  1. Interesting idea, but I doubt this is possible going even beyond DCS and more into the realm of how computers identify devices (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
  2. Fair enough, just my observation and piece of constructive criticism. Providing honest and constructive feedback towards someone's work isn't what I'd really call high and mighty, he seems to be taking it like a champ: responding and benefiting. You seem to be the one getting a bit bent out of shape if anyone.
  3. Not to nitpick but looking through this article it appears extremely claustrophobic. Consider using smaller text, adding white space, or maybe some images to break it up a bit.
  4. The F-14A Heatblur is producing is not specifically targeted to replicate the Iranian Cat, as far as I know. There has been no information regarding release window for the Alpha.
  5. This should give you some direction:
  6. S-3 would be awesome, wouldn't really consider it a heavy aircraft, but certainly niche. F-105 would be my number 1 Vietnam Era net
  7. This is the most logical reason I can think of "no one would buy it" isn't true, there will always be people to buy a module. The past two years have been pretty insane for aircraft releases, Hornet, Tomcat, Viper (soon), and a number of others. Now that we have what I'd consider the core fighters, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we start to see some heavier aircraft. I don't think a C-130 is necessarily around the corner, but a Heavy WW2 fighter, or Vietnam era fighter bomber I think is quite likely in the next year or so.
  8. Based on your interpretation of "shortly" it seems to be that way yes.
  9. This. People complain about new modules being announced before other EA modules are done, but the second an aircraft is released five new threads pop up with "OMG pppppplease make X aircraft HB" Bit convoluted if you ask me...
  10. LMFAO whoops
  11. Could be stupid to ask, but does the Hornets radar even slow in DCS? I thought this was a missing feature currently.
  12. This is very intriguing, I might need to get myself a stream deck... Thanks!
  13. Oh yes, the Super Tomcat. There's certainly a ton of documentation about this totally real aircraft... You lot need to keep dreaming about the F-14D, maybe we'll see a few years after Iran scraps their Tomcats, maybe. For now, just be thankful that we have such an outstanding recreation of an actual historic jet.
  14. I've seen this as well when using dynamic weather.
  15. I've essentially added turning anti-ice on during my startup. I've never seen any adverse effect from not turning it on, I simply do it to avoid the master caution coming on.
  16. I've had Track IR 5 with Pro Clip for about three years now. I love it and would purchase it over and over again. It's easy to set up, the software allows you to set how much rotation in-game you'd like to see so its totally up to you. There are plenty of profiles out there for you to download and use as a starting point. The only real complaint I have with Track IR is the cable, I wish there was a wireless version, I've seen third party pro clips that are wireless so maybe consider buying one of those instead of the Pro Clip.

  19. This is disappointing to hear. Bear in mind I only voice my disdain because I want this map. I understand how much time the development process takes, and having a community that is as invested as DCS, with its reputation (myself included) of being pushy and impatient, sharing updates and news can only lead to further questions. But I do not believe that radio silence is the appropriate way of going about things. I appreciate you sharing news from the Russian front, I hope that soon we will have some more information to go off of...
  20. An H-5 type aircraft would be unprecedented in DCS and could hopefully pave the way for several aircraft. I know little about Chinese aircraft and I have little interest in the specific plane, but if an H-5 shows the passion in users for non-fighter aircraft than I am all for it and they'd have my money.
  21. This is it exactly, I'm not expecting them to give us an exactly release date unless it's within a few weeks, I'm just hoping to have any sort of communication regarding this project. We haven't heard anything from the third party, ED stating that release is totally up to them seems like a bit of a copout to me. We still don't have any idea what to expect from this map boundary wise, this should be pretty clear in the devs' minds at this point. Maybe the developers are more active in the Russian language section of the forums? If so it'd be great if one of the ED Translators would pass us any information from there.
  22. J-7 would be my top pick, Iran has the J-7 (F-7), we have a map with Iran. It only makes sense to me to be a top priority.
  23. This is where ED confuses me with their decision making. We have 2007 era or earlier aircraft, but maps that make no sense. Yes, the Strait is a powder keg, that is without question especially lately. But what were our jets doing in the era they're modelled around? Flying over Southern Iraq and Afghanistan. Afghanistan has been "announced" as has Syria, but we likely won't see these for a couple more years. Hopefully, this upcoming free map is something to get excited about, because, for me, PG and the Caucuses are boring, and no one seems has Nevada or Normandy, or at least wants to fly them.
  24. Appreciate that, I will post one in a few hours. I guess relating to this INS bug, during startup putting the INS to ground alignment currently does nothing correct? Previously the HSI page would run a countdown until it was aligned, but now it seems to immediately flip to OK I'm sure this is intentional due to the state of the module?
