Hi, It'd be useful to have an "already used flag" detector for complex mission making. Or some tool that populates a list of existing flags in a mission. Thanks -
I made several attempts using the same weather settings (wind 348° at 5 m/s) and AI planes will not land of RWY 24R. Though, they will land on RWY 24L. Pls see track files. AI Viggen cannot land of RWY 24R.trk AI Viggen can land on RWY 24L.trk AI MF1 cannot land of RWY 24R.trk

I'd like to have the equations please. Also, unfortunately the aerobatics task won't work when the main task is anti-ship. It does not work with AFAC, pinpoint strike, etc. also. But it does work with ground attack, intercept, CAS, etc. How strange! Yes indeed. It is very useful!

Thanks Machalot! I did try the aerobatics task. It works provided the following is done: Set a 180° turn Empirically find out the roll angle for a 3 km turn given the aircraft's speed (I'd very much like to find out how you mathematically make this kind of calculation) My finding was: Speed ASL altitude Turn radius IAS1 TAS1 IAS2 TAS2 Mach Alt1 Alt2 G load Roll 3 000 meters 398 mph 396 mph 736 kph 734 kph .60 mach 500 meters 1 645 ' 1.74 55 ° Set an area where the turn ends Make a triggered action (switch to WP2) and it works. See imagenull

Thanks.

I'd like the AI to make a turn with a diameter of 3 km (it may be 2.5 or 6 km, it does not matter) at mach 0.6. I made a drawing to explain what I'm trying to do and what the AI actually does.
-
I made a video to show what happens when I try to make an AI Viggen make a turn around a large radius.
-
The airspeed was mach 0.6 (730 kph) at 500m ASL. When you say: I understand what you mean. There's a max number of Gs given a certain speed and turn radius. But what I'm looking for is to make the AI make a a turn that is well below it's max G for a given airspeed and turn radius. A very loose turn.

Hi, I'm designing a mission where I'd like an AI Viggen to make a 180° turn on a 3 km radius (6 km diameter). The issue is the plane will invariably make 78° rolls. It seems unable to make a sustained turn with any other value of roll. Is there a way to instruct the AI otherwise. E.g. turn with a 20° roll?

I just tried SNEB Type 253 F1B HEAT on T55 tanks (being shot at from the side or rear): damage per rocket that hits is 5 %. I understand your point is that a HE rocket gives more damage. I'd also like to emphasize it also seems the 253 HEAT rocket does not cause enough damage.

Sight reticle and ground attack with rockets or guns
Leviathan667 replied to Leviathan667's topic in DCS: Mirage F1
After a few days watching videos on basic surface attack tips and tactics (see videos below) and practice, I do handle the plane better. The solutions lies in trimming the plane and using more trim to correct the pitch in order to minimize reticle movement while also keeping an eye of the ADI to make sure the plane stays level when aligned with the target (I find the radar reference in the sight misleading when it comes to assess whether the plane is level or not). An issue with this is that I have to zoom out to be able to see the sight and ADI at the same time. Since the targets are very small (IFVs, APCs), this makes aiming quite difficult. Also, the rockets are very ineffective. -
Same here. Two SNEB F1 HE hits on a BMP-1 only damages it ard 24 %.

Hi, is there a way to cage the sight reticle? With the reticle being stabilized by the gyro, it has a tendency to wobble with the slightest stick movement. Thus, it is very difficult to target ground vehicles and accurately hit them with rockets or 30 mm shells. I usually aim slightly below the target and let the reticle slowly run its course to intersect with the target. This method requires micro-corrections to the attitude and lateral movement of the aircraft, mostly using trim. But with a wobbling reticle, I end up overcorrecting most of the time. Any tips?

Hi, there does not seem to be a 3-pos bind for the flaps?

Hi, Per manual, page 25, there two fuel transfer sequence configurations. But there is no discussion on their respective merits. What are they? Switch to LISSE (CLEAN) Switch to BIDONS (EXT. I've just been fine tuning the AB detent (Warthog Hotas). I'm sharing the values I use: Automatic curve (non user and non slider) Mirage F1CE Deadzone Saturation X Saturation Y Curvature Slider Invert User curve Axis tune Thrust 0 100 100 23 N N N JOY_Z Issues: works well with the physical AB detent. But the engine is too sensitive to throttle movement at low RPM. So, I am trying to find a way around using a manual curve or a slider curve. User curve (non slider) Mirage F1CE Deadzone Saturation X Saturation Y Curvature Slider Invert User curve Axis tune Thrust 0 100 100 N.A. N N Y JOY_Z Column A B C D E F G H I J k Value 0 3 5 10 15 26 44 59 73 85 100 Result AB AB AB Full mil. User curve with slider Mirage F1CE Deadzone Saturation X Saturation Y Curvature Slider Invert User curve Axis tune Thrust 0 100 100 N.A. Y N Y JOY_Z Column A B C D E F G H I J k Value 0 18 31 43 52 61 69 78 86 94 100 Result AB AB AB Full mil. I hope this helps. And if someone may further refine on these values, it would be awesome.

Hi, There are 3 possible positions for the flaps in the F1: Up, landing position and down. The warthog hotas throttle has a 3 pos button for the flaps but only 2 can be mapped for the F1. Only two are given a number: 22 and 23. The middle position has none. Is it possible to allow for the mapping of flaps up with button 22, down with button 23 and landing position when neither buttons are active. Thanks

I am very impressed by the quality of the module! And the availability of many AI versions for the F1 from day 1. Thank you Aerges.

Hi, the AI Mirage F1 Cr and CT can carry Super 530D missiles. Is this a stopgap measure until the S530F is available or did these planes carry S530D IRL?
-
I think 80$ for 4 versions it very reasonable especially the M version is almost a different plane avionics wise

Hi, How would you expect the Mirage F1CE to perform in WVR guns only 1v1 against a : MiG-21, 23, 29/Su-27 F-4, -14,-15,-16,-18 or -104 Mirage III or J-35 What do we know of the plane’s performance in terms of turn rate, instantaneous and sustained at different altitudes?
-
Thanks for the table. It is helpful. Yesterday, I flew at mach 2.30-2.33 with a clean F-14A (AIM-9 and -54 pylons on). See tacview file at 15:17+. Mach 2.33 could not be sustained and was attained for a fraction of a sec at 17:47 (the plane was not level with a vertical speed of abt -500 ft/min) and again at 17:50 (the plane was in a very slight climb at +65 ft/sec vertical speed - see image). Also, wind was 2 m/s blowing to 99° while plane's AZ was 94° so that may have marginally helped. Other factors: Temperature ASL 16°C QNH 29.92 Mission file below for whoever wants to try it (it's a custom AAR mission). nullnull F14A AAR Il-78.miz Tacview-20220716-220823-DCS-F14A AAR Il-78.zip.acmi

Hi, Do you know what the following concepts entail for combat flight (see text in bold)? Thanks
