Awesoooome! You are the best! Thanks! Lol, I can think of pretty much everything we lost over the last week man! That's a lot!
-
I am so desperate. The library of objects by default in DCS are so poor I can't find any inspiration for my missions by just using them. It's certainly enough for fixed wings since you don't need a lot of ground details, but it s totally insufficient for RW operations close to the ground.
-
Sadly not ALL the objects in the VPC Mods are working. Firehouse, fire_ext, VPC man x are not showing up.
-
Thanks Dimi! That's pretty cool of you to save us from this disaster. I was hoping that it will quickly fix my FARPS but unfortunately, it is not the same height than Range79's ones ( I could do without the same length but not with such a difference in height) Thanks nonetheless.

[REPORTED]Vehicles driving under bridges
BaD CrC replied to gunterlund21's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same in PG but not for all vehicles. Depending on the vehicle type, some are making it on the bridge, some under it. -
My most expensive module by far... feeling bad..
BaD CrC replied to Koriel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
This is the crazy thing Dimi. I just can't remember why I have so many. This is ridiculous. -
Got the rift and the rift S. Not anywhere close to sell my cockpit until we got real VR gloves.
-
At first I thought... what? Seriously? And then I googled: I think it is an Mi-8MTV5 model, not the 2, but wow, anti tank and Igla missiles on a Mi8???
-
ex81, You did previously install the NATO GF mod before installing the winter deliveries, didn't you?
-
In MP at least. Sound to all and sound to group is fine. Sound to country is no go. Didn't try sound to coalition.
-
Instant buy! This is the best news ever for BlackShark. It's just amazing to see upgrades on a 10 years old module! So happy right now.

My most expensive module by far... feeling bad..
BaD CrC replied to Koriel's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I can tell you that the BSD squad is going wild right now on Discord! Just checked my DCS account. Actually 4 BS2 licences and 2 BS1 licences. I think I need some help. :noexpression: -

I don't care for the paid upgrade. I actually have 2 BS1 licences and 3 BS2 licences. Lol! ED! Please take my money!!! Best ED newsletter ever today! -
[MOD] Vehicules MBT T-62M & Renault VAB by Grimes
BaD CrC replied to Lilkiki's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
The VAB in different versions is available also in the latest Frenchpack released by Dimitriov -
Camino. Where did you read this? There was an official announcement?
-
OK. Strange. Thanks!

Did you guys managed to pop up the gunners status window in the latest OpenBeta release? Tried the shortcut and can't get anything anymore. Kinda hard to know if your gunner is in free fire mode or hold except when you are being shot at.

I guess ED will need to exhaust all the 2 digits numbers behind the F-xx before starting to work on a RW aircraft. Not holding my breath too much here.

Got a pretty hard retreating blade stall a few days ago while diving in a valley and not watching my speed. Didn't ended up well. I hope this thread will not turn out into another FM discussion. Don't know about flying upside down but the Gazelle is a pretty nimble little chopper much more agile than all the previous DCS modules. IRL it can do some funny stuff:
-
Still ABRIS pretty hard to use even with the Rift S. But agreed that the S made the chopper usable now in VR.
-
Self centered controls (like most of the joysticks available) are a bit misleading when it comes to helicopters since there is nothing like this IRL. I am using non centered/hydraulic damped controls for the cyclic and I found the Gazelle to be actually the hardest RW to fly compared to all the other choppers modules.

You won t find the experts on this part of the forum. Try either mods and apps or input-output/home cockpits.

Oculus Rift S to fly DCS Helicopters quick review
BaD CrC replied to BaD CrC's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes. The plastic ring being above the handle (like for the vive) instead of around. So with big enough hands, you can keep the controller while holding at the same time the cyclic or collective. I am using helisimmer.de set of controls based on the real Huey ones and funny enough those match exactly the ones in game position wise so my virtual hands are perfectly matching my real ones when I grab the cyclic and collective. Of course, that doesn't work for the other choppers. -
When it comes to VR, there is no better experience in DCS than flying a helicopter: flying below tree line sitting inside a plexiglass bubble provides an amazing immersion feeling and increases your situational awareness by an order of magnitude. The big critic I had with the first Oculus Rift was the poor definition of the screens and the screen door effect, making the gauges very hard to read and spotting enemies difficult. The new Oculus S screens basically remove this problem: the gauges now are crystal clear and you can read all the labels and see even the smallest graduations on your compass or HSI, making it possible to navigate and fly your aircraft with a very good accuracy. The cockpits in general look really crisp. A huge difference with the older Oculus Rift. Two things that still need improvement though: - the ABRIS on the KA50 is still extremely hard to read in moving map mode with the names of the villages or towns readable only if you virtually stick your nose against the ABRIS screen, - the labels on the SA342 cockpits are still very difficult to read, the font used being too small even for the new definition. Screen door effect is now pretty much invisible. Audio is horrible. You can forget about flying with the default Oculus Rift S audio system. So you can either use your audio headset over the VR one (heavy) or plug earphones into the audio jack available on the Oculus Rift S headset. In DCS and running on a 2080 Ti, with a pixel density of 1.8 and all textures set to high, frame rate was almost all the time maxed out at 40fps (80Hz) over any map. Not a visible difference with the 45fps of the previous Oculus. There was though some visible stuttering with the landscape when looking on the sides. Let's hope the VR optimization promised by ED in the soon to be released DCS 2.5.5 will solve that. The new shapes of the controllers allows a bit more to grab your physical flight controls while still holding the said VR controllers. With such a price tag, the Rift S is an interesting upgrade for DCS Helicopter pilots: the increased resolution makes it much easier and nicer to fly a rotary wing. For those who did not use VR before, you can expect a significant increase of your flying skills with this device; the increased situation awareness allows to land in very tight landing zones that you would have avoided before for fear of clipping your rotor blades or breaking your tail rotor. You will still need to use your audio headset to stay immersed in the beautiful flapping sound of the Huey, or the enchanting music of the SA342 turbine, and I wish there was some key bind available in DCS to activate the external cameras view of the headset in order to be able to use the keyboard or activate some elements of a physical cockpit without having to remove the headset or rely on muscle memory.
