Maybe they just have to set the AP Input AND the Cyclic Input back to zero after a trim press. In your post you write that the AP input is taken away when we press trim. So the Cyclic input is still present and makes the Helicopter overshoot the trim spot all the time. More frequent trimming gives much smaller trim steps, gives us smaller Cyclic input leftovers and makes for smoother trimming / flying.

Interesting read !!! That sounds like a RL Mi 24 Hind pilot would experience the same AP "kicks" after pressing the trim button. I don't buy that. Your post is a very good explanation of the AP problem but in it's current state the Hind is not combat ready, nor would it be IRL if the AP kicks the aircraft around after a simple trim button press. The systems may be not exactely the same, the AP works different but at the end of the day a Hind will fly like a Hip, like a Huey, like a Blackshark (with Flight Director on). An unintended and very dangerous "kick" of the AP after trimming the aircraft is plain wrong and needs to be fixed.

Hello? ED? New clouds wobble!!! Anything?

Why P-47 is so much harder to control than P-51?
River replied to brucewhf's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
After the last patch the P 47 trim only gives you 50 percent range when the trim is bound to an axis. It's a bug atm, just FYI -
Any advice for night missions / NV goggles?
River replied to Snappy's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
A lot of weird answers, it's a lighting bug and nothing else. Turning off Doppler or Radar Altimeter during a night mission is insane. -
thank you, yes I find it too still weird. The Mi 8 flies like a dream, wish the Hinds trim gets an update soon.
-
Can anybody tell me if the trim bug is still there? Thank you

Napalm was indeed used in WW2 by P 47s. We should get it in DCS too.

We need a "true" toggle water control option
River replied to River's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Jesus, I want it on my thumb button just like the real Aircraft. But most thumb buttons don't work like the RL throttle... simple toggle command would fix this. -
+1 Normandie needs more historical accurate airfields.

cannot reproduce I can move my head outside canopy glass
River replied to River's topic in Bugs and Problems
1st it got fixed, 2nd I don't fly VR for that reason. A sim without canopy limits isn't a sim. Enjoy your views! -
[NO BUG]-25 and -30 have different key binds but only one entry
River replied to Nealius's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's a bug for sure, lost all my bindings a few days ago. Restarting DCS didn't help. -
correct as-is P51- insufficient shot damage
River replied to INTRUSO_BR's topic in Bugs and Problems
Best indication is when the die hard Axis MP pilots try out the Allied aircraft. It's mostly a matter of a few flight hours till they switch back. -
Think ED can't fix it. Those wobble clouds kill the whole sim experience.
-
Hope they get this fixed soon, terrible in 2D. Kills the whole Sim Exp.
-
Same here 2D, only Flight Sim were the clouds wobble when looking arround with TrackIR. Looks like a shockwave. Is ED aware of this?
-
In my experience the P 47 keeps rolling left a bit even when rudder trim (ball centered) is spot on. We can counter that by giving slight right roll input or using a tad right aileron trim. In the P 51 I never use aileron trim, in the P 47 a bit to the right.

P-47-30/40 water injection control
River replied to JesseJames38's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Just opened a fresh thread on this topic, didn't know we already have one. Agree, we need a true toogle to asign to a button. The current toggle workflow is weird. -
We have a momentary and a toggle command to bind for water injection. Toggle only works when pressed after / together with the momentary. Only then it locks the toggle for water injection. Nobody has a on off switch on the throttle thumb area, so we need a true button toggle for water in the P 47.
-
But the engine damage from enemy fire is still a joke compared to the axis planes. Otherwise it's a fine fighter.
-
I opened a fresh thread, think the D 20 RE would be a perfect fit. Should be the same as our current Jug, except Dorsal Fin and Bubbletop.
-
As the P 47D 20 RE Razorback is the same aircraft as our current DCS P 47, I'd recommend ED doing this as and additional option like the Clipped Wing Spitfire. The only changes as far as I can tell is the missing Dorsal Fin and the Bubble canopy. These aircraft were built in big numbers, flew during WW2 in Europe and are even more iconic than the later P 47D versions we have in DCS. As the changes between the two are minimal it shouldn't be to much effort giving us a Razorback P 47D. It would be a great addition to the existing plane set we have right now. Thank you

Aileron trim wheel in cockpit gives right bank when turned counterclockwise. The manual says it should be the other way around. The in cockpit trim wheel animation is wrong!
