1. yes 2. no 3. it shows on the EW page aswell If you want to see the quantity remaining you need to have the ALE-47 to ON. My recommendation is to set up custom programs for program 1 and program 5 so you can select program 1 and active it with CMS aft and activate program 5 with CMS forward. A good example would be: Prog 1 - 5 Flare 0 Chaff 1 Cycle 0 Interval Prog 5 - 0 Flare 5 Chaff 1 Cycle 0 Interval

I've heard similar things myself, but I cant produce any evidence for it so I leave it to ED to research that.

The reason I reported this is because the logic has changed from how it used to behave. Previously, STEP would command the step box on the highest priority track and then cycle down through the tracks after each successive press. And if you had a TUC on the SA page then it would command the step box to the TUC. But now it works 'correctly' when TDC isn't assigned to the page, but with TDc assigned to the page. You can no longer command a step box on any track, even though the button still moves the cursor.
-
The STEP function of the SA Page only works when TDC is not assigned to the SA Page. When the TDC is assigned to the SA page it displays a behaviour of snapping the cursor to the previous STEP track without actually showing the STEP symbology. SAstep.trk

When adjusting the brightness of the RWR control indicator panel, the backlight appears to not be adjustable and instead will begin to blink at about half 'brightness'. BlinkingBacklight.trk

Is that not just an artefact of the camera used to film?

It certainly doesn't help that the flight profile for Harpoon in DCS is way too high
-
Wouldn't it be safe to assume it works the same way as a maverick does? Something that has no range information yet still lofts (or 'G Bias')
-
DCSMP as Ex posted above, does exactly what you are looking for.
-
Its a long standing bug that after a cold start you need to press ATC twice to engage it the first time.
-
Would be nice to have the corresponding correct HSI layout as a result.
-
I wasn't talking about the cruise ATC. I meant how approach ATC has been behaving in DCS prior to this update. Namely pretty good other than it cutting the throttle for several seconds at engagement
-
I mentioned Echo because its described as 'used in tactical situations where it is necessary to have a tanker available with which receivers can RV in a known area on an opportunity basis' which seemed most appropriate to DCS. I personally won't be trusting an AI to do Delta properly. I'm curious however what the difference is between Alpha and Echo. From what I can gather Alpha is controlled by an external radar station, where Echo is more self contained. Also its interesting to hear that Echo is used to drag fighters around when I would have imagined Foxtrot would be the one for that. I'm curious to hear what you think the most appropriate RV would be for the DCS environment where you have a dumb tanker that wont be moving and no external intercept control.
-
Kinda sounds like it's behaving exactly the same as it was before they 'added' it.
-
Remember to trim onspeed before you engage ATC, I imagine the resultant of not doing that is the jet cutting the throttle as you are 'very fast'

Judging by the mention of IRIS-T, ASRAAM and the words 'Royal Australian Air Force, Spanish Air Force, and Finnish Air Force' make me think that list is not exclusive to USN/USMC hornets.

correct as-is Hornet take-off from carrier without catapult
Swift. replied to wernst's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Theres also a section about it in CV Natops, so I imagine its something thats been considered. -
Correct, hornet doesnt have any boresight procedures yet
-
Hornet is still missing a few HOTAS things, but the main point is that it was designed before TPOD was on the cards. For AA hornets HOTAS is a masterpiece.

Never lead a low ball literally means don't intercept from below. Taking the power off when low (in order to 'curve' onto GS) would be considered 'intercepting', instead you keep the power in until you are on GS and then correct. The opposite being feed in the power when you are high coming down so you don't go low.

Reading up on real world tanker rendezvous, there appears to be only one that might be feasible within DCS. Namely RV Echo. However this rendezvous requires the tanker to pass through the RVCP at a specific time and maintain a specific track tempo. The request being made here is that we have the ability to control the bank angle of the tanker that it will hold throughout the fuelling process. So we can set 30AOB and it will never turn with anything other than that bank. The effects of this change will mean we can have a consistent time per orbit and allow us to properly execute tanker rendezvous using at least some semblance of real world procedure.

When you watch real ATFLIR footage, there appears to be a distinct image 'flicker' that happens as the lens switches over. Its a minor thing, but something that would add some grit to our hornet.
-
Yeah the default non-head tracking view will point you a little bit below the HUD. Its not really an issue to just recentre your track-ir type device to wherever you want it though.

Any update on this? WP/RP Rockets are undeniably something our hornet should be able to carry and are possibly the simplest change that can be made on hornet right now seeing as all the modelling, effects and FM have been done, all that is needed is a 2 min code job to just add in an additional rocket. The public evidence of this feature has been provided to the relevant stake holders. For reference: NAVMC 3500.50A (14 DEC 2010) NAVMC 3500.50D (29 APR 2019) J-Fire (NOV 1997)
