summer grass mod & wind sock add-on wip.. And the fabulous fire & smoke mod too ! essential for this test :), gives the notion of the unfinished wind sock some credability given its angle lol. it is loosly based on the parameters of the L-807/808 wind sock in respects to its height and sock dimensions, but its style is that from a picture i quite liked. (got this pdf file with some info) looks more like a plant pot presently .ha.

id rather be playing a modern sim paying homage to the warbird than stuck in ww2 with it. yet people dont see that as a fascinating aspect. warbirds in a non ww2 setting, its as equally as brilliant. and more importantly a more truer simulator for today. id rather be paying respects to these birds than suffering the 1940`s in a vain attempt at arguing past history lol. DCS is just not that way inclined thankfully. "study" sim remember ! hurry that new scenery up ! behind all these comments people are a bit tired of the scenery we presently fly in and are subconsciously demonstrating that.

why payware. not sure it made sense at the time. i guess i could say free ventrillo ?, free teamspeak ? mostly just a serious simulated radio system that takes voip just a bit further to like proper radio comms with the relevant interactivity.
-
i made a wish list post pertaining to a seperate payware module simply for radios over the whole dcs system and its players.

welcome PDM. buggier than CLOD is simply not possible ! try the cheat start function, have some fun, understand this is actually a brilliant simulation module that is still in "BETA". but please constructivly report issues you are having. upload tracks of your problem is good idea too. please save the track file and upload here as an attachment. and the community will dive in and help you out. through the track file we can view your exact game experience you had, and work out what went wrong. personally ive been trying to blow the engine up, but cant seem to do it. your track may help !

ground handling and takeoff after patch...
Ali Fish replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
wish i had two female volunteers to test my handling  agreed on the expereince thing ! and anticipation. i notice that taxxing without the stick back is nice now too, unless your not concentrating on it ofcourse. i can make better turns now when i maye need to unlock the rear. i think. the bird appears to feels heavy more on the ground i think too. i can really chuck it round the taxiway if that makes sense, but we were all on tip toes before. i know its not heavier. but its more convincing to taxi around. under what situation or conditions would the pilot unlock the restricition on the rear wheel btw ? this is somthiong thats not clear to me. and the question comes from the fact that i never seem to need to really. or iam holding the stick back too much. that maybe because of the last patch handling characteristics though, anyway your a legend yoyo. -
the handbrake got me initially.(H) then it was the gears,(Z,X) then it was removing autopilot.© Only then could i traverse the scenery.(W,S,A,D) and after that i could shoot guns(Space) then i shot different guns(E) and used (Enter) to Target Guided Missiles. but i agree somewhat, maybe DCS world should have a short manual explaining a few things that naturally aircraft users are already aware of. There is an element of simplicity to the manual that forgets few aspects. that being - most users initial understanding of the sim and the UI is already there. but not so for anyone else. add the written aspects of the ME, tuned for C.A to the C.A. manual might be a good idea.

just...... sturmovik it, only russian plane iam genuinly fond of. and a good opportunity to get a second seat in DCS working in a more simpler format.

Why should i get Combined Arms? I need a bit of convincing!
Ali Fish replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
so the steam sale holds value up against this DCS goodness ? get you priorities right man !<joke> but seriously. that stuff will last you a month or two. this is the future battlefield right before you. spend wisely ! i did just purchase portal 2 for a few quids. -
i doo, i doo. pretty much the same with motor racing simulators.

butt kickers still work of the sounds? or is there any deeper programming going on ?

for this bird im sad i opted for the warthog. overall i think it good choice but i do envy that FF in conjunction with the subtle shakes it would be just brilliant. shakes - i want more. not from the engine vibrations, but in general flight with buffeting, i want more finely tuned alterations going on. i really want to feel the flight. questionably unrealistic is what i ask for but i believe there are things that should be enhanced because of the limitations of our perceptions by being in simulators.

i had this with the last patch if i tuned the cockpit and helmet sounds to be a bit lower than 100%, putting it back up did solve it before latest patch and well now ive no had issue since "not" moving the volume sliders. i shall go test if i can replicate it. EDIT: i CAN NOT replicate the bug as before, but i have found that the cannopy open/close sound is pausing the engine sounds upon opening and closing that cannopy, for me the sound is coming back ok. there have been times when it has not though. but it used to click back in when pushing the manifold pressure.

i think this cockpit shake it trully fantastic. with proper attention to detail. seeing the main panel shake in an independant nature is sweet ! And thanks for understanding proper shaking, not from the head.

ive no idea what it is about the hind helicopter, when that thing faces you it gives me the creeps, when its shooting you direct, and u can see it coming towards you man that is the most menacing thing ive seen in the skies. wont forget that first encounter in CA, trullly inspiring even at its crude level.

nice one rock. im getting the passion for combat now. stick a few anti air vehicles at the strip so i can shoot at you guys for being too good ! or if you need to some airshow smoke i could pop a hole out each wing if you like !

TMS Warthog - Tips to smooth stick motion
Ali Fish replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
it doesnt get better than this ^ i did this couple of weeks ago, and well im used to it now, and wouldnt want to go back to anything else. -
so me and a few buddies tried this CA out, very pleasantly suprised indeed. providing a different sence of scale to the environment i found myself quite liking what ive always thought to be very basic scenery, the peaks and troughs are just excellent in reality, whilst its quite crude, i definetly enjoyed my first swaray. it will be a blast to get the logitics together and really perform some strategies with others and create that more dynamic an environment. some CA users in a basic dogfight server would be nice to stop the vultures around the home fields \o/
