I'd like a Buccaneer too. And that HB makes it before or after the Tornado. I think they know what they have to do for the next 5 years

I am one too. It took me two years to figure it out. And then forgot how to do it.

Thank you for the "Wrath of Thunder" Campaign
Leviathan667 replied to Istari6's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I also did like those two campaigns very much (and the red flag one). Now I need to spice it up so I am turning the whole Mjolnir campaign missions to low vis/bad weather conditions and see how far I can go in fulfilling the missions. -
Hi, 1) Is there a landing circuit drawing to help understand precisely what should be done and when exactly (so far I Follow what I learnt flying the L-39 with the 500 kph/500 m Adjustement for the mig-19)? 2) How can I check the fuel quantity if the gauge stops at 1400 L? Thanks

Just flew the MiG 19 Training M03. I did take off and then headed towards Sochi. After I landed there, I noticed that from the cockpit, the outer half of the wings where missing. Using the F2 view, the wings where whole but the ailerons where missing. In the debrief, there was no mention of damage to the plane. I am using the latest OB. See attachments (trk file and screenshots) Since the size of the TRK file is 14MB, I compressed it into two zip files.

Please, dont forget about keybindings for „19”
Leviathan667 replied to YoYo's topic in MiG-19 Farmer B
Just started flying this module. Went through the cold start lesson and found out the following: +everything that rainyda just wrote about: + Keybinds are also missing for AChS-1 chronograph (see screenshot of the L-39 keybinds for an illustration) + There is no light for fuel tank #2 (left side console) (see screenshot #2) -
If the campaign is taking place in the 1950s, then I would definitely use WWII assets as they have played a very important role during the Korean War. It also stands to reason if there had been a separatist revolt in the Caucasus in the 1950s, Western powers would have provided the insurgents with military hardware that was cheap and abundant and not too complex to handle for non professionnal fighters.

Hello, I am new to the MiG-15. I am reading the manual and, at page 57, on the AGK-47B attitude indicator, it is written that: I would like to verify my understanding: Is the turn indicator marker sensible to the effect of crosswinds on the airplane’s trajectory and angular velocity? Does “deflection for one turn bar” mean the deflection of the turn bar for a distance equivalent to the width of the turn bar? What does 180.0 mm stand for? Thanks in advance

Hi, In the last mission of the Kursant campaign, there is a "real" engagement with an enemy vehicle column with AAA and IFVs. As you are equipped with two FAB100 and two rocket launchers, you have to destroy the column. The issue is all those manoeuvers that have been taught in the previous training missions require you to first overfly the enemy position at 500-600m and then engage in maneuvers that will allow you to engage the enemy according to a fixed set of parameters (essentially dive angle, speed and altitude). The enemy overfly part at a relatively low altitude is when one is very vulnerable. Yet it has to be undertaken beforehand in order to find a satisfactory firing solution. I find this tactically difficult to justify. So the question is: why are these maneuvers taught to aspiring pilots?

Hello ED, I'd like to suggest adding the following key binds to the warthog_hotas.lua file for the L-39C and the -ZA to allow for a new three position switches binds: 1. Flaps using the grey flaps button on the throttle 2. Spotlights to use the 3-pos switch on the left of the throttle lever 3. RSBN mode to make use of the 3-pos autopilot PATH - ALT-HDG - ALT switch It would help simmers. And we would not have to edit the lua file everytime there's an update. Thanks
-
It works! Thanks

I've been trying to make the RSBN 3-way switch work with the PATH - ALT/HDG - ALT switch on the Warthog Hotas. The aim is still to make the 3-way switch on the hotas behave like the 3-way in-cockpit switch for the RSBN modes: LANDING - NAVIGATION - GLIDE PATH. The issue is still on the hotas, there is not any electrical impuse when selecting the middle position. So DCS has to consider an absence of input from that 3-way switch on the hotas to mean the button is in the middle position. But something went wrong: Original lua code: My code: I suspect whats wrong at the beginning of each line: Here we have this type of code and it is different from the one used for the spotlights: Is there a way to use an iCommandPlane_SOMETHING to work the RSBN mode switch?

Navigation using RSBN beacons and grid maps
Leviathan667 replied to Leviathan667's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Heck. I had it under my nose the whole time. Thanks -
Hi, In the Kursant campaign, mission 4, there is an interesting explanation on how to use RSBN beacons to navigate your way in the air and control for any course deviation (see text in-between quotes below). In order to help pilots make good use of the RSBN beacons, there is talk of maps with azimuth and distance grids available in the kneeboard. But they are nowhere to be found in the kneeboard. Do you know where these maps can be found?

Kursant mission 2 Wrong wind direction
Leviathan667 replied to Leviathan667's topic in Bugs and Problems
thank you. After reading your answers, I don't even understand why I asked that question :) -
Hi, in the 2nd mission of the Kursant campaign, we are supposed to take-off and land on runway 22 (219°). So the wind direction should, as advertised, be 039°. But it is 219° instead.
-
Thanks svs :) Did that. I get a trim that remains stable for a few minutes before I have to make a slight adjustement up or down with the stick. Is this the outcome you get or do you really get a permanently stabvle trim (is this even possible given the fact thje plane burns oil and becomeds lighter?)
-
In final he just wants you to fly at 230+ KPH when lowering the flaps at 44°. You have to let the speed slip to 210 KP¨HG or slightly more afterwards, before passing the runway threshold. then land.
-
Thank you Dora! After a small adjustment, I managed to make it work (removed an excess } at the end of each line :

Do you mean the heading is subject to major changes after take-off from the CV? In the vicinity of the CV there will be some magnetic disturbance on the AHRS. Apart from this, I unfortunately cannot answer your question as I am puzzled myself. But maybe I can connect your question with some things I noticed: I did notice the heading is not accurate most of the time, wether one is close to the CV or not. And I do notice on the Compass control panel there's a desync between the AHRS gyro and magnetic azimuth. I can see the AHRS heading is wrong when I compare with the one shown for my auircraft on the F10 map.

Hello, I've mapped the landing and taxi spotlight to the 3-way switch to the left of the throttle lever (Warthog HOTAS). Unfortunately, I can only chose turn either landing or taxi but never turn it off. The throttle switch middle position won't translate to the same position in the virtual cockpit (for spotlight OFF). I've tried to fiddle with the Throttle - HOTAS Warthog.lua file like I did to map the 3-way flap switch on the throttle with the 3-way flaps interface in the virtual cockpit, following this thread (it worked): Original lua: Modified lua (I added the red text): Does anyone know how to make it work?
