It'd be nice to have some news, screenshots, information. Really anything regarding these Terrains would be nice. -

AI refuel command - AI crashes into tanker

LMFAO Well.. its progress... -
Random failures are awesome. I've been flying with them recently and it makes things a lot more interesting.

I don't think there is an HE/AP option right now. I think the choice is between default and no tracer. I imagine its coming in the future, it'd be cool to have target practice rounds like in the F-5

Operation Desert Rat - F/A-18C DCS Campaign
JayBird replied to JayBird's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I'd suggest looking under the Missions section as it's not a campaign just a single mission -
Thanks, I'll give that a try and post how it goes.

I picked up the M-2000 on the sale, but whenever I try and adjust the controls on the main menu, my game will go to a black screen once I hit okay. Any idea what I can do to fix this?
-
You could make the aircraft invisible until they takeoff
-
Awesome! I'll give that a try thank you!

Hey Guys, This question has probably been asked in the past, however I'll ask it again. I'm working on a mission in which I have you contact your wingman via the F10 menu with custom text and he responds with something along the lines of: "Okay let me pullout the checklist" What I'd like to have happen is after that message is sent (firing one trigger, using flag 1 = 10) it will wait 10-15 seconds and then send a new message with the checklist information. Is there a wait function in the editor? I'm aware of the "time is more" function, but as far as I know thats from the beginning of the mission. Any insight?

Awesome, I'll give it a shot today. Glad to hear its not an arcadey mechanic.

Operation Desert Rat - F/A-18C DCS Campaign
JayBird replied to JayBird's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Hey Oraton, glad you enjoyed the mission! Fuel can definitely be a worry which was intentional, it is possible to complete the mission without refuelling but you need to be real steady on throttle inputs on your way into the target and on the way out, which is why theres two tankers in close proximity to the AO. I've got this next week working remote for school, I'm going to do my best to have the second mission released this week . -
Thanks for the input. I'd like to try and keep from using any of the 'hacks' as much as I can, the roll wasn't awful, just a bit of an adjustment going from the Hornet with its digital flight controls to something that uses wires. I also realized that I didn't adjust the deadzone and curve on my stick which definitely had an effect.

Took my first flight last night including taxi and takeoff and she is a bit of a handful on the ground, I didn't realize it was the wheel brakes that dictate yaw on the ground. I wasnt able to find any roll trim controls in the menu, is this accurate or was I just looking in the wrong spot? I found I spent the entirety of the flight fighting to stay wings level
-
Thanks for the feedback guys, hopefully I can get my first flight in with the Kursk Monday night. I'll let you know how it goes with the rudder. Anyone have any good scenarios on the Normandy map?
-
Do you think it would be tame enough to map a throttle button to each side?
-
So I just picked up the BF 109 and have yet to fly it. Before i do I've got a couple of questions. My rudder pedals broke recently and i haven't replaced them, i saw on takeoff you are you pull the stick to the right, how frequently in normal flight is it necessary to use the rudder? How negatively effected is performance with the drop tank?

Agreed, everyone is aware of the downloadable liveries, but for multiplayer servers or downloadable campaigns they can be a bit of a nightmare. Having enough in the vanilla game is the only way to do it properly without having potential texture issues.

Heres the chart:
-
Honestly its shocking this wasn't implemented when they first introduced communications in the game.
-
It wont be out for a few more hours so I wouldn't jump to that yet. Hopefully for the beta we see a few bug fixes for the radar elevation, with stable getting the JHMCS and AGM

Operation Desert Rat - F/A-18C DCS Campaign
JayBird replied to JayBird's topic in Missions and Campaigns
No unfortunately there isnt, in all of my testing I found there was no way to necessarily failed based off the Eagles doing work at the target. Again, talking about future missions this will not always be the case. -

I guess my verbiage could be corrected a bit. You should move from the carrier to the "Marshall Stack" at waypoint 3. When there you should see the Tomcats and Eagles orbiting until their pushtimes. From waypoint 3 you should be able to follow the other aircraft in towards your target. I'll update the briefing documents for the next missions. The second mission is nearing completion, I'll have it out as soon as I can.
