  2. That crowd will start to mind when they jam asymmetrically and they can't trim out the resulting roll...:)
  3. The redesigned flap jamming and drag model will be in the next patch, it will give you plenty of buffer over Vfe before things start to break, but I'm sure it will catch a lot of people off guard who like to abuse the flaps.
  4. We're still looking for the cause of this issue, hopefully it will be fixed by next patch.
  5. It is WIP, flap jamming and drag is being worked on.
  6. You can go much faster than Vfe right now with flaps extended, but problem is they do not jam early enough, it is WIP.
  7. The flaps are WIP, I'm working to make them easier to jam when severe overspeeding happens with full flaps deployed. The truth is that we don't have much data on the flaps when fully deployed at speeds far above the 225 KIAS deploy limit. The flaps on the cat are very large and accordingly will contribute significantly to drag at high speeds. I will likely tweak the drag again once I've made them easier to jam. The primary driver behind this is a large number of people using full flaps to gain an unrealistic advantage in BFM in a way that they would not be used in real life. This comment summarizes things nicely: https://old.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/gwmihq/so_just_curious_would_a_thick_f14_boi_with_flaps/fswjof3/ In an effort to make things as realistic as possible, we must also eliminate "gamey" exploits such as this and do it in a way that is as consistent with reality as possible. Dropping full flaps at 300+ KIAS to turn inside an opponent should and will have consequences.
  8. This is incorrect, you stay kneeled before launch and the strut should decompress right as you go off the end of the catapult.
  9. Seems like it's not entirely fixed even though we tested it and it appeared to be fixed.
  10. Check the FFB special option in-game.
  11. There's a manual, you know...:book: http://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/ Start there and maybe go download the NATOPS while you're at it.

Not sure why the link doesn't work anymore, but we're waiting for things to settle down with the carriers until we fix this. We've already fixed it just to have it break again and want to avoid duplicate work. When you see it in the patch notes is how you will know it's been fixed.

  15. I've seen that mod before, but I'm too afraid I'll end destroying both my MS Sidewinder and VKB sticks in the process.
  16. That sounds like a DCS problem to me, all we do is ask if FFB devices are present from DCS via the API. I can look into it but won't promise anything. Super low priority.
  17. It changes how the trim operates specifically for FFB devices. The special option essentially makes it so that the trim actuator functions like real life (moving the neutral position of the stick). With that option checked you can hold your FFB stick in a fixed position and run the trim without causing the elevators to move. Force on the stick will increase the farther away the stick gets from the trim position, and as soon as you release the stick it will move to the new trim/neutral position. When using a spring stick or not using the special option, the trim offsets the elevator position from 0. This method works for spring sticks that cannot move their trim position but doesn't work well for FFB since FFB can actually mimic real trim actuator operation. FFB operation is way closer to real life than spring sticks. It sucks that there really aren't many good FFB options on the market, I use a VKB stick for most things since my MS Sidewinder 2 doesn't have enough buttons.
  18. The trim operates correctly, there is a gearing ratio between stick position and trim, and the trim does not travel the full length of stick travel. I wouldn't worry about the controls indicator too much.

  22. Found the cause of this, will be fixed next patch.
  23. We're waiting for things to become more stable regarding carriers, we've already recently fixed this internally a couple times just to have it break again a few days later.
  24. Does it feel like the aircraft is like 2-3 times heavier than it should be? I think I encountered this bug while trying to fix the kneel switch. I was spawning from parking hot on the old Stennis, kneeled and hooked up to a shuttle and launched, dropped like a rock even with full aft stick. It happens every time. If I spawn hot on the runway/catapult everything behaves like normal. Let me know if you can reproduce this!
