  1. Getting same f14 error and super slideshow performance tonight despite restart, repair, restart pc, restart quest 3
  2. Back when the C2 tank killer came out, before this recent update, and before the C2 campaign edition (thank you so much btw!), when I wanted to do this campaign in a C2 and I was going into ME and replacing the C with C2, it would do this. swapping the flight from C to C2 and doing nothing else would adjust its parking spot. This was before the open beta update, so shouldn't have anything to do with it. Fix was going in ME and assigning another spot and then back to the one desired (ie. spot in original campaign was 11, I go into ME and swap a-10c to a-10cii, look at wingman's spot, says 11, but if you zoom into the map, he is in 12. edit spot to 14, back to 11, and hes in the right spot)
  3. happened to me as well prior to the II revamp coming out, when i would just go in and swap my flight for IIs, it would say the spot had not changed, but if you zoomed in on the ME you could see that it had, and needed to be moved. When i just flew M2 in the II revamp and it did it, I was like "aaaaaaaayyyyyyye, I know what went wrong here". should have checked for it :)
  4. ordered mine not knowing about the stock issue, no indications of being out of stock when i did it, but then didnt get shipping notification after their advertised two business days so I reached out. they were pleasant about the stock issue and said it would be shipping today (will check back tomorrow), but no price hike so far.
  5. with grid coords on the horizon now per the mini update, i'm curious...how are the alpha characters entered? does it prompt a few grid zone options for the surrounding area or something? Since the hornet lacks a keyboard per se. example: "4QFJ 1234 6789", how will we enter 4QFJ?
  6. perhaps outside of 8nm? that iirc is the laser range
  7. not atm. one day.
  8. i was pretty impressed that he didnt ignore me and try to plug actually. but red crown/strike has some explaining to do
  9. first off, what an AWESOME experience to relive the lo fuel state tanking coming off the engagement over iran. I made it there with about 600 and felt the very real stress to plug and get out of dodge. excellent mission through and through and one of the most visceral experiences ever felt in dcs. bravo zulu when finally taking those beautiful first sips and easing my nerves, something caught my eye very close aboard in my mirror. a mirage M2000C arrived on top of me. position and distance were like a certain tomcat and a certain mig 28, only he wasnt inverted. fully expected him to collide and end a perfect mission in failure and frustration, but he just hung there. not trying to tempt fate, i got all i needed to make it back to mother and booked it out of there. "hmm.. whats that mirage doing there?" -- wags
  10. Will the Lincoln keep steaming long after you shut the sim off? ayyyy
  11. i just wish jester would recognize a trap. he calls my traps bolters a lot.
  12. i got into such a stable hover in autpilot the other night that I wasn't quite sure DCS hadn't froze on me.
  13. just got the F-5E and yeah, she's squirelly. Time for some curves. I don't use them in anything else.
  14. he flew hornets too though, and I've heard that from other hornet guys as well. And then of course if they fly rhinos, its out of their hands anyway.
  15. I always have to double click and scroll forward one click, as my VR eye point is normally too far back (if i look down, i'm looking down the pilot model neck hole). so it may have been a fix for that, but since people may have saved more forward positions to counter that problem, the fix put the view too far forward?
  16. but...as just shown, the flag is not backwards. stars forward on each shoulder.
  17. can see how it would look strange at groom though lol
  18. 3 wire the first time, 4 wire every time after for me.
  19. flew several case 1s last night, felt great and stable, with on speed at about 130-135
  20. i have to move my viewpoint forward a few inches, but other than that it feels fine. I've never been in a huey though.
  21. With menus set to off in the VAICOM PRO control panel, and no button being pressed, the comms menu in the sim cycles on and off every 5 seconds or so. Does anyone have a fix?
  22. OP, couple of things i've noticed in this thread. -i did see from your video that you were pretty far inboard on that KC135, like you were lining up on his #3 or 4 engine instead of the wingpod. asking for jet wash. alt was good, but lineup looked way off. - you do get much less visual feedback on the S3 as the canopy bow blocks it largely, even in VR. this makes it more important than ever to line up on the pod and nothing else (and slightly left due to the robe offset) -wiggle fingers and toes and constantly be making the tiniest movements but constantly. like a boxer doing footwork. loosen it up, but not wide PIOs, just a constant stir on the stick and the throttle. you will never be 100% on speed and 100% straight and level, so if you stop either hand from slightly moving, you are setting a pattern into the wrong direction no matter how trimmed you are. -you've shut Jester up, good work. his crap does not help. -vamps was trying to help on the groundspeed vs airspeed. reread the thread in order, and it makes perfect sense and he didnt state any opposites. you came off as very hostile and dense, blaming everything and accepting no help. if you set 250 groundspeed, that s3 is nowhere near speed. it's crawling at stall speed for you. ramp up that ground speed to get 250 kias. if its working, when you lock him up and you are at 250, closure should be 0. -i almost spit out my coffee hearing that it was thought you should be refueling at stall speed. even landing isn't done at stall speed, and you are trying to hit the ground! no wonder you're getting crazy PIOs and being blown around. a stiff breeze would do it, nevermind a tanker wake. -for me, i crack the brake juuuuust a bit. this seems to help with the overshoots, so when i bring the throttle back i lose speed more appropriately. -getting in is easy, staying in can be difficult. doesnt seem to follow the physics of those hose...seems to be an invisible box that if out of, you're out
  23. i've been a lot better about getting on lately, but the physics while connected are frustrating. I'm in position, cruising along, no violent drifts and boom, hose ghosts through the probe and i'm disconnected.
  24. nothing feels better than getting on their six and watching that pipper slide soooooo smooth towards them. brrt.
  25. So do you flip any of the hold switches or just the engage switch?
