There is a new indication on the EW page under emitters. It's a half-circle that appears to show in certain situations which I can't 100% pinpoint regardless of which of the 3 bands the emitter is in. What exactly does this mean? Also, I've seen an emitter flash in the middle band. What does that mean? (Before, they only flashed when in the inner band.)

The top and bottom of the DDIs/AMPCD is cut off on some pages. Here are some screenshots of the RDR ATTK. Noticed it also particularly on the DATA>A/C subformat of the HSI as well.

[MISSING TRACK FILE] Maverick then GBU-12 select?
Jak525 replied to ST0RM's topic in Bugs and Problems
I was thinking the same thing as Reynolds. In the IMAV DSPLY format, you can see your A/G weapons at the top, but you have to return to the STORES page to select them. Select "MAVF" to return to stores (or go to the TAC menu and hit STORES). -
[MISSING TRACK FILE] Maverick then GBU-12 select?

Can you post a video? -
Hey Wags, question if you don't mind--from a pilot / aircraft software perspective, is there any difference at all in the Litening vs. ATFLIR?
-
Angle of attack, purely. When the velocity vector is in line with the middle line of the E shape, your AOA is 8.1°. If it's above it, your AOA is more than 8.1. If the velocity vector is below it, your AOA is less than 8.1.

These are all part of the surface radar function which is coming later in early access. Yes, they're coming. I've heard these modes in specific mentioned by Wags once before IIRC, but they're just sub-modes of the radar's A/G mode. EDIT: that post you linked says so; "A/G radar with MAP, EXP1, EXP2, EXP3, SEA, GMT, PVU, AGR, IRA, and TA"

To my understanding it doesn't actually cue the targeting pod, it just designates an A/G TGT which you can use alone or look at with the TGP (or HUD/HMD) to refine. So it's not exactly a targeting pod feature but an aircraft-wide feature. It probably won't be with the TGP update, IMO, unless it's mentioned specifically.

What Harker said. I think one of the upcoming main things for the Hornet is the navigation system in general - HSI functions, inertial navigation system, etc.
-
Indeed. F/A-18 is certainly my favorite module. It's come far since it first came out -- yet, it still has far to go until completion as well. Great job to everyone working on the Hornet. Looking forward to all the new systems to come.

One would hope. I believe, whenever the next Hornet update is, they plan JSOW, dual-mounted JDAM/SOW, and radar MSI.

AACQ not displaying L&S symbol and doesn't perform NCTR
Jak525 replied to Jak525's topic in Bugs and Problems
Additional information for this bug -- when not using LTWS, the L&S star does show up on the RDR ATTK regardless of whether the STT was obtained by TDC depress or AACQ. -
Actually you can use the undesignate button. But the manual says you should also be able to do sensor control right.
-
Just fyi, Wags said that one of the next things coming for the Hornet is a detailed simulation of the INS/GPS system.

While not functional yet, there's some cool stuff it looks like we'll eventually get in the HMD settings. "CLOSEST FRND", "TUCD TRACK", "DONORS", "EW" (RWR)... sounds pretty cool. Sadly, it doesn't look like, at the moment, most of the options to toggle visibility of certain elements are working, even some of the ones that are already functional (e.g. Sparrow/AMRAAM FOV, HMD elevation). Regardless, didn't know if anyone noticed this yet, and I thought it seemed pretty sweet.
-
This is what I was thinking. Guessing the 29th.
-
Agh, just realized I posted this in the main forum... move to bugs if possible, thanks.
-
You'd think that yeah, but Wags actually said in a video specifically you cannot do CCIP while having a TGT designated. Apparently in real life it's actually a tactic to designate a TGT (thus having AUTO symbology), rolling in, then undesignating so you can use CCIP to aim and release.
-
Normally, when a bomb program is CCIP but there is a TGT designated, it will act as if in AUTO. However, if you designate a TGT before setting CCIP mode, it doesn't do this.

Each missile type can have its own settings for bar, azimuth, PRF, range, and aging. When you hit the SET button, it saves those settings for the currently selected weapon - so, when you switch to another weapon and back to that missile, it will automatically go to the last saved settings.
-
Somehow I completely forgot about Mavs and HARMs lol, let me edit. Thanks!
-
The SET function indeed works. It's on the right side of the RDR ATTK format.

Approach ATC isn't implemented yet.

The Hornet has a lot done but also a lot not done. Do give an idea: Navigation systems: Autopilot, except for couples mode All navigation capabilities except offset waypoint, military grid, and automatic carrier landing system Coming soon is fully / deeply modeled INS/GPS AA systems: Air to air weapons are complete Air to air radar is missing some general options like electronic counter counter measures, speed gate, and setting channel. Range while search is the only mode right now, but track while scan is coming soon AG systems: Guns and rocket are complete. Dumb bombs and laser guided bombs are very near complete. JDAMs are work in progress. No targeting pod or surface radar yet, but the pod should be in June. HARMs are WIP. Mavericks are complete. The rest of the planned AG weapons aren't in at all.
-
I think it'll be on the 29th along with RDR ATTK multi sensor integration (MSI). I hope we get some more JDAM/JSOW features in general as well
