  1. It was used in this movie, it is even on a cover. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103321/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Loaded_with_Death_(Zaryazhennye_smertyu)
  2. Yeah ArmA 2 pretty much popularised that myth.
  3. Of course it is possible to save Mi-8 from VRS. As soon at it starts to shake before transitioning to hover that's your cue to add more power (or to be precise, pull the collective) or you risk entering into VRS. If you enter into VRS then you have to qucikly gain some horizontal or lateral speed, help yourself with pressing on a pedal too. Hind is actually heavier than Mi-8 and as every helicopter it will require a lot of caution at decreasing altitude while being still with zero horizontal and lateral speed. Never exceed negative 3-4 m/s and you should be fine. Although it was frequently taking off into air and landed as airplane, meaning pilots are mostly used to do rolling take offs and landings - it's safer and since it is a large helicopter and consequently it's generally safer that way for the aircraft and its surroundings on the tarmac.
  4. Estimation is Q2, which means approximately between 31st May (since this is a steam release date) and last day of Q2, 30th June, or in worst case in the beginning of Q3, at least until 31st of July. Not specific dates, just my rough approximates.
  5. Hey, at least the flash muzzle is brighter than my future!
  6. It's actually the Pushka / Пушка, not the Papa - don't forget that it isn't an NATO aircraft. Пушка means a gun, rifle, cannon. Which by looking at that massive side twin barreled 30 mm cannon makes ... some sense.
  7. As @BIGNEWY confirmed on the discord, it's just a placeholder date since they must provide a date for Steam if they wish to sell on their platform.
  8. Since when? AFAIK it has only a button trim ... and doesn't have trim hat on the cyclic at all.
  9. Another 'demonstration' of Mi-24's agility from '99 in Chechnya It starts from 3:31 on. Prominent 'not giving a f*ck' attitude
  10. Well, it seems AH-64D will come before Mi-24P Ah, we'll have to wait a little more I suppose?
  11. I don't think we will get reproduction of F10 maps in the moving map ... To me they are very similiar to ones which we currently see in the A-10C and Hornet
  12. I just can't but .... hahahahaha, hooooooly shiiiiiitttt. That's amazing. Absolutely, and unguided rockets barely does any damage with indirect hit on vehicles ... also let's not forget some damage model would be needed for vehicles too ... but that's a topic for another debate. But with hind coming in and because of its look which makes "oh shit, i only hope it is on our side" impact on ground forces, a sort of a moral system should be made and implemented in DCS. At the moment now everyone is an all knowing robot who practicaly is sniping at you as soon as you get in their range and just not gives any shit about consequences.
  13. Yeah, AK, RPK, PKM those are all personal weapons, i.e. the ones you can carry by yourself and shoot 'em. KORD isn't the one (I know there are some exceptions, if you will try to find some russian rambos holding a KORD or even two of them you'll very probably will find them ) as it needs a tripod or needs to be mounted somewhere for optimal ... ehm, let's say, results? lol
  14. Yeah, AKs or RPKs are more sensible to me, KORD in this case would be just too much, and I don't even know if I ever saw one hind with Kord. Hips yes, but never hinds.
  15. Wait, what, we're getting KORDs for side guns?
  16. Yeah sure +1 but afaik that's a thing of DCS's core and not devs making Mi-24

    Subtitles for AI

Damn I knew I closed the video too soon, I didn't even saw there was actual flying and even shooting ingame footage, I thought it's only talk and my understanding of russian is below average. Also yeah, it's nice to see those subtitles and I think we hearing impaired can be without fear for not having subtitles. Thanks!

    Subtitles for AI

In that interview with Pilotmi8? On what timestamp?
  19. Hello, here I am, making another wish related to the subtitles being a deaf wanker I am (sorry, I like to joke on my account from time to time ) I'm making another request so I am not making same mistake again as I did with Heatblur when I sort of asked kinda too late for subtitles for Jester since he was already pretty much completed and programmed that way it's unfortunately very, very hard to add any subtitles to him so all I can understand that he is having a laugh of his life when I miss the basket ( ). Maybe they will add them later but they can't promise anything though. So let's get to the point - will be that secretly named AI speaking and if yes, will be he subtitled? Thanks.
  20. To be honest, it makes more sense to me. Althought hind being robust and not technology packed as other DCS counterparts (Ka-50 for example) it still has more systems than Mosquito does, and let's not forget helicopter physics are slightly more difficult to program than fixed wing so to me it makes a more sense if Mozzie arrived before the Hind - althought being a first twin engined WW2 prop multirole combat aircraft in DCS, thus making a new milestone for ED.
  21. Neatly built, I like it. I asked you already before, but I don't believe I got the answer, so I am trying it again, did you made the stencil by yourself (i mean the drawing in illustrator, coreldraw...)? I like it alot, is there any possibility for you to share it with me? Oh, are you going to stay on monitor or will switch eventuelly to VR? Monitor seems to be quite far away to be honest.
  22. The only problem I find that is ED only makes and will publish one helicopter ... and it's not the OH-58. To be honest I'm not that eager about OH-58 because by last demo videos flight model seemed to be quite arcadey like the DCS: Gazelle. For example, OH-58D was completely still in the hover even after launching 2 hellfire missiles (fun fact ... one missile weights around ~50kg and that's quite a number) and there was no weight shifting at all, that made me to completely lose any faith in the module. When I pointed that out in the stream many angry fans practically attacked me and told me it was just a work in progress. I don't know, maybe I do expect too much but the flight model is a base of everything - especially in helicopters, which practically beat air into the submission, thus making their flight model is a hard and delicate process. It's also why I'm so interested in Mi-24, not only I am very big fan of it but now I have a full faith, especially after I saw what Belsimtek (now of course ED) is capable of and how delicate their rotary wing modules are.
  23. Yes Hinds whole fuselage aside from the cockpit is slightly inclined to the right for negating rotor's lateral lift at higher speed (can be clearly seen in DCS on Ka-50's lower rotor at higher speeds, and if you go too fast, you risk collision of lower and upper rotor). Trimming this helo should be an piece of cake contrary to Mi-8 which clearly tilts a lot at higher speeds.

    Damage model

Wow, that's quite a higher survival ratio than I thought at first. Well, it is indeed a flying tank if nothing else. Should be more tougher than Mi-8 that's for sure. Also since updated damage model for WW2 is already out, and since ED promised it will do advanced damage model for other modern modules I really want to know if the hind will come already with updated one or it will be added later like it damage model for WW2 module was recently just added.
