Loving the new Mossie Monday Series. Well done.
Steve Gee replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
Yes, well done. Makes me look forward even more to this fun crate coming soon. -
F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
Steve Gee replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Wouldn't a Block 1 Super Hornet be feasible? No idea how many made it to the fleet, but there were some delivered. I'm not talking 2-seater, at least not yet. Just the single seater. It's pre-AESA radar and shares many of the same systems with our current C. Sure, I know most would want a version with AESA, but I'd enjoy a Super Hornet for the extended range and time aloft it gives. -
As the title asks, what's next...jet aircraft wise from ED? It seems that the jet crew could have time on their hands, so to speak, with the Hornet coming out of EA soon'ish.

Thank you, good sir.

Sorry, as I've been away a bit and just got the chance to climb back into DCS and for some reason, I don't seem to be able to engage Autopilot in either A or B. I was wondering if there was a change in the procedure, as before once you had everything turned on, you pushed the NWS button to reference/level and viola. Now, no viola for me.

In the Taxi and Takeoff training mission, if you follow the voice prompts for Spacebar, you will end up with a loud C-130 RIGHT behind you as you stop just before taking the runway for that last minute check(s). Not sure if this was planned or not or a happenstance.

Guessing that timeline has changed?

Bringing their newly announced IL2:GB# C-47 into DCS, if it is the same Ugra Media, would be a nice what's next IMO.

Heatblur Update - Supersize Me & Public Roadmap
Steve Gee replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Everyone has their "big 3" that they think HB will be doing next. All of them have connections to the Tomcat/Viggen in some way, as well. Multi-seat, ground mapping radar, swing wings, naval operations, and many other features. The already announced A-6 fills the majority of the aforementioned commonalities, too. No one seems to think HB might just take us down a totally new flight path with the other two after the Intruder. -
Heatblur Update - Supersize Me & Public Roadmap
Steve Gee replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Good to see the current modules become complete, or at least out of their Early Access periods before firing the drafting tables up for the flyable A-6 plus two more now, as well as back to the original 4 carrier plans, just spread out over time/modules...thank you for the Saratoga in advance, last two models a SC-style paid DLC perhaps, with more era styling? -
I run 3 monitors at 1 screen/5760x1080 (old and going blind) and the F-14's loading screen has never worked for me. I reported it before about 6 months back, but it pretty much got blown off so I figured I'd wait until the two year mark came, which was when the Tomcat was originally planned to be completed, but that didn't work out due to Covid and other factors so here I am again. When a mission loads for any plane in DCS, eventually there will be a "splash screen" or whatever it's called, showing a lovely picture of the aircraft you are about to attempt to land on a carrier deck, for example. Usually with black widescreen TV borders with one side of the aircraft coming outside of them. Well, when that screen is supposed to happen I see nothing but the same old cloud background that you see when the mission initially loads. I see all the stages the mission is going through while it loads and even the aircraft designator at the bottom, but no plane picture. I'm not running any mods whatsoever. I have run many a full repair after numerous patches and it's NEVER worked. Viggen's splash screen works fine, F-14 no workie ever.

Comparing the A and B missions in Instant Action/Caucasus/ Carrier Quals CVN-73 with the Supercarrier, there's a 10 FPS difference for me now that wasn't there before 2.7. I'm guessing it's due to weather conditions differences between the two missions, but I don't delve into missions that come with planes, I stay away from those folders. Default High settings with Shadows and Civilian Traffic on Low. Off to compare other A vs B Instant Action missions.

Would it be possible to move the controls indicator overlay for FC planes to the same side of the screen as the full fidelity modules? It's disorienting to glance over for reference and it not be in it's usual spot, ala the others.
-
I've had that problem a few times post 2.7 as well, it's not just you. It's like all map functions have frozen.
-
There's been no difference in volume levels for me using either AUTO or 5.1, which I have. It's all muted somewhat. I'm just going to sit down this weekend and adjust everything one at a time until I can tell a difference.
-
You would assume wrong then, at least for me. I turn the volume up to max for that or either radio no matter the airplane and all AI radio calls such as AWACS and ground ATC are still somewhat muted since 2.7.

In the new training mission for the MiG-29S explaining the BVR R-77/R-27 missiles, one of the sections (where you're told to cycle between the types of missiles) is in Russian while all the others is in English. You still have the subtitles in English, just the audio in Russian. Edit - listed wrong mission
-
Which volume slider controls the loudness of the ATC calls for the Supercarrier? Are they different if you have it checked to hear like wearing a helmet?
-
I always found it's use as an adjective was better to explain a situation.

Decided to revisit an old friend and go through the Su-25T's training missions that come with DCS World. Everything seemed fine in the first one, until I started to move and I experienced a weird stutter from the internal F1 view. I didn't notice it in the external F2/F3 views, but it was in F1 every time I went to it. For comparison, I fired the Su-27's initial training mission up (same setting/airport, just different planes) and it ran smooth as can be in any view, as it always has. In the next Su-25T training one on navigation, it ran like it should from inside and out and in every other one as well, just that initial one, no matter how many times I try it, it stutters. I just would hate to see someone get discouraged with their DCS introduction because of a bad mission/object causing problems.

F-22A Raptor mod enhancement mod
Steve Gee replied to Nightstorm's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Does this make the MFD buttons depress to match MFD's you have? If so, much appreciated. What does it replace, as I've yet of find a default.lua in the mod. -
Recently changed control setups and decided to give the VAICOM/VA duo another try, but for some reason I can't license it using my license number and the program keeps telling me to "check my email" and nothing ever shows. Has there been a change in the program that I'm missing?

Great job on this mission pack. Well done, good sir. I've been wanting to re-learn the F-15 for a few reasons...mod or two coming out using it, plus it's my favorite crate of all that I would buy instantly if ED ever made in full fidelity. Outstanding work.

As previously mentioned, the Tomcat(s) and the Hornet are Supercarrier compatible. Those two have missions made for them by their developers that come with the plane package(s). The Harrier can land on it as well and I'm sure take off but I don't believe any missions come with it. The Kuznetsov/Su-33 package that came with SC is fun and challenging, just not to the level of interaction the DCS Nimitz-class carrier is. The wonderful A-4 mod is also SC capable with minor SC glitches, if you are interested in those things. With the free trials going on, it's a perfect time to see what's out there for you.
