Just to clarify, @Flappie doesn't work for ED and doesn't get paid for all the hard volunteer work he does on these forums trying to help folks. I can only take his question at honest face value, trying to see if there are any specific problems which he might happen know if they are already known/unknown/being worked on/unreported etc. Thanks for your efforts Flap! And Happy Holidays All.

Awesome! Installed and ready to go. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ... is going to be hot and shitty with continued hot and shitty in the afternoon. Tomorrow a chance of continued crappy with a pissy weather front coming down from the north. Basically, it's hotter than a snake's ass in a wagon rut. Can't wait! Now ... how to get rid of the family... You are able to make these excellent campaigns faster than I can finish playing them. Congrats and thanks for your hard work! Happy Holidays

As above. No question. Congrats and thanks for your work!

Mission 2 fuel truck blocking wingmen
wowbagger replied to wowbagger's topic in A-10C Operation Persian Freedom Campaign
Yes, you are totally correct! My bad, apologies for the mis-fire. I realize now I got confused by the weird delayed spawn of the other active warthogs. Also, if this mission is a product of your nascent editor skills, I can't wait to see your next campaign! (although I'm really not a Hornet guy ). -
Hey, I've just started OPF and am extremely impressed with the sense of immersion and level of detail. The briefings are excellent and the mission design and scope feels like some of best ever made for DCS. Your implementation of the comms is also well thought out and works very well. Seriously well done! One little suggestion - going forwards, please consider not locking out external views. There is absolutely no need or justification to force view limitations or label limitations on players. They don't have to use them, but should be able to if desired. Everyone plays the game differently, has different hardware, and different physical abilities - DCS should be left as open as possible for all to enjoy it the way they want. You have created an amazing environment in your missions; I have wanted to see up close the B1s taking off or watch the Eagles taxiing in the twilight. One of DCS strengths is the cinematic quality of the visuals. Being locked inside my cockpit and only watch these things as distant pixels or only able to circumambulate my own A-10 has been frustrating. Anyway, just a suggestion. Can't wait to get back into the next missions (takes me a while to find a block of free time large enough to do the missions justice). Cheers

My mistake, because of the post above mine I was under the impression that latest manual was on discord, but not here. (There has been a precedent of information being posted to discord, but not here in the past). After double checking, I see that this is not the case. Sorry for the mistake on my part.

Edit : (disregard, my mistake) Wish the official forums could be used as intended. Multiple sources for this kind of thing is pointless, and slightly frustrating.

I sure will be. I ain't no senator's son. So looking forwards to this one.

+1 But I think having an optional input curve for better use with non-force sensing sticks is completely reasonable and makes all the sense in the world.

This ... Sounds ... Awesome! I'm utterly champing at the bit to be able to get back into the warbirds' campaigns. Looking very much forwards to terrorizing those continental squirrels. Thank you once again for both plugging away at making sure the needed changes arrived and for all your effort in redoing all your campaigns (again). And thanks to the clever lasses and lads at ED for getting the FLAK sorted and significantly improved. Cannot wait. Cheers!

Open Season - Mi-24P Dynamic Persistent Campaign
wowbagger replied to ataribaby's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Classy. -
Thanks, we really appreciate you guys keeping these things functional time after time, after so much time. Cheers!

I find some of the Deployment missions aren't a totally fantastic fit for the Mi-24 (might be better suited to the Apache when it arrives), but some are definitely enjoyable and fun. I haven't tried the UN campaign yet, because I don't think I can stand Pedro's abuse for a second time around. Anyone who has the Mi-8 can also enjoy the Spring Tension campaign with the Hind. I converted the campaign and just played through the first mission without issue - lots of fun. Not sure if there are any mission breakers yet (for instance, decreased cargo capacity, etc), but should be easily fixed if they arise. I never played Spring Tension with the Magnificent Eight (the bus was never really my cup of водка) so it's quite fun to do so now with the Mi-24 (which is freaking awesome).

The Big Show - Channel map update
wowbagger replied to Reflected's topic in Spitfire LF Mk.IX The Big Show Campaign
Wanted to say thanks for the snow, and for the additional cmp file! Makes each update that much easier for us. Excellent. -
Thanks for these fixes. I know Missions 10 & 11 have been mentioned, but just an FYI, I experienced the same - wingman not moving from parking - issue in Mission 9.

"Hey everyone..." Huge thanks for this massive trove of awesomeness!

Thanks for the update. Anxiously excited to see what you come up with! Stay well.

Sorry for the confusion - I wouldn't use the words 'zero effort' to characterize your efforts on the forums either, and I didn't. We are talking about a very specific issue here, and the way the developer has dealt with the issue thus far. You shouldn't take my words out of context. I spent some time trying to figure out how to make the Harrier's visor work and see if there was something I was doing wrong. Afterwards I came to the forum to find out the feature couldn't be made to work properly so it had simply been removed, without any changes made to the control setup, or even an announcement by the developer on this forum that I could find (I don't frequent the Razbam discord, whatever and wherever that is). Razbam's representative simply labelled the non-working visor as Resolved and As Intended . It was only BigNewy who eventually stepped in to clarify that feature was being removed. But since there is no way to learn that without searching the forum, I made a suggestion that to help clarify the situation to new users so they wouldn't have the same frustration and wasted time that I had. To be frank, the original response I got felt a lot like "nah, it's fine as it is". Honestly, the visor is a non-issue, which I almost certainly wouldn't use anyway. But I would definitely characterize the way the developer has dealt with it (at least from a customer's perspective) as zero effort. For what it's worth, in my opinion, you and @myHelljumper have done a fantastic job on these forums and are easily, easily the best things to happen to the Razbam DCS forums since I joined here. Please keep up the great work.

If zero effort is what we are aiming for here, then changing the control name to: Helmet Visor (cosmetic only)/NVG Toggle would remove confusion and ambiguity for people who spend their time trying to learn the module instead of haunting the AV-8B N/A >Problems and Bugs forum, and only takes 15 keystrokes, which is as near zero effort as makes no difference. The single mention of the visor in what has thus far been released of the manual is:
-
In this case, can we please change the control assignments? They should reflect the current state of the module (DCS can already be confusing enough as it is.) Cheers

Good stuff. Thanks.

Thanks for this tip. I have all the Vaicom plugins and Vaicom itself is a wonderful game changer. That said, I always leave AIRIO disabled. For me there are too many verbal commands to commit to memory and the Jester Wheel serves as very useful and organized way of reminding me of the command options, and helps me find what I need, when I need it. Having the cockpit disappear with every Jester options interaction destroys the experience, so I leave AIRIO off. I was under the impression that having to choose one vs the other was the result of a technical limitation, rather than a design decision. Being able to use both fully would be a fantastic best-of-all-worlds situation which would maximize Tomcat effectiveness and immersion.

"Sea Flea -- Mission One" UH-1 (Single/2 Player mission)
wowbagger replied to cfrag's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Looks great. Thanks!
