Disable operator pilot hody while keeping pilot body visible?
RazorbackNL replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: UH-1H
It would be even more great if the changes you make regarding showing or hiding a pilot also is visible from an outside view -
While in anticipation of the 1.2.16 update nothing seems to be have done about the non-working remaining 5 panel light rheostats. Come on BST, what is the problem here? Only have to make a perfect module even more perfect. Since the official Textron label was put on the Huey module, isn't it strange that this imperfection still hasn't been fixed? You obviously had a lot of practise with the F-86 and MiG-15, both of which seem to have perfect working independent rheostats. Please BST, make us proud and please give the Huey module what it deserves, working rheostats. Please?

I think you are trying to modify the wrong file. Check in your \[user name]\dcs saved game\config\view folder and modify that View.lua file At the bottom of each aircraft section is a part called something like Default. That is the part you need to change to make it work.

I realy don't understand what is wrong with just flying circles with utility helicopters which obviously got a lot of TLC by their creators. It is just a fact that this is propably the closest way for me (and I bet a lot of others) to experience what it is like to fly a helicopter. The way the systems are modeled are just amazing. I don't fly Hueys and Black Sharks and Mi-8s in real live but I can appreciate the amount of work being done just to give me a feeling for helicopter flight. It is very rewarding for me to just fly these helicopters by the book and by the numbers. I have never liked the combat aspect. I find it truly satisfying to make a perfect landing at the end of a cross country flight.

Go to the options/controls menu. Select axis commands from the list and go the FFB Tune on the bottom of the screen. Now put a check on the Swap Axis option. All should be fine now. Also make sure you have checked the FFB option in the Misc menu.

I did a full uninstall of all my mods and ran the Repair DCS World. Unfortunately it did not cure the problem.

I can confirm this.

Go to the Bazar\Effects\PFX folder. In there you will see a high, medium and low folder. Within each folder rename of remove the smokecloud.pfx file. After each update these files are restored to there original name, so you have to redo this action every time after an update.

It indeed takes a lot of collective to get the Huey light on the skids. If you use the axis indicator (rtrl + enter) you will see you need about 2/3 of the collective range to get her to lift off. This equals to approximatly 30psi on the torque meter. This is not a fault on your joystick configuration. Personally I am not a fan of curving the joystick axis. Because the Huey needs dellicate but constant controls corrections you are probably better off leaving all axis curvature on default. When you are side slipping backwards apparently you are using to much cyclic. Use very small corrections on the joystick. Try not to look close in front of your aircraft while hovering. Pick a spot futher away in front of the helicopter which will make you notice attitude changes way earlier. Needless to say it will take a lot of practise to make her to hover where you want her to hover.

The Mi-8 is still in beta and a lot of systems still need some fine tuning. Hopefully one day BST will surprise us with a working fan.

Nothing clickable in cockpit
RazorbackNL replied to tommytank's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I am glad you worked it out. Weird though that you can't use full screen. I use it all the time and it doesn't have any effect on the mouse behaviour. Do you have a multi screen setup? -

RazorbackNL replied to tommytank's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Did you try to use the repair function? First uninstall all your mods if you use any. If the repair doesn't work you could try to completely delete your input config files. They are located at your c:\users\[user name]\saved games\dcs\config\input\[module name]. Make a backup of these first to be sure. DCS World will create new default input files when you restart the program. -

Once you are in the cockpit, do you see the yellow mouse cursor? Is your cockpit view movable with the mouse? Try double clicking the middle mouse button and see what happens. -
Go to the Module Manager within the start screen of DCS. Go to Installed and just uncheck the modules you want to deactivate.

Hi all, I was wondering if someone could help me out with 2 scripts I would like to use for mp hosting? I am looking for a script with which I can create messages for clients upon entering their aircraft, saying TeamSpeak is online and ready to be used. I am also looking for a script which is being used on the Virtual Aerobatic server, where a client can create his own slingload with the help of the radio menu. I don't have the slightest idea how to create these scripts so if anybody could help me it would be really appriciated. Thanks in advance, Razorback

Awesome vid mate. Good flying.

The only reason I can think of right now, is because there has been a change in the file path tree but that happened already a few patched ago. Did you had the mod running just before the last patch or did you install it after the last patch? You can check the file path tree just to be surtain. It should be /mods/aircraft/mi-8mtv2. That is aircraft without an extra s on the end!

Did you open up port 10308 on your work wifi? I am not a computer guru, but that is what made it possible for me to host mp sessions on my network.

If you are refering tho the original sound, I did not encounter the problem you were mentioning. If you are talking about sound mods, make sure you use the correct install path. After the last updates, a small change was being made to the DCS World file path.

Hi Cib, as long as we both use the same custom skin in the same original skin folder we will indeed see each other. There are so much beautiful skins out there, it would be a shame if we did not used them.

Hi all, Got a little bored with the standard skins used in MP servers. What I did: For example: custom UH-1H skin to be used on the Virtual Aerobatics server. 1) Make sure you know what skins are being used on the server. 2) Make a copy of the original skin. 3) Now you will have ie. US Navy and US Navy.copy. 3a) Clear the content in the original skin, in this case US Navy 4) Copy the content from your custom skin you want to use on the server into the skin folder used by the server, ie. in this case US Navy. 5) When you select the US Navy skin inside the server aircraft menu you will see your own private custom skin while anyone else will still see it as the US Navy. It is nice to be able to use a skin of your choice in a mp session. Enjoy Razorback
