re the grass real easy to do. dont thank me for that, its actually the laziest piece of work ive done for along time, but i figured that the stylisation could be made better, having clumps everywhere just isnt good. so i took one of the small lil textures, repeated it all over the other variations and voila. with a bit of variation it might look good, with some art attention from me, itll look like a photo hopefully , everything else is getting that way it seem.:) im sure there are better botanically minded folks than me though. DCS has given me a window into my digital art that i once had elsewhere & lost, i crave the multitude of possibilites and DCS provides now. it didnt used to. big thanks once again for all the changes and adaptations and for just getting to these levels. so... the ingame crowd model is looking good so far ? from what i can gather its getting some programmed LOD (levelofdetail) attention too, so it should look pretty good when its final. i can tell you that its not a strain on performance, nor is the grass, although the grass could be perofrmance unfriendly and photographic quality.hehehehe. if mip mapping works on the grass by default i could do some very special stuff indeed. i once through detailed mip map editing applied a convincing effect known as atmospheric scattering.

ground handling and takeoff after patch...
Ali Fish replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
its easier. feels to easy, but maybe thats because it was hard before (not too hard though) better for newcomers to the series IMO, if it were deemed unrealisticly easy, later they could update it. but its good for now. -
Superb looking landscape. love the new aircraft hangers too btw (not in shot) ps, id very much like to be a fireman in c.a for my server so i can put out the fire wreckages and make constant debris collection with a big yellow bulldozer and generally keep my airfield tidy. :) lolz, seriously now. where my caterpillar !! it could sit nicely on the left there. patiently waiting for those new to the series. And if they have combined arms, they can clean their own mess up before they fly again ! yes it would be just like street cleaning simulator, appropriate punishment and encouragment to learn the planes good & proper. ! l

may i mention in 1.2.0 that any trim adjustment does not get shown on the controls indicator when on the ground, it seems fine when airborne.

GM is a level of interactivity in the world where forces are concerned. Game Master. Can observe and play as JTAC and control ground units for both sides. The Game Master can view all units. As a Game Master, you can dynamically alter the ground war during the mission. Note 1: Although there are both Red and Blue side Game Master roles, both sides act the exact same and both control units from both sides. Note 2: For Head-to-Head multiplayer matches, it is best not to enable any Game Master roles. Ground Force Command (CM). Can strategically control ground units in the battlefield. This includes indirect fire systems like artillery and multiple rocket launcher systems. Also has First Person vehicle control, including JTAC capability. JTAC. Has First Person vehicle control, including JTAC capability, does not have strategic control over ground units. Observer. Cannot play as JTAC or control ground units, but has unlimited camera access to observe the action.

ive noticed it very slightly in the p51 also. but i think it was working correctly.

ive bought it and installed but not tried yet, too busy with the p51 updates lol. i really like the idea of the games master spots. and the varying levels of participation. from simple observer right upto games master. this is epic, but maybe i see it wrong. the way i see it, its like having live missions. a real commander. what limitations there im not sure. but i cant wait to delve into it, at a modernish conceptual level. give them cockpits and "wow" i think it could have gone one step further than a dynamic campaign. or indeed it is a dynamic campaign of sorts. or am i wrong. all that triggering and mission scripting. that hassle is now a playable hassle lol ! what wonderfull stuff.

we can remove this thread now i believe.

smooth, no need to ever look at the fps with everything maxed out and the fxaa tweaks.. thats how these things were designed to run. just a shame it doesnt happen till a few years down the line. but never the less nice to go back to things for performance reasons. still doubtfull, but i was going to try fsx with the 670.
