I'd trade all my modules for a proper weather engine, man, this is a flight sim, clouds and weather is THE most important part in aviation. Ehy DCS is lacking on this core feature is beyond me.
-
It is completely broken, same with the Mustang. Engine dies sometimes w/o reason. The module we paid for isn't working. There is a bug with those engines and we are left alone since two years with it.
-
I think the Aux tank is not modeled and with a dropper tank you use the drop tank circuit breaker. Thats at least what I am doing.
-
The trim axis command in the 109 is broken. Three different players were testing it, all had the same problem. When the trim is bound to the axis command, the range from 0 to 100 is wrong and bugged.

It is always better to lower saturation and no curves. Curves just do not work linear lol, your brain can't trust a curve setting so to speak. Nothing wrong with using a curve though, just what makes you feel comfortable. Just saying that curves tend to mask the aircrafts characteristics. Flying a warbird without curves and proper hardware should be your future goal. Good luck!

No curves here, it is highly depending on the used joystick, base and extension. If you buy lets say a base with a 20cm extension, desk mounts to mount it between your legs you get rid of those curves pretty quick. Grab a bottle of water at the lower bottom and try to make small movements, grab it on top and do the same. Gives you an idea how an extension works. Best advise would be not to buy the Warthog base, the stick is awesome but the base uses a horrible gimball system which is just bad. I have it, put it back into the box after 15 minutes. Using huge curves because of bad hardware kills the modules intended flight characteristics. A Spit was sensitive as hell and is a dream to fly with an extension and no curves at all. Buy a proper base with cam system like VKB or Virpil, with extension and a monstertech desk mount for centered use between your legs. If you are short on cash, the T16000 is cheap and just as good as the Warthog. Same system. If it happens you live in Europe you can buy my Warthog base, brandnew but you have been warned :-)

[REPORTED] Dora lost Speed/Power Open Beta 2.5.6.50979
River replied to iFoxRomeo's topic in Bugs and Problems
So she is back to normal performance now? -
The cowl flaps control wheel under the avionics panel also desperately needs some different bindings. Make an axis for people with an axis center knob / wheel. Then we would know when the cowl flap wheel is back to center i. e. auto. We still don't have a horizon uncage axis like in the 109. Thought I add these here... Thanks.

Nothing has changed for me NineLine. The Dora keeps blowing when flown at say 2700 RPM. Sure we could just go 2900/3000 minimum to work arround that bug but that is not correct aircraft modeling. Dora should engine should of course work at recomended cruise RPMs. Please give the lady more love, take a close look at the engine damage model, change the gun safety behaviour to like on the 109 and A8 and lots of people say the Dora lost speed, climb performance a few updates ago. Give the lady some love, she is a massive part within DCS WW2. Thanks Nine!

The Dora still has this weird engine blow bug when cruising at lower RPMs like 2600 / 2700. The Dora is known for random engine failures for two or more years now. This is confirmed by other users, for example Storm of War players and the workarround is to just keep the RPMs at 3000 or higher which then seems to prevent the motor from blowing up. I tried to attach a track file but the forum says it´s too big, was just a 6 minute flight or so. No idea how to prove it as others have problems to repeat this in SP tests. Attached are two pictures which are 5 seconds appart. The engine was fully warmed up and I never went above 2800 RPM during this flight. The engine died three times during three sorties. THIS IS A MAJOR BUG, KNOWN FOR A LONG TIME. The Aircraft we bought is not working as expected. The new cooling update yesterday did nothing to it. The engine keeps blowing up for no reason at lower RPMs. The module is not working as it should but we paid the price you asked for.

Thx

New weather / cloud engine.

So quiet on a stable version ww2 servers.

I prefer SoW as it doesn't allow labels -
Only two pages Dora threads left, where are all the older ones ?

We fly on a server without MW50 available. Anyone got experience how to fight the Jug without MW50?
-
RL pilots will confirm that the propeller disc is not at all or barely visible, this has been discussed many times.

What is the name of the Autopilot disconnect button (red on flight stick) in the controls ? Would like to map it. Thx

Due to a new family member I wasn't up to date on the latest WWII server discussions, thx for the detailed explanaition Chuck. Problem without MW50 is it was meant to cool the engine too. Will switch tactics ... Expect a high flying german ))) -

Are there any plans adding MW50 again for the axis planes ? I get the point to make it a better match historicaly but a K4 for example will remain a K4. Think it just limits the player base, many just don't want to fly that way. Diffucult desicion I know, server is great by the way. -
Maybe ED or YoYo can give us an update about this ... It needs a change.
-
We are talking TrackIR mate ...
-
kills all the imersion, we need a fix for every module.
-
Of course, already edited. That was bad advice haha. Thx

After connecting go forward and up. Practice this first. You can go a lot forward and up till the Tankers wing is almost in the middle of your HUD. Avoid wakes though. This gives you the feeling how much actualy you can move back n forth, up n down without disconnecting. And you can move a lot!!! Just take the tension of the refueling tube. Watch rudder inputs! Your airspeed changes only because of rudder inputs, if not happy with that constant changes, put the feet on the floor. The more the wings are swept back, the easier it is. After a few hrs practice you can refuel in auto mode. Trim your AC to the tankers speed, better a little slow trim than too fast trim. Pulling your stick is easier than pushing. Seat height in the cockpit a little lower to see more of the tanker. Good luck, enjoy...
