OK, let's talk about aileron trim. In DCS, it is very coarse and I consider it unusable. I have my best luck with a deadband of 1 and nudging the freeplay in my stick, which actually works pretty well. Is DCS aileron trim too coarse in adjustment, compared to RL L-39?
-
Yeah, that's it. "I got nuthin." (slang for "I am stumped") Any chance you could elaborate on it?

I finally was able to get an instructor for my first hood run. Probably the scariest thing I have done in a sim since the old FS98 days. Every modified nav aid in the NTTR works better than the Caucasus map, and you don't have to fly across the map to enjoy it (AO server). The DCS L-39 is just a joy to own.

Everyone in such a hurry to experience new bugs and issues, to find out they need to upgrade and other such joys of starting over again. MP servers will be filled to the max and quite unstable. Initial DL's will be agonizingly slow. Even a guy based in historic reality is looking forward to it! :)
-
Issue has nothing to do with the L-39. Issue is East vs West types of planes (and flying with an AI dummie). In a day or two, you will be at ease with any numbers and it wont matter. otherwise? Nothing is going to change. Dead horse here... :)

Looking great Kadda! May I ask what the significance of the 30mm or so aluminum round piece on the face of the panel? Always wondered about it... Lower right corner.

OK.. have added a working RSBN at McCarran. This is the last edit I will do until I hear from spirit_desease. RSBN Channel 40 for McCarran. File removed. See last post in thread for latest version.
-
spirit_desease file with Nellis 21L on PRMG channel 22, McCarran 25R PRMG on channel 21. F10 Airfield info does not update these channels for some reason. edited later: corrected 25L typo. PRMG is on rwy 25R at McCarran. Works wonderfully! Hood landing is now possible in NTTR. File removed. Please use latest version in next post.
-
Yes! I forgot to turn it on (Landing mode). Be sure to set QFH. PRMG working perfectly at Nellis 21L PRMG channel 22. Get those hoods out. Not a final version of spirit_desease's mod. Spirit_desease: could a RSBN be added at Nellis so we have navigation/glide slope/landing modes?
-
Hello, I spent some time copying and pasting and I believe I am seeing PRMG response on runway 21L at Nellis. I am seeing flags change and the localizer works for sure. Perhaps it can be fine tuned for the glideslope. I have tested it online on the AO server after installing the beacons.lua. Use PRMG channel 22. Please note this file is for testing only and not a final version of spirit_deasease's mod. I took the file down. My second test showed it not working. Looking into it.

Hello, You sure you are looking at the 2.0 install and not a 1.5 beta? If you have to, Right click the start button and use search for beacons.lua

Request of Aerobatics Online/Virtual Aerobatics Server

Thanks guys. I think the Havoc server restricts exports. I could be wrong. Let's hope an admin can answer your request. -
Request of Aerobatics Online/Virtual Aerobatics Server
JG14_Smil replied to Scarecrow84's topic in Multiplayer
Scarecrow84, I came to this subforum searching for a thread similar to yours, I hope you don't mind me joining in. Good luck with your request! I was wondering if it is possible to have F10 map options decided by the client - for example, I would like to disable my icon and navigate properly without knowing where I am at. I know not everyone wants this, but I'm not sure why the easier settings have to be forced(?). Please note two L-39C share a same parking spot at McCarran (the two RT models, and #2 has a wrong skin). AO is a great server! Is there a way to support it? I was just about to join the old VA site when it went away. -
Advice on triple 35" ultra wide 144hz monitors
JG14_Smil replied to TEMPEST.114's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, I've been running multi monitor for years now and when I use single monitor for testing I find it hard to believe I ever looked at just one 'small' monitor ("small = 32" HDTV!). When I fly, I am looking at near life-sized views. There are good and bad points, but it is amazing! Please note I don't fly combat anymore (at this time), so I fly pretty steady and refresh rates aren't so bad. Refresh rates are what get you, not the FPS. I've been able to get the same FPS numbers with my multi monitor setup as when I run single - this took about a year of testing every single item I could find. Refresh rate is most important on taxi turns and in helos (very critical in helos). My monitors are setup as PLP, and I run my cockpit setup in the void under the landscape middle monitor. There are good and bad points to this, but the best thing is it is pretty efficient for fps. I am guessing you want a LLL setup with your three ultra-wides. All landscape setups give an unnaturally wide view with a lot of distortion. I also saw severe stuttering in my LLL tests, but if that is what works and what you want, go for it. Others are doing it and can chime in. Truth be told, anything more than your actual peripheral view is cheating (it is also distorted and under very high refresh loads). If you use a TIR, you will have to develop specific techniques for multi monitors. It requires aggressive curves for the TIR, constant toggling of the TIR and re-centering for viewing different locations (up and down). You simply cannot look sideways at a ultra wide setup. Good luck! -
Outstanding! Location of this (these) file(s): C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\terrains\Nevada C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase You can run both beacon mods as they are two separate installs.

Sully_pa: On your Mainpanel: Click 'Detail' Pos X 1920, Pos Y 0, Width 1440 Height 900 (Pos Y will depend on how your monitors are situated. I am assuming top edges are lined up). Transmit close cockpit/show cockpit save if you like it. Beware of file location as it will change if you have searched anywhere else, for anything else (this is a bug!). To edit locations of gauges: Configuration tab: Editor Mode. Drag and drop to position the gauges. To edit size of gauges. Instrumentation tab. If it does not show all you gauges, click Instruments tab, then back to Instruments Functions tab. Clicking a gauge will highlight what to edit. Edit size just as you edited position. You can drag and drop gauges and Ikarus items. Always close/show cockpit to reflect changes. Save when done.
-
Res setting works fine. Position setting works fine. If you are making a custom Ikarus program, you need to delete or move the default Ikarus program that is getting loaded when you get into your plane. IF your position settings are not working correctly, look into scaling of your desktop monitors.
-
If a gauge is missing, you can use another one with exports for the plane you are flying. Just edit the DCS ID with the export listed in the mainpanel_init.lua. This can work until proper gauge artwork is complete and you can find one that looks close enough for you.

Adding a Track IR Reset/Reload function ?
JG14_Smil replied to Hueyman's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
I've used TIRs for over 10 years and have never had one stop working in DCS from going to sleep. I have a checklist of items that need to be started before I run DCS. It is easier to remember to turn on the TIR on than to expect ED to make changes to DCS. I disable all the sleep crap on my system. If I'm not using it, it is shut off. Best wishes, -
In the macro_sequences.lua file for the Ka-50. The #2 engine attempts to start before the #1 engine start cycle has finished. Note "Start" button is pushed before the green "Start VlV" lamp has gone out. An easy fix, but the file is in Russian. It is a bona-fide bug. The dismissal of it is why it remains unfixed. :smilewink:
-
There is absolutely nothing going wrong. What are you using for views? A joystick hat? I could see the problem if so. Edit a snap view to your liking. If you are using VR or TIR - you are supposed to lean to look around the seat. L-39 is a sim. F-15 is FC and shouldn't even be in DCS (my opinion... I'm allowed). I do note I saw numbers for "shoulders" in a lua file, but I forgot which, so it is editable. Best wishes to you,
-
You're worried about that??
-
If you are using 3 screens, try raising the "Y" value of the outside monitors.
-
Have you tried bezel management? It should reduce it if I remember correctly. You can also try moving the viewpoint up and down to see how that might affect the mismatch. (RCTRL/RSHIFT Numpad Arrow keys). I am unable to use any bezel management as I use '1 screen' and a PLP monitor setup (portrait, landscape, portrait). Before DX11 came along, we had SoftTH which really is a multi monitor user's best friend. I can only hope it gets updated to allow use in DCS again. I don't like the mismatch, but I've come to ignore it and just enjoy my setup. I also lower those outside monitors a bit to equalize it. I am curious to hear of any other ways to get the horizon to line up better.
