  1. OT, but on that note, is it possible to encrypt the radio and communicate with F-14s? We couldn't make it work with my squadron, I'm thinking that the KY-58 and KY-28 are incompatible. No idea I'm afraid
  2. They used to be, wouldn't be the first time ED regressed in the sake of gameplay
  3. For sure, I'd still like to see ARC-210(DCS) though, it would mean we have the ability to cipher comm 2 separately from the KY58, making it possible to encrypt both radios.
  4. DCS in this case means digital communications set, it's a different version of ARC-210. Last I checked the ED hornet should have the DCS. iirc that's the sequential AFC with JHMCS and MIDS
  5. Caution, this info may soon become outdated. The current implementation of MSI in hornet is lacking, and should hopefully be fixed soon. A track is a track, the MC doesnt much care where it comes from.
  6. To the first point, I never said hornet cant carry BRU-55. Just that it cant load GBU-32 thereon. To the second, an interesting find. I took the time to read the relevant section of MP-AVT-108-13 (an unclassified technical report on The Use of Statistical Tools to Improve Modeling and Simulation of Store Separation) What is contained within is an analysis on the use of computer modelling to simulate stores separation testing. In which it describes the GBU-32 on BRU-55 on Hornet as 'successful' in that the statistical tools successfully repeated the flight testing. Deficiencies in that report, are that its only assessing the suitability of the tools, not the suitability of the stores on the aircraft. And that its related to stores separation, nothing to do with interference and carriage.
  7. So what we are seeing in Wags' are several Neutral or Ambiguous Tracks being shown on the Attack page. The tracks will remain this yellow staple/box shape until something or someone IDs them as either friend or hostile. What you are seeing sounds like what happens when there is an AWACS in theatre, who will ID the tracks for you. This will make them all show as Red Triangles or Diamonds. Radar elevation you want to set so that the number on top of the TDC is higher than the targets altitude, and the number on the bottom is lower than the targets altitude. If you aren't seeing numbered red tracks, then maybe attach a screenshot of your problem so we can better evaluate.
  8. How'd you figure that?
  9. TBC/D, it's a function but we'll have to see how the OFP ED are modelling handles things.
  10. That's not a sound like of reasoning, for example MER is capable of carrying 6 mk82s, but hornet isn't. There are more things that limit store carriage than weight and wiring. Think about aerodynamic effects of jettison or release, including interference effects one the surrounding stations. Think about asymmetric roll limitations; could a potentially uncontrollable load be created by hung stores.
  11. Additionally ATFLIR should work better with MSI once ED have that up and running. Also the Litening we have is from a very very very old OFP.
  12. How do you know its possible then? Have you seen it?
  13. ASPJ wasn't even carried by USN/USMC hornet, it would damage the avionics rack on arrested landings. They used the old ALQ-126 instead. iirc there was one USMC squadron that used them once, I can't remember why though.
  14. Out of curiosity, how do you know that's ATFLIR?
  15. It is in no dispute that GBU-32 can be carried on BRU55. The question that has yet to be answered is whether Legacy Hornet could carry GBU-32 on BRU55, there has yet to be evidence presented to support that claim.
  16. Some of our JHMCS features are very new iirc. And of course we have a lot of stuff that is way too old, eg walleye and SLAM
  17. Remember that ATFLIR was first sent to the rhino squadrons, as they couldn't carry Nitehawk like hornet could.
  18. So FLIR in this case is what the hornet refers to the TPOD as. NFLIR is the Navigation FLIR that is in question. And whilst it is known that the ability did at one time exist to use NFLIR, it was effectively none existent in ATFLIR and gone long before our hornet model.
  19. Looks like hornet, you can even see the advisories and cautions bar.
  20. We are? Where did you find that info?
  21. depress TDC whilst the cursor is not over a trackfile.
  22. Nothing has changed, where are you getting your info from? Because that sounds to me like you are saying that there were no more OFPs after 2005? What about GBU-54, AARGM, etc etc. Also quick note, FA-18E cant carry rockets. APKWS in general did require a software update afaik for the aiming and targeting of said weapon.
  23. Thats the whole MSI thing that hornet has, its there for general SA.
  24. Its a surface track. Means someone else on the link network has designated a target on the ground.
