This is a joke. It's an imaginary way and not how this works in the real Mirage. Why RAZBAM do not develop this functionality properly? Landing waypoint... mission editor... Come on, seriously? A pilot should be able to program this from the cockpit without any DCS toy landing waypoints and mission editors.

It is now approaching September in 2018. I am wondering if we still need to set a ridiculous "landing waypoint" in the mission editor in order to be able to use the Synthetic Runway feature? In the real Mirage one obviously does not need to do such thing - and since we are talking about a simulation, I am wondering why do we need such imaginary steps to achieve this? The full approach should be programmable from the cockpit, without a "mission editor" which is basically a toy and should not be required for the aircraft systems to function. If a "landing waypoint" (what a joke) is still a requirement in a so called simulation of the Mirage 2000 then it's kind of disappointing. In that case we have a fictional RAZBAM aircraft that is really cool but is definitely not a Mirage 2000.

Despite being night, it's way too bright in this new map. Tried flights out of Shiraz, Kerman, Lar, and the whole landscape is clearly visible at night time, the ground, the mountains, everything. It's totally unrealistic, makes NVGs absolutely unnecessary since one can easily see without them. My gamma is set at 1.7, and I have been using the newest Open Beta.

Adding the Mi-8 to another country
Spathiphyllum replied to Spathiphyllum's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
I found that the problem occurred because I was using the default Notepad. Using Notepad++ did the trick. Thanks for your response! -
Hello! I've been looking for help as I would love to add a third party Mi-8 skin (that of the Hungarian Air Force) to Hungary. By installing the skin, it "defaults" to Russia. However, I would love to add it to Hungary. The problem, however, is that in DCS, Hungary does not have the Mi-8 listed as an available unit. Fine. I found information that one needs to edit the ...Scripts\Database\db_countries.lua file, adding a line to the desired country, as described in the below thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181434 So I added the Mi-8 to Hungary that way. However, after doing all this, DCS simply won't launch. Any chance someone knowledgeable knows what is the issue? I've been using the latest version of Open Beta,

Hello all, Would someone please be kind and make a Huey skin, that of the 5° Reggimento Aviazione dell'Esercito Rigel? Their 27° Gruppo Squadroni Mercurio currently operates the single engine UH-205A, which is a licence-built version of the Bell UH-1H. It is used in the medevac, logistics and tactical assaults roles. For tactical missions, it can be equipped with the M23 system, adding weapons to the sides. This way, the helicopter can carry a 70mm rocket launcher and a Beretta MG 42/59 7.62mm machine gun on each side of the cabin. It would be awesome to have a repaint on one of these licence-built Hueys in the simulator. Thank you for your attention!

This exactly!

I am wondering what is the "57" supposed to be when looking at Kerman airport, Iran, from within in the mission editor, written after the Kerman VOR frequency and three letter code? When, however, in game, calling for the F10 map, it does not show the number "57" as it did in the ME. Is it supposed to be a TACAN channel or what? There seems to be no TACAN working at Kerman so I don't know.
-
What I find weird, in the mission editor Kerman airport seems to have a TACAN at channel 57 but when in game, the F10 MAP does not show this and there is obviously no TACAN available. What is the "57" after the VOR at Kerman then?

Exactly, the FARP looks like a small mountain. Very ugly.

Cockpit shadow bug with pop-up GPS Purchased the NS430 base module as well as the relevant device for the MI-8 module earlier today. When using the pop-up GPS (tried only with the F-5) there is a weird shadow coming along with the unit. Goes away when the pop-up GPS is closed. I am wondering if there is anyone testing these before putting them on the market? Track attached. ns430.miz.trk

The OP is right. Reported issues via many channels - not a single confirmation or response from the developer. Very unprofessional.
-
I don't think any further upgrades / enhancements will happen to this module though. At this point I'll be happy if the misaligned pylons/bombs will be fixed.
-
Fair enough. Still, the option to employ the AMRAAM would not hurt. If you don't want to use it, just leave it - while those who want to could go ahead and do so - and everyone is happy.
-
Not only YET, it won't EVER get a land ILS. Unfortunately. At least that's what Wags replied in a FB post - Navy Hornets don't have ILS therefore the DCS Hornet will not have one either. What we can hope for is a field carrier landing system kind of implementation at some point in the - most probably very distant - future.

Thank you!

Agreed. Also, what I found is that whenever I select the AIM 120 it is in VISUAL mode.

FCS BIT switch responds even while typing in chat

If it's around for over a year, why it's not fixed? Known bug, yet none bothered to fix it? -
[FIXED INTERNALLY] AIM-9X Seeker Sound stuck
Spathiphyllum replied to Revelation's topic in Bugs and Problems
Now that it's fixed internally, will there be a quick hotfix or do we get this fix with the next update by the end of August? -
It's been fixed internally already. Hoping for a quick hotfix.

[FIXED INTERNALLY] AIM-9X Seeker Sound stuck
Spathiphyllum replied to Revelation's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same issue. Even after landing and replacing the weapon with two 9M missiles via the Rearm and Refuel menu, the tone is still there. -
