See if scaling or under/over scanning makes any difference(?). It will be in your display adapter control panel (you don't say which card you are using).

You know, I can remember back in Ground School when I learned how large the magnetic variation is out west. I thought, how in the $#@! do they fly with that? I guess I am learning. Sure is a lot easier around here where I live! :)
-
To go True North, we fly Magnetic 012*. We add Km-8 correction and our DG now has us flying 024* The Km-8 should have subtracted the 12*, then DG would have us fly 0* True, 012* MH. That's the bottom line as I see it.
-
Yes, Thanks much as usual Frederf. We are I'm complete agreement about what you said in the post above. In my test situation above, there is no good reason for the DG to say 040 degrees. If I fly 040 when I should be flying 028, I will end up dead in the desert. In RL, we lay out a course with True North and TH, then the correction is added to our TH to get our MH. (I am leaving out wind/speed for now). In DCS, correction is added to the MH, which then gives us an erroneous number. My point is highlighted in bold. Thanks for helping me learn this again. It is starting to feel like a losing battle as I was taught one thing and I see something else in DCS. I will soon stop beating this dead horse.

Is one inverted and the other not?

Hello, have you tried letting it rebuild the saved games DCS folders?
-
This is great! You go guys. Looking forward to no more bugs like PRMG and SDU pointers.

Hi Don, L-39C and L-39ZA are two different planes. You need to setup both separately. Make sure your axis are OK. Be sure you are on latest build. There was a bad bug in previous NTTR builds.
-
Hallo Herr Galland, Are you referring to two players flying the same plane? Or single player switching seats? I am taking a guess that your back seat guy did not have a setup L-39 axis?
-
We have a winner! Brilliant. Add "dismount hood" to that menu and I'm all in. :)

Thanks to both of you. I am doing a lot of refreshing. Pineapple Pete is spot on, it is basic Ground School stuff and that is exactly what I am asking about. WildBill, I'm really referring to the NTTR, haven't made that clear as of yet. Very different there from where I flew at home (long ago). No RSBN, no ARK, just Dead Reckoning basics. I have to get my terminology back up to date! Example: NTTR Instant Action, Take off mission. Lined up on Runway 03L. Magnetic heading is 028 degrees. DG heading is 040. KM-8 Correction is set to +12 degrees. DG and MH do not match with KM-8 set correctly. Set KM-8 to 0. DG and MH now match. Incorrect KM-8 setting. So, In DCS, correction is being added to MH (magnetic heading), which is wrong and should be added to TH (true heading). Is the bold statement above true or false?

Hello, I thought I would ask this here so it stays focused on the L-39. It has been a long time since I have flown and I have forgotten a lot. I was hoping to ask some refresher questions here. This will be important in a bug hunt I will be doing in the future. - True North is used only on charts(?). Magnetic North is used in flight. - A digital gyro (DG) is set to match the magnetic compass in pre-flight, correct? That is all for now. I will be asking some chart questions later on when I get a screen shot. Thanks in advance for help.

Hello, When flying MP in the L-39, the pilot can never properly set magnetic correction as the KM-8 correction mechanism is only assessable from the rear cockpit, which is off-limits to the pilot while flying in MP. In a nutshell, everyone that flies solo online cannot fly realistically. Making the bindings for the KM-8 available to the front seat pilot is the easiest way to allow this to work. I have found that finding a person that even knows how to operate the magnetic correction is a very rare thing. Please let me set up my own aircraft. thanks, best wishes.

I won't be much help, my system is pretty old and I run 60hrz on my triple monitor setup. I use a 4 year old version of TIR software as the newer version conflicted with my Phidgets LED controllers. I can manage 90-100 fps in 1.5 DCS and my TIR functions properly at all times. That is great you are collecting info for NP and I hope it goes well for you. Best of luck.

GTX 1080Ti but not a great fps improvement

It is a good idea to use some kind of sweeper software to get rid of old driver files. It is done from the Safe Mode to get them all out. Something is not right. I get near three digit performance in 1.5 and my system is four years old. Triple monitor too. -
As of the latest 1.5.6.4546 build, the L-39 rear canopy will still fall off. Use of auto stop and auto start will trigger this bug repeatedly. Note that placing the 2.0 version of Macro_Sequences.lua into the 1.5 folder fixes this bug.
-
Latest version update 1.5.6.4546. "Rear canopy falls off" bug remains. Repeatable. (auto stop/auto start triggers this bug) 'Master Warning' and 'Canopy Unsealed' lights remain on and rear canopy will fall off during takeoff. ------- Placing the Macro_Sequences.lua from the 2.0 build in the 1.5 folders stops this bug dead and rear canopy seals correctly. **REPORTED**

Hello, The mission designer causes that. Last time they edited the mission, they left the map zoomed in. You can try editing the mission. If you are talking about online, you're stuck with it unless you can talk to the mission creator.

Hello, Try turning off DOF. Depth of Field. -
Hi MisterVince, Yes, I saw same behavior in that mission. Looking into the editor...
