people just dont want to learn things these days whats up with learning a little russian. i find it fascinating. i find the decision to maintain authenticity of paramount importance. its a talking point actually. and just a very little thing that stands them out from the crowd. keep up that authenticity thanks! and the fact there is a mod to change it makes the whole discussion mute.

thanks for the heads up on how to snap roll last night. great to fly online with you. the snap rolls are too much fun. trying the climbing flat spin makes sense now in how to execute it but still cant stop the bird from righting itself half way through the move. any tips there ? and at what stage do you drop the manifold?

lol now now wolfy !. this wouldnt suit my metallic style tbh.

im working on few extra models for display shows of the air variety, presently we have a windsock ! thats it lol. but will be making fencing, bouncy castles (DCS:bouncy castle:with ragdoll physics?), hotdog stands, general tat you find at these shows. so im hoping to really provide a good airshow style video somtime with the virtual horsemen flying there route, i think the virtual airshows and fly ins could get a whole lot better in the near future if dcs has anything to do with it. hell.... airshows alone will be fantastic. with all these 3rd party addon aircraft, seeing all that ingame at once will be a sight to behold. DCS you are the star of the show. you really are. and its my bet given my expereince in DCS since lockon that when flying the p51, there isnt any more fun you really could have presently. an aircraft that feels. thats what the p51 is and the core of the sims physics potential displayed before you. everyone needs this bird. everyone. but it is a bit lonely presently !

i concur and i can prove it ! and let me show you how much fun it is! . breaking the airshow rules is best too ! but no recreating famous aircrashes ! as i seem to in my vain attempt at creating a good screeny ! lols P.S. your most welcome at the VTA server and when will we see wild bill online ? a little while later..............my imagination runs riot ! yess ! i loves it too. combat is the last chapter for me and this bird. a combat sim where you cant get your fill without combat. thats a proper sim!

thanks folks, @ hungaro, i think emphasis on the clean polish with a touch of the weathering is the way, but really thanks for that post, its put things into persepctive somewhat seeing them both together like that. at most i can have a range of new to old planes. at least i can have the polished style with just a hint of the effects from the non polished to get a more correct balance. edit: and the result. 1 finished plane. with the technique fully mastered, \o/ now i can stop boring you lot.

670 with 2meg onboard is what i run. runs nice. 680 is marginally better. but has better memory options, (better for sli & triple screens), not worth the expense on single screen imo. more reasons to get 600 series over 500 series that are not graphic related but power related. unless you really couldnt afford it dont go back on the tech ladder for graphics.

thats a good artist not a trick IMHO. however theres another question thats begging. what could i do at 4096..... better rivet heads and scratches and panel lines, thats about it, not worth it unless iam twice as close to the object theoreticaly. but it would always help. and btw i dont always agree about the fundamentals of re scaling, sometimes its very beneficial for working with that fine detail. i dont seem to loose any detail in re scaling.... the end result is my priority and my familiarisation with pixel art has led me far in terms of special effects within DCS, which besides my art abbility its the special effects that drive me. the diffuse as ive mentioned before isnt what is doing the work mainly, its doing 1/5th of the work. composition is my skill mainly.

i know. i was aprehensive about posting the suggestion. but i went for it. lol sometimes folks are to busy to R-Shift-P i cant for the life of me remeber modding them or cause a situation. so i just thought id throw that out there. i have pilot_p51.dds present within the P51.zip un modded. only thing i can think of is possible that ive added the ww2 helmet to some description.lua livery files. is it lookinf for un announced texture possibly? not savy on these internal workings yet. edit, had a look at the latest pilot dds, its changed quite a lot i see. anyone else got missing textures in the cockpit view of pilot?
-
on the subject in p51 i have no pilot textures when in flight. ok upon ejection.

watching again, have you put some YT effects on it ?, doesnt look as good imo

weathered metal is coming along nice, soon itll be down to a proper vintage look.:smilewink: looks great from a bit of distance too. all dynamic btw  this was just a tiger meet idea test with the weathered stuff. not sure i like it at all. love the wings though, very similar to a few photos i have.

yes, any external voice comms such as teamspeak or ventrillo.

definetly not a must have, but heres my shameless plug at my cockpit textures mod. edit: idiot iam, just realised you dont have the p51. doh:doh: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88357

animations in progress. Goals, 3 options. 1 considered accomplished. my ultimate goal is to learn it myself. through some key information if possible. ultimate goal = 1 windsock that reads from the wind ingame and reacts accordingly. (implementation to dcs required.) or models with basic animation. non reactive to wind differences set in ME.(implementation to DCS required) or static model with 1 frame taken from animation.(considered accomplished)
-
i got my modellor guy on it at the mo, not sure about the outcome. with some minor attention it looks even better. wind force 0-5 (lol this picture illustrates a heavy gust in DCS. honestly:doh:) its actually a very nice object to learn from, animations possibilities, then internally lighted socks, and externally lighted socks. and ofcourse the implementation to directly reflect changes in weather. but im not getting carried away just yet. but of all the wonderfully dynamic objects out there this is the one to work on and go forward with via the learning required :)

its a mission editor assett. and sadly i must let you down, its static and doesnt not move to the wind. but i have 6 models pertaining to different wind strengths and inline with the beufort wind scale, my sock can represent any windforce from 0m/s upto 8/ms which the flag flies horizontal at(force 0-5). so its realstic representation of the real world wind factors. but regards moving it. fact of the matter is, you glance at the sock, and take your information from it, then thats probally the last you see of it. its not in a position to be seen constantly really. so animating it whilst very cool. might even be a touch to much. but i am making up exscuses.... it can be placed anywhere on the map. if anyone would like to help change that animated aspect it would be appreciated, get in touch please. hope an sdk helps me more in the future. model viewer seems to want to load a lua (for) some animation file or so, any tips? pm me.
