Bug: Killed but able to fly
JG14_Smil replied to Coxy_99's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Might be an issue with multi-seat aircraft. One dead pilot is not the end in this situation(?). Another issue is I watched a Hawk fly around and land with only one wing yesterday. -
You're the man, Capt! Looking forward to it.
-
Ignore the ZA/C idea. The ZA doesn't get smoke that I can see.
-
Hi Marten, Trying t help you out here but I am unable to make a fire in the ME. I'm a one-life-to-live kind of guy and don't know how to die in DCS. :)
-
Renat: I'm guessing you have an issue with the button mapping between the C and ZA versions(?) They use two different default.lua files. Make sure you are mapped correctly for both planes. Smoke works. (Guy taught me how to use it.) :)

If you go the CnC router route, don't forget you will need dust collection and a way to cool the cutter for working with acrylics. Having a CnC router is great. :)

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=172025&highlight=smoke Sounds like you are doing it correctly. You have the airspeed?
-
I watch these cluster formations form up each day as I fly. That is how 90% of them end up. :)

Hello, I found this link about flying the L-39. I thought it was an interesting read. http://www.warbirdalley.com/articles/l39pr.htm

helios/export.lua broken with latest update?
JG14_Smil replied to donbinator's topic in Home Cockpits
Fix export.lua for DCS1.5.5 !! 12/Nov/2016 Hello all ! With the dcs v1.5.5 the export.lua dont work anymore. if you are using one of my export.lua, look for this line: os.setlocale("ISO-8559-1", "numeric") here are instructions to fix the export.lua and comment it like this: -- os.setlocale("ISO-8559-1", "numeric") That fix the problem. Meanwhile i am going to revise why this line dont work. Thanks a lot to alpha7-bravo4, he discover the problem a couple of days ago! This should fix you up. There has been a lot of changes since you last flown. -
helios/export.lua broken with latest update?
JG14_Smil replied to donbinator's topic in Home Cockpits
This has all been covered. You wan the export lua in your saved games/scripts folder. You may have to create the folder and you may need to manually copy it there. You may need to delete or comment out a line in the export.lua. I'll have to go find it as you don'ts seem to want to. -
Yes, works great! Purchase module, do not activate it. Open support ticket and give order number, module serial number, ED username and email address after selecting gift option. That's it.

Any spring that is close in size and tension will work. Just do some searching. Nearest Hobby Shop is a sure bet. Hardware store would be cheaper. Funny - I had several bins of assorted springs at my disposal when I was working. All I would have to do is walk and grab one... retirement is still better. :)

Current status on multicrew functionality
JG14_Smil replied to KansasCS's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
I thought I would add this here as it is kind-of on topic. When MP missions are created with the L-39, there are some advanced options that can be set. You can set "solo flight" - you will see an empty back seat and no one can join in your aircraft. I think, from reading lua files, that there is 80 kg less weight in the weight/balance setup of the plane. The IFR hood can be disabled. (meh...) There is no ILS, so the hood is not very scary anyways. "Control priority" of the plane defaults to the Instructor. As it should be in real life, but this scenario (instructor in back) is so rarely used that it would be better if this was set to "pilot" or "ask always". No idea of how "equally responsible" would work (option 4). The default setting means that 3 out of 4 strangers that go into the rear seat will spoil your flight. I've had to stop letting people try it out because of this. Probably best if it was set to "pilot". Would really love to try multi-crew as it is meant to be used. :) -
Hello, I don't interact with AI very often, but last time I followed a vector, it took me to a glide path intercept. I've given up on this as they won't even point you into the wind for landing. Pointers point towards the beacons, so it depends where it is located in relation to the airfield. You see them next to or in-line with runways most often. Now, it seems to me if you know enough to ask this, you were in the situation to learn the answer by just following the instruction you were given by the ATC(?) :) There can sometimes be a big difference between what the manuals say is supposed to happen and what actually does in DCS. Translations can make it hard to learn also. Best wishes and enjoy,

Display too big for the screen !
JG14_Smil replied to Clearday21's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In your user/saved games/DCS/scripts folder is options.lua. You can set your resolution there if you are unable to do it in the setup due to your problem. -
Your brand new system will be obsolete in 5-7 years, even if money was no object, but you will have enjoyed DCS for many if not all of those years. Pit building is a very enjoyable hobby to some and projects are never really finished. Flight simming is a wonderful hobby, probably the most important hobby I've had in my life, and I have had quite a few. Life is just too short to choose not to enjoy it. Build that system!

Ikarus is great and I could not make my L-39 cockpit without it. I do hope bugs in the L-39 gauges are corrected. Namely the HSI course needle is off center when in use and the PPD-2 distance counter "10" number is coded incorrectly (numbers go " 92,91,80, 89, 88, etc." - the ten number does not rotate as the others do, it just flips). Also VSI gauge numbers are incorrect from the original ("2" should be "10", etc.). Not bashing Helios. Love it too. Best wishes, If you were to link it with outputs to Phidget's libraries, I would gladly pay for it.

No, I have it working... I was doing something wrong. I was at Mozdok. Thanks for posting.

Thank you sir. I've looked through the menus and it looks like a go.

Custom lua files disappear
JG14_Smil replied to bones1014's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've seen this happen. You can always edit options.lua to assign the setup file. I think I renamed one of the working files and pasted in my custom numbers and then it finally showed up on the list in the Settings menu. Make sure you save it in the .../saved games /DCS/config folder. -
I found the End of Descent light to be working when online. The 'second' SDU switch slaves it to the ADI pointers along with the HSI pointers. I can fly to an RSBN airport under the hood. I just cannot land with it and I guess that is how it is with this plane (just like you explained it to me ;p ).
-
OK.. I made an offline mission and poof! There was the "End of Descent" light. Nothing online (but I do plan to go over that SP mission and the planes settings one more time). Is there any chance someone can test this online in a MP server? Merry Christmas!
