[Suggestion] Move LS-6 to Bombs section, not missiles
Terrorban replied to zippoa's topic in JF-17 Thunder
I agree. If these bombs are able to be intercepted by ground defences in real life then we should leave it like that and not make it equal to the poor implementation of their NATO weapon counterpart. This is something ED should look into doing for their modules. I admire Dekas attempts for realism and they should stick with making the weapons most realistic as possible. I am always against the idea of balancing for the sake of gameplay or how the other devs have modeled or implemented their features. -
Full fidelity Russian as next module?
Terrorban replied to carss's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I suppose FC3 level is better than nothing. Care to share where they discussed this? I am definitely interested. -
[INVESTIGATE] Potential Bug: LS6/GB6 Tandem and Side by side
Terrorban replied to LastRifleRound's topic in Fixed Bugs
What are you talking about? have you never rippled bombs or used glide munitions on same target (area) before? Well I guess you havent since you said it is pointless. There is nothing wrong with weapons flying close, unless they collide with each other in the air which happens if you do not set your program properly. -
Full fidelity Russian as next module?

Well, their response on the J-15 is in this thread. J-15? -
SD-10 at mach 4.5 and still M2.5 over a minute later?!
Terrorban replied to Smokin Hole's topic in Bugs and Problems
SD-10 is facing the same difficulties which the AIM-54 is facing. That is the limitation of the Missile API which can only be upgraded by ED. The developers can only tweak certain values to make the missile behave through that API. ED has said that they will be releasing an updated API "soon". Once that is out, almost all of the missiles will be updated to use it. Currently, even the AIM-120 is not modeled accurately. According to Deka, their SD-10 has far more advanced research done behind it but the developers cannot simulate everything because of the restrictions so they made it the closest to the real behaviour which can be achieved within current DCS build. Now all we can do is wait on ED to deliver so the missiles in general can be simulated properly. -
Full fidelity Russian as next module?
Terrorban replied to carss's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Sorry buddy, but Deka have already mentioned that they will/can not develop anything that is currently being used by the Chinese airforce. Something to do with how strict the airforce is about showing off their current tech. -
Yeah, you are right. While good to have, I doubt the HMD will be added into this module anytime soon.
-
I understand your frustration but cannot agree with your reasoning. The best bet you might have is to request someone to mod it in for you instead of expecting the developers to tweak the simulation. Most people here spend weeks debating if functions on this simulator are reaslistic enough when compared with the actual thing. You are asking for the opposite so you can see from the responses that this is probably not the best place or software for these kinds of questions and arguements. Calling it a game wont change the fact that this is a game within the "simulation" category and its main selling point is the incredible level of detail when compared with the real aircrafts. These are 3RD Party Developers so if one does something for the sake of gameplay, please do not expect that all the other developers will follow through with that rule. I have seen people talk that the developers will eventually add another radio into this jet but so far I did not find any official statement so not sure about the validity of that information. I guess we will find out when they discuss the AAR function. I hope this helps and wish you a nice time flying.

Wow, I see you are dead set on simply enforcing your point by providing outlandish reasonings. You clearly did not read what I said or understood properly. And no, for the sake of accuracy, if the actual in service jet does not have it, there is no reason to add it right now. Is that a fact? Now see, this is what I meant in previous comment about enemy using magic all seeing radar. In what perfect world will they have datalink or AWACS which will pick up all the air threats? Maybe jammers are just there to look pretty on these jets. Yeah that statement will probably work in some Hollywood movie maybe. It was never about rushing into close combat, it is when you end up in it. At that point, it will be very useful if the jet has HMD built in. The defending side does not have the luxury of turning and running away all the time. By your logic, the NATO and Russians should just stop adding them into their jets because they know how strong their BVR is and assume enemy will just run away or die. Anyways, you have clearly stated your reasoning for why you do not see the importance of HMD in JF-17. I do not have to agree with it, but I will respect it.
-
So you are saying it is pointless to have it because you play in some crowded server where people are spamming BVR missiles? There are also servers in DCS that are dedicated to dogfighting. Still, it does not explain why you think HMD wont benefit because enemy has better BVR capabilities. Currently, the JF-17 can really hold its own in dogfights against all the DCS modules so having HMD will only compliment that. Regarding you saying it is pointless because enemy will always BVR you, well that is totally up to your own personal experience. Unless the nato in DCS are using some magic all seeing Radars, there are many ways to approach and engage them in close range. In my experience, there have been many times where we exchange missiles and dodge them until we merge for close combat. It completely depends on the situation and approach. I personally do not believe that BVR combat in DCS is any stronger than close range encounters. Regarding HMD implementaion into this module, I would like they add it if the Pakistani airforce ever begins using it. We do not have any evidence of that so adding it now would make it a bit fictional.

lolwut? I think you are referring to the HMD feature which is not yet available in the JF-17? I would also love to have it. There are so many benefits of being able to see my HUD while looking around, especially in combat or when making dangerous maneuvers. It is not a matter of how many times you get in close range but more about when you are in close range. Ability to keep your eyes on the enemy aircraft at all times while being able to read your HUD and lock targets is very handy. Another benefit is to lock the enemy up before you have clear shot at them, this way when they are in position, you dont have to wait on Radar ACM to lock them up in a short time window of opportunity you are given. Now if you turn and run each time someone fires an AMRAAM at you, good luck because there will be many more afterwards and chances are, at low ground you will be forced into close combat eventually. I can go on and on about why it is so useful but I hope you get the idea of how much of a big deal this feature is.

I do appreciate all the trivia and opinions here but did the developers acknowledge yet that there is indeed a problem with SD-10 not showing up on its target's RWR until it is few seconds away? Before JF-17 I used to fly a lot in Hornet and there have been many times where I blew up without any response from my RWR. I always took it as pilot error. Now if I remember correctly, RWR does not surround the jet, it has blind spots. There have been many discussions like this back when Hornet was released and people who were getting shot down with the AIM-120 were making similar arguements.

Does Heatblur have a roadmap for potential future modules?
Terrorban replied to MobiSev's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Lets be honest here. We should not expect any new module from Heatblur for another 3 to 4 years. I honestly do not even know what state DCS will be by then after the new flight simulator is released. -
Any chance to have a more detailled flight manual ?
Terrorban replied to Racoon76's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Yeah, I understand that however the module itself it not really complete until Deka have updated the current and added further features so I doubt anyone can master it yet. It will probably make more sense to have the aircraft manual complete once all the features are functioning to avoid further confusion. I suppose these guys want to learn things by the actual airforce standard, maybe for roleplay purpose. There might be some who want accurate information to create missions. This is why is was curious what type of crowd would benefit from the complete manual at this stage when there are so many tutorials and guides available online. -
SD-10 at mach 4.5 and still M2.5 over a minute later?!
Terrorban replied to Smokin Hole's topic in Bugs and Problems
Mate, this sounds more like a complaint than a report. I don't think you should post it here unless you have some proof that you got killed with a bug, and no I don't mean hornet. -
Maybe this is a VR issue because, I have never experienced this and I use these rockets quite a bit. See if it also happens out of VR because nobody else has ever reported this issue here before you I believe.

Does it happen randomly at times when you try startup or are you permanently grounded at all times with dead engine?

Any chance to have a more detailled flight manual ?
Terrorban replied to Racoon76's topic in JF-17 Thunder
What specifically are you guys looking for when asking for a complete detailed manual? Not saying that there is anything wrong with asking for it but I am curious because the jet is not really difficult to operate at all and there are a lot of better tutorials already available. Plus if we look at some of the other manuals, I doubt it will explain things any easier than non official guides and tutorials. Chuck's Guide is pretty much written like a games manual rather than an actual aircraft manual so it is better to read and understand for the end user. -
Wasn’t this thread on sticky until recently or am I just imagining things?
-
I don’t even request for ground power. The better should already be charged for a first startup on a freshly spawned jet. At least it works like that since launch.
-
Hmm I have been using the 802AK against the ships in GAW server and they get absolutely spammed by defensive missiles from the fleet so not sure what the problem here actually is. I have not used the AKG version yet since I have not been in a scenario yet where it would be useful in DCS.

You enjoy making pointless posts don’t you? Try reddit.

Since I see you suddenly become very active and speak on Deka’s behalf so often, are you one of the developers or associated with the developers in any way? Sorry I ask because you provide statements regarding the jets bug posts and development process by I see no 3rd party Developer tag under your name so not sure to take your answers as official response or just informed guesswork.
-
Calling it broken while not providing any supporting documents for the developers to look at does not really help. Just saying it does not work and to trust you wont help them pinpoint the problem. On onther note, it is like everyone else have said, the RWR in MP is not the most reliable thing right now. They mess up with a lot of modules. The SD-10 uses same missile API which other ED modules use so if there is a problem with one missile, it is likely present in others as well.

Yeah, I like this idea. However discord servers are tend to be full of those anime watching trolls if they are not moderated properly so not sure if Deka have the manpower to police the server at all times.
