  1. Forward/Aft on the wing sweep puts it into manual mode, I've had issues getting wings to cooperate, my fix is to switch the mode a few times between man, auto, and bomb and usually after you run through the three you've bent the jets arm enough to follow commands.
  2. Did an hour or so flight on the NTTR last night from a cold start, took off from Nellis and proceeded towards Beatty. Dropped JSOW and JDAM on targets. Upon return to Nellis TACAN was showing the position 30NM at 030 from the field, I'll upload a track file tonight if needed, but is this a known issue?
  3. Pretty annoying to have to sit on orbit for 4 minutes everytime you switch INS weapons. Deployed 4 x JSOW and 2x JDAM last night and spent 20 minutes and about 3,000lbs on alignment alone.
  4. As much as we may want it, it's not going to happen. Hopefully ED can step on the gas with the map development. I know I'm pretty burned out on the current map selection.
  5. Mach number is going to depend on a number of factors, so I can't tell you exact speed. Go into the editor and place the tanker at 16,000 and keep changing the speed until you find the correct Mach 0.64 is what I usually use, its fast enough that you're not stalling the aircraft, but slow enough that you can catch the tanker without burner.
  6. This is still an issue, I've found its essential to setup circling orbits around 14,000 at 25NM North of the field when landing more than one flight of aircraft, giving them charlie times split by about 120 seconds. Otherwise the AI will circle their flights, like you mentioned, and about 40% of the aircraft will be burning hulks along Muddy Mountain and Sheeps Peak
  7. Its certainly possible, not advised however. I've struggled with AAR since the hornet was released, take all of the autopilot aids out of the equation and work on doing it by hand otherwise you'll find yourself a step behind the ball as the tanker maneuvers. My recommendation is to set up a tanker at mach 0.64 at around 16,000 and keep connecting and disconnecting, you'll find the sweet spot on the throttle and continue to make small adjustments around that spot.
  8. Haven't flown the mission yet, but had to checkout the video, looks great! Keep em coming!
  9. I've seen this as well following a landing at Abu Dhabi, I still standby my statement in a blown tire with a bit of visual glitch
  10. If your wheels were halfway into the ground that sounds like a blown tire to me
  11. VFA-103 should be VF-103 if you're flying Tomcats
  12. Fyi Clara is the call you make if you dont see the ball
  13. So I did some testing, AI do not care what the winds are at, or which direction they're facing. Test 1 - AI F/A-18C - Take off from runway - Winds 210 @ 30kts Aircraft took off from 03L Landed at 21L Test 2 - AI F/A-18C - Take off from runway - Winds 030 @ 30 kts Aircraft took off from 03R Landed at 21R This is certainly intentionally set for launch and recovery from the Northeast no matter the weather. Definitely unrealistic and something that should be altered. Back on the topic of this post: On other airfields are the PAPI lights functional 100% of the time no matter wind or departing/arriving runways?
  14. I've only seen the AI utilize 03 for departing and 21 for arrivals. I have to believe that this was done intentionally. I'm not sure what recoveries look like during Red Flag but I'd imagine the fast jets would attempt to avoid overflying the city of Las Vegas when arriving in droves.
  15. It's also very WIP in this video so take that with a grain of salt
  16. Any news on this would be great. I imagine it has to be running in parallel with the Super Carrier DLC so we may not hear anything for a while longer
  17. Who knows, maybe we'll see some large ships in DCS: Supercarrier or whatever they're calling it
  18. Hmm. Pretty disappointing to hear.
  19. Will the AGM-84D Harpoon employed by the F/A-18C track, attack, and destroy the static/ambient tankers located on the Persian Gulf map?
  20. Chuck you're the man. Thank you for all of your hard work in putting this together!
  21. I don't believe DCS tankers are capable of both methods from the same aircraft at the current time.
  22. For dynamic campaign: Ability to define exclusion zones preventing AI of defined side from entering area Ability to define no fly zones which result in faction coming "alive" and attacking opposing force. This is already possible with triggers and ai set to respond
  23. More faction allegiance: Yellow: faction neutral towards both red and blue but can be set as hostile towards one or more based off triggers or parameters Purple: faction that is always neutral but may be attacked by red blue or yellow, attacking purple could trigger faction allegiance parameters like explained above. Edit: Purple would represent civilians allowing freedom of movement for their aircraft/vehicles
  24. When are we going to get some ACTUAL information from either ED or the 3rd party dev on this map?
