  1. Should really do a fresh install of the Operating System - reduces the risk of problems. the Mobo and CPU really are the computer
  2. Cheers Flat Terrain Shadows was set to ON
  3. not too sure if this is the right section... Aircraft shadows appear to be occluded?
  4. perhaps, if DX was left alone (without outside interference) to do its thing... but then you end up with third party (VGA witchery) trying to bump the TIR onto one, the AA onto another, and other, and causing all sorts of hiccups in the process. If the sim/ game itself ain't "multicored" (in the true sense) turn the Autothreading to OFF, don't leave it set to AUTO .........................` Don't believe me? ... try it, and try it honestly - before reacting
  5. Which is why, in our NVidia Control Panel, we should set the Autothreading Optimisation option to OFF instead of leaving it at its default setting of AUTO
  6. Conair :)
  7. must have misread... my apologies 24bit 48000 Studio Quality in use atm, on a Creative X-Fi Recon - all clear
  8. Yeah... I've noticed that too. Saitek Combat Pedals put the Startup into a Boot Loop (X99 and Windows 7 64Bit) Razer Keyboard, fine; Thrustmaster Warthog, fine; Razer mouse, fine; Naturalpoint, fine; Saitek, not fine (with or without drivers installed). Thanks Drexel... but does that affect a USB keyboard and BIOS entry?
  9. well... what really helps is that you offer up, at least, some idea as to what your Sound card is, along with driver version, operating system and motherboard specs. Some Creative cards, earlier X-Fi releases, had a lot of popping associated with them... but not with all systems (iirc, the problem was Latency related?)
  10. Emergency/ Carrier Training traps would be nice :)
  11. Thank you and (yes, I read all the "forensic" on Wiki too ) the fact there is Software, even though specialized which can find data (supposedly) on not properly scrubbed discs - suggests what?
  12. FFS, its just a matter of reinstalling the operating system onto the same size Partition... you've said as much yourself And yes, it does matter... Crikey, what is going to take to get through?? You, previously, have experienced all sorts of problems - there should be a clue there as to WHY we're here to help you man - all you have to do is listen
  13. yes the "index" if you want to call it that, is removed... but that is all which is removed... and when the "index" is put back in again?? I'll leave you here, with that thought
  14. How can there be "no pathways laid down" and "in fact it is those very pathways that are erased"? Researching removing the Partition ;) You may think it is "pointless wear" and claim so... others may not. I guess it just one of those areas where everybody has their own ideas, yet some wonder why they have problems ...................' the nice thing about running a disc for the Operating System, and another disc for the DCS (or other game/ program, etc; is that both discs can, if needed be, be accessed simultaneously (side by side) Two partitions on the same disc makes accessing take turns you've answered your own question there...
  15. yes... that's scrubbing :) but what isn't wanted is previously stored information retained on the Disc, because when that disc is only "reformatted" its laying down the pathways again to the previously stored information. There is every reason to wipe a drive before re-using it. And always use a separate disc from the one Windows is on, to install DCS onto
  16. 3200K (standard car headlights, not halogens - they're about 4800K... the older standard house light bulb, etc, etc) shows up gold'ish to the naked eye viewed from distance Also, is that lovely wave effect of the nightlights rippling through the cityscape, viewed from distance
  17. and, if re-using an already formatted and loaded Disc, don't forget to scrub the Disc before re-formatting
  18. yep... default landing mission for the Warthog, is great Kudos to the developers and bravo for the hardwork... night time disorientation is amazing Standing Ovation
  19. Rules of Engagement should be considered?
  20. Oh man... a PFM 262 - please? pretty please? and some buzzbombs
  21. .
  22. hence the warning on being "wary about running the tool" (which is clear to see)... but it does give a clue as to what the problem may just be, and another (more acceptable) solution, considering many different search engine results all offered the same 'probable' cause. Could also be (looking around further at the mobo, being reasonably old now) the caps are doming
  23. c000001d error indicates Operating System corruption http://winwiki.org/exception-code-c000001d/ I'd be wary about running the tool offered and are you running AVAST anti-Virus?
