  1. Today i will be mostly practicing the Lomcovak lol Pitch up to the 45 simultaneously roll to the left with aeileron and kick in full left rudder, then shove the stick full forward. The aeroplane should do about two full rotations before running out of energy. Neutralise all controls and the aircraft will recover with the nose down. Fly out of it and correct accordingly.
  2. i made the island skira from dragon rising a while back from Real world mesh data for arma 2. im hoping to do similar here for DCS. cheers for all the info in here too - invaluable.
  3. alpha channel is not used upon the skins, although some have it because it was set as DXT5. theoretically DXT5 is overkill and un necessary. DXT1 is actually enough. it just doesnt have an alpha associated. but looking at samage files maybe im wrong on that. and for now and for the sake of simpilicity in saving i have been saving them as dxt5,
  4. we upload them to image sharing website and add links via various methods. the image sharing services provide us with wrapped http links normally & specifically for posting on forums or other ways, (many options) for example, the image above by TurboHog is found at a web address, right click his image and goto properties and there u can see he has uploaded his image to imageshack and see the direct link where the image exists.

  6. graphically speaking if you would shrink DCS terrain down to arma size terrain. i can guarantee you an equally visual experience is possible.
  7. it works too, F10 nicey likey ! just tested as host and got jumped by far to many planes. FANTASTIC ! i must shout. can we spawn planes into their own missions ? we need a scenario that can occupy the minds of DCS:CA players too but in with & concentrated with the p51 action ! what abouts a bombing training scenario spawning some ground targets for the p51's ? 8 player versions. a version spawning bomber attacks which need defending from. sorry if im getting carried away but i like this format, want to see where it can go....

  10. thanks for positive input into the earlier comments about payware skins. blaze you say 5/10 $ ...wow im thinking, but i would not charge anywhere near that. more like a dollar per skin. actually id do it like this. make a pot, fill the pot to 50$. the skin pack be available and free for everyone. thus combating a few other issues.
  11. yep few of us have confirmed this in various areas of the forum. the canopy sounds are also bugged.
  12. i think im going to resign my thoughts to understanding that the P-51 whilst now seems not so popular, but in the future where it has complimentary effects such as other warbirds, appropriate scenery and or ww2 mission editor assets, it'll be a whole new thing. Accepted and judged a bit differently..the poll is good imo, and not actually a problem, just usefull information about the general trends and through a transitions to other radical ideas. there are many that would like to change there vote towards the p-51 in the aftermath of release and initial contributions to the poll so all is good.
  13. i know nothing of this planes existance to be honest. i do like it. when will it be in edm mode with full shader? want any help with shader tech ?
  14. whens its final version you`ll see me pop up with a few skins for download. more like an addon pack i think. not sure. btw would it be so bad to charge for something like that ? the reality is that ive put in over one hundred hours to getting to where iam. im not an amateur but i guess if i did decide to sell somthing it would recieve a lot of friction.

  16. this is far to true... and a damn shame to be honest. randoms visiting our server wondering why nobody else is flying it, it is quite depressing and lonely yet encouraging to have such a small knit community that actually flys it and wants to fly it. and just so ironic because its the most immediate hands on fun DCS ever had. its also caught between a rock and a hard place now too. so we reckon nevada is next. whats afterwards.... what ever it is it will provide discontent to one faction or the other. personally the p51 is so magnificent it needs support as a priority over any new modern jets. but that in itself is the discontent for most.
  17. i was painting my new skin (the most infuriating skin you could paint!) and thought as i do every day dcs generally looks pretty damn sweet. but painting this skin was proving to be a bit more special for some reason. the particular pictures available on google of Man o war have alot in common with the look of the sim and how i construct the metallics. so i made a quick mashup. recoloured the sky balancing the 2 backgrounds at the grey colour. grrr.. the squigley line is a ball ache lol. i edited the prop too as thats quite below par graphically alongside the real plane image with very little editing, only edited where it needed to mix. but really. this sim looks so damn good in general ! the proof-> real on the right!

  19. yeh the right hand side of the sock is a bit awkward presently. man what a ball ache, pardon the pun. placing the fences lol. back to drawing board. tailor made pens for aircraft its going to have to be.

  21. for me p51 is best. not that i need to look at the FPS in any of them. quite the opposite, i dont need to look and if that is the case then there is no fps problems (for me) unless i put mirrors on (GF670) then it all falls apart at the seems. the a10 and Ka50 were designed under different circumstances and dont share alot of commonality with the p51s design infrastructure imho. one one hand the p51 is more simpler, yet calling on more visualy aesthetic shaders. but are we talking cockpit internal frame rates or external viewing frame rates ???? iam really surprised that some have worse fps with the p51 given the lack of mfd`s etc but i feel the answer lies in the materials used on the model and wether one`s grapyhics card allows such powerfull shaders, its not used to doing it with the a10 and ka50. texture memory is being used more extensivly at a local level with the p51 especially for external viewing.
