  1. Also, does the pedal dampener switch work now? I don't remember it did anything at all when you flicked it down and disablerd it before or am I wrong?
  2. Although I'm not sure it falls off, I think it's more that it can get permamently stuck open until you replace that hydraulic rod which holds it open. Keep in the mind that the door itself is very heavy. But that's, of course, just my opinion. What actually happens I'm not aware of.
  3. I am latelly more and more seriously considering grabbing a pair of those and then selling my Simped Rudder pedals (the classic ones, without F-16 toe brake styles). They're good pedals but not quite perfect for helicopters. Thanks for review @Bephott. They've been out for at least 2 months and there's no in-depth reviews yet except the one from TheNOOBIFIER1337 (link).
  4. An leftover from the Lock On Modern Air Combat I think. This one to be precise.
  5. Yes, BIGNEWY confirmed to me yesterday that Apache uses the new rotor/propeller tech.
  6. No question is stupid, if you don't know something or you aren't sure and can't find information you are looking for (or aren't even sure how to find it), you can always ask. With some exceptions ED forums has quite a helpful community. So yeah you have to twist the throttle to the max after startup and leave it there since you need constant RPM output and maintain same RPM for rotor. Also don't pull collective too hard, since it can slow down the RPM and you can fall like a brick. First indicator of this is the electrical systems failing down until you get RPM high enough back so all the electrical systems get the power back on, but f.e. you'll have to turn them on again (autopilot channels).
  7. Throttle must be set to be at max and you don't use it at all in flight. Then you just change the blade pitch with the collective. It's not a rocket science. I personally don't even have assigned throttle on any axis on my Warthog as I just use PgUp and PgDwn for it.
  8. I doubt it that we will get the the templates for rocketpods and launchtubes since they are universal and can be used on other aircraft so they are really rarely painted. And truth to be told I've saw many pictures of the hind and hips and never saw any specially painted rocketpods and launchtubes to be in same colors as the aircraft itself in the exception of fuel tanks for some czech tigermeet hinds. And even hinds with tubes for airshow smoke trails have same colors as ordinary Shturm/Ataka missile tubes: So on this point I'm not agreeing for templates for tubes (since they're models on their own and not related to hind, so if you change them you could possibly see same skins on other aircraft too) but I do agree for template for suppressors and pilots. Could be nice to have some pink helmets or something, lol.
  9. Ah now I see what do you mean. Interesting, never saw that before.
  10. Because of the Stingers Russian pilots just got used to flying very low and fast with Hinds in Afghanistan and consequently never had the actual need for jammers since they just didn't have them anymore. Also I think IR exhausts suppressors provides more to the safety of the helicopter and its crew, so until ED rework and make them actually useful and I think we'll profit more from them than IR jammer which was, you may or may not like this fact, withdrew from the usage for a reason which was already mentioned many times.
  11. What do you mean we don't get it? You can actually fly Mi-24P with 8 guided AT missiles, and this weapon configuration works, as WSO you have 8 missiles slots to select from when firing.
  12. Yes it could be a nice addition - not only that, I'd have another reason to learn how to use it, lol. I have it for Mi-8, played a little with it but never actually used for what it is intended to use for lol.
  13. Yeah but the problem is I don't know if the actual hind has a rudder trim reset. It's a thing that also bothers me since I don't have fully understanding of. And when I disable that damper it actually doesn't turn off and it still stays where it was so I really don't have a idea how to center it except using trim reset which is not quite realistic. Also tried disabling SPUU, yaw autopilot channel etc, switching damper off ... nothing helps, when the pedals are there, they are there and you can't recenter them.
  14. Oh my bad. Then the most sure thing is to do a complete uninstall, manually deleting any leftovers. And mandatory usage of OVGME or some other mod manager after cleanup.

  16. Just disable the yaw autopilot channel, I guess. But then you'll have to keep the left pedal pressed.
  17. I personally don't have problems such like that. I think there's even some half of a second before it actually moves away if you don't readjust your joystick in a timely manner. I usually hold the trim, when I'm satisfied with attitude, release the button and right after I move joystick back to the center. If it is still a little off, it doesn't bother me since I can fix it with hat trim anyway. And it'll be quite a while before a proper FFB joystick which will be easily moved after trimming it and staying in a place becomes available to public for a affordable price. If it ever will be, even, lol.
  18. I'd like to know about subtitles for Petrovich and voice warnings - same as A-10C has them but not Mi-24 so I don't open another thread.
  19. You can just use default setting. The problem with 'return to center' setting is that you can quickly lose some valuable seconds if you don't recenter your joystick properly since until you do that, you don't have any control over your helicopter - its cyclic literally freezes and won't move. This can be very awkward when you're for example heading into a hill or some obstacle. With default you can just quickly release it to center then fine adjust with hat trim since hind is, aside from Gazelle, the only helicopter in DCS which has it. My 5 cents though.
  20. Even Gazelle has functional wipers but has no rain droplets at all on canopy (yet, I hope. I really hope they will overhaul her nicely because she has excellent view for flying, sorry for offtopic, but how they're flying gazellas is main reason why I like them)
  21. @CYPHER11I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think it is only a thing of a practice, so more you use it, more feeling do you get. It is really a crude weapon with heavy and large munition which has very steep parabola (so the grenades are falling down quite fast after being shot) but a devastating one when used correctly. Once ED implements the morale system for ground troops, grenade launchers should be a morale destructors - once in the future. You know, when everything is just exploding around you, you are completely incapable of doing anything if you're in fear of your life. This may not be true for everyone but definitely for a majority.
  22. I don't think hind has an auto ranging ability for grenade launcher since it's meant only for infantry and light/transport vehicles such as humvees, uaz, ural ... it also has a very high dispersion, further you shot, more dispersion you get and that's the main reason you have to rely on manual sights which needs to be manualy adjusted before shooting. Or you just shoot first pair of grenades, see where they land and fix the nose accordingly.
  23. Yes, air data sensor boom is more accurate name for this ......... pitot tube thingy. The moving parts are low-speed precision airflow sensors and @AeriaGloria already stated for what are these used for.
  24. @VictorDavion Nope, Mi-24VM/35 is quite different than one we have in DCS. It has glass cockpit, different avionics, different rotors, it is much more lighter, doesn't have retractable gears and I don't believe if any Mi-24VM/Mi-35M variants existed with fixed 30mm side cannons. Just for example, Mi-24VM's cockpit: So you're practically wishing for a another module than DCS: Mi-24P.
  25. @YoYoYeah they're getting close to the real deal but I still miss some proper smoke when shooting missiles. I think it's very possible that smoke visibility is very dependent on weather, time and light and many other factors, for example even type of fuel in the rocket and type of rockets themself. When you shoot unguided rocket's on Mi-24 theres very seldom a wow factor - unlike on those photos. Except when they hit of course.
