers do not always realize that. And that can quickly drain down your mission designer if the squad is basically made of pilots that are just jumping in from time to time with no real intention for commitment. My 2 cents. I hope I am wrong and I wish you guys all the best for this cool idea for a squad.
  10. It does in the server list. And it won t let you jump in the server without the mods installed. Static do show in MP when placed on ships. Just remember to tie them to the said ship in the object options panel.
  11. Just been debited by Oculus for my pre order. Status says prep for shipping. I guess the first batches are ready.
  12. Mistral does self destruct between 15 and 19 seconds. This is perfectly realistic.
  13. You are the best. Period.
  14. Watched it twice. Beside being hilarious, I am really impressed by the amount of work you guys put in this. This must have taken months! The result is excellent!
  15. Last time we tried, dropping cargos on ship was badly broken with cargos floating high above the deck. In your case, my guess is that your cargo probably lies beneath the ship. That's why you don't see it.
  16. FYI guys, it is possible to refuel/rearm on Marsden FARP. Also, some (not all) of the latest Upuaut helipads also allows refuel rearm with the proper vehicles in place nearby.
  17. Ah OK. We have one of our pilot who owns a licence for the converter too. But I'll let Viper do the magic in CombatFlite.
  18. Wow, the ASTER one is like night and day compared to the SRTM. It's awesome you were able to find an alternate that is even better than the standard. Can't wait to have the uber high definition of your work. Do you have a way to convert it into mbtiles?
  19. OK. You guys website looks like you are more WWII oriented so that was a bit confusing for me. With the RAF name tag I thought you were based in the UK. Flying helicopters only here at BSD, twice a week 2100 EST based on US Army doctrine. You are welcome to fly with us.
  20. I am pleasantly surprised that ED implemented a declination that follows the yearly variations. I always thought that the declination in DCS was the one in 2008 or 2011. ED never communicated on this since the last post I saw about this for Black Shark 1!
  21. Low level hell! What an awesome little chopper. Not holding my breath as ED doesn't show a lot of love for RW. Would already be happy to see the Mi-24P before 2020.
  22. Omg flappie! This is soooo awesome! Can’t thank you enough for this massive achievement! I am really impressed! P.S: we are commonly using bridges for our waypoints in the chopper world!
  23. Are you sure you are running the latest version? You won t see any server if you are running an older one.
  24. This looks really awesome. The lack of proper documentation like this is often the reason why people put off designing missions. Having an English version would have been even more amazing. But that is still a really remarkable work.
