  1. I noticed during anti-AShM testing that the Phalanx didn't fire (or at least appeared not to) on fairly good abeam targets almost coming in directly at one of the mounts
  2. Doing some testing against AShMs. Two tests so far, both against 3 Type 45 protecting a QE Carrier. Test 1 was 16x KH-22. 7 were shot down. Test 2 was 12x KH-31A and 4x KH-21P. 4 KH-31A and no KH-31P got through. I saw two issues. The first is regarding the Phalanxwhich couldn't score hits even in a cross fire. The second is the use of the SM-2 missile. SM-2 is semi-active guidance and it would appear HMS Duncan can only guide one at a time (at least she only fires one at a time). For HMS Duncan's full potential she needs an Active guidance missile along with a shorter ranged version (maybe?). The ability to essentially track and engage multiple targets at once with accurate missiles is the staple of the Type 45. I know you are constrained atm by needing to use missiles already in DCS, these are just my observations.
  3. Concerning the HMS Duncan model, looks great! However I can spot a few things missing, particularly the FDO shack and the horizon indicator light bar above the hangar door.
  4. Maybe 2 smaller towers for the nuke version? Part of the reason was better aerodynamics over the flight deck
  5. I have trouble using the catapults, I see the AI planes use them but my jet doesn't hook up or launch with it. Any help here?
  6. I can't wait to put together a task force with this and Joey45's QE carrier!
  7. CATOBAR version has my interest, will need to find RN liveries for the E-2D though Also I wonder if the V-22 from the Military Aircraft Mod will cope with using the ramp... Edit, they don't even use it, just VTOL out of there. However they don't like start from ramp though, the spawn points are too close for them and the one that looks next in line for take-off won't taxi out, the one next to it tries but not enough space
  8. Quick Q about the V-22, how does it cope with Carriers? Edit: It doe s(so far) but something needs to be done regarding engine angle during start-up, I don't think that clipping through the deck is a good thing The aft-most Osprey on the Port side won't taxi out either. This may be an issue with the QE mod though
  9. Are the Phalanx guns meant to be silent when fired? Or is this an ED issue?

  11. I didn't see any Harriers on the QE breaking or the ramp breaking, they all went up it but had a nasty drop on the other side. All made it airborne but some got damp bellies
  12. Watching the (AI) Harriers take-off, it looks like their issue is they aren't set up properly in terms of power and nozzle position for a ramp take-off, even with the longer run they get compared to Hermes
  13. Now someone needs to get on with a statics pack, for the flight deck vehicles, personnel and some static helos too maybe, unless you were planning on doing it? Can't wait for the QE! EDIT: Didn't realise it had released! Made me very happy! How many Harriers can it take? 12 like the Hermes mod? 2nd EDIT: I worked it out, 16 on deck!
  14. The Land based LCAC, is that separate to the LCAC or is it an update?
  15. Will the Type 45 come with the Aster missiles or will that be added later?
  16. Will the Type 45 come equipped with the Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles or will that be a later thing?
  17. I can't get the SEM to link to the catapult on the Carrier, I am pressing the Ship Takeoff Position keybind but no joy
  18. Very tbh, although the later version swerves out instead of slowing down and stopping This is from a standing start
  19. The SeaCats appear to be invisible? They still aim and fire (mostly) but the model is invisible and can't be selected via F6. Also for some reason the '76 version when in a small fleet decided to slow down to a stop or not move at all upon mission start
  20. I can't remember the Aussies buying the Type 45? Looks good though. Hope it comes with a RN version along witht the RAN version
  21. We could do with some RN escorts, Type 21, 22, 23 Frigates and Type 82, 42 and 45 Destroyers to go with this and Joey's mod
  22. I could only put on 7 helos as the 4th Hip was doing a balancing act on the port side deck edge between the last 2 Hueys Also, is the limit for the Ski-Jump Hermes 12 harriers? I had 14 (1x2 and 3x4) and the other 2 Harriers were hovering off behind the stern. Cut the last flight to 2 jets and it was fine.
