  1. The VPC kneeboard works in every other plane, but for some reason has stopped working in the Tomcat for me. It just shows a dark grey blank page. Things I have tried: - remove all mods - full repair with remove extra files (twice) - reset lua - reinstall Vaicom Pro completely (including deleting all it's files in Saved Games and in DCS install) - reset install location in registry using Vaicom control panel - delete other kneeboard images from the Tomcat folder - delete the weird scripts folder that Vaicom creates in c:/ I still get this: I'm out of ideas and going to give up, but I wanted to make sure it's working for everyone else ... just to add to my sense of frustration.
  2. Has anyone found a keybind for Jester Stop/Start talking which could be added with Quaggle's? Sometimes in the middle of a fight he's a real PIA telling me what to do. "I will fire when I'm (expletive) good and ready! You got that? " Opening up the menu in the middle of a dogfight isn't really feasible. Cheers
  3. Thanks much for the update.
  4. I'm in the exact same position. First campaign I ever bought. Kept putting off learning the Mirage while Razbam tinkered. Now wondering the same thing.
  5. Oh, that's a very good point. I wonder if Heatblur could help them get 2.0 integrated, now that it's community driven. Fantastic bunch of people keeping it alive and improving.
  6. Oh, is it? I didn't realize that. In manual it says: I couldn't find any mention of the Gun Trigger in the manual. Edit: I just tested it with the gun and it seems to behave exactly the same as MiCRoB/Trigger 2nd Stage. Didn't test it with any other ordinance.
  7. Perhaps, if this is unused it could be removed from the keybinds to avoid possible confusion.
  8. Agreed! Would love to see this map used with the Viggen and Tomcat. It seems by far the best Cold War setting we will have in the game. Completely unenthused for yet another 21st century TGP smart bomb plinking campaign. edit: not implying anything about BD, Reflected or their previous campaigns. They are the best thing this game has going for it. My comment was aimed at the choice of aircraft and the way they seem to be inevitably employed in DCS.
  9. Agreed on all points.
  10. While I think the map looks great and runs extremely well, I am curious about this too. On mine I get : which looks pretty good to my eyes, but nothing like the trailer. I would rather see trailers show what the game actually looks like in use, not choosing a slo-mo shot at the perfect angle, at the perfect time of day, for a view that we will never see in the game. Even given those conditions, I don't see how this shot in the trailer could have been done. Edit: While my shot is further away, the closer I get the worse it looks.
  11. This problem still exists for me when I have the cursor axes mapped to joystick axes. There is no problem if the cursor axes are mapped to buttons. edit: I have enabled a deadzone on the joystick axes - doesn't affect the problem.
  12. Yep! There are a lot of assumptions made in DCS missions, which I consider something of a failing. I get it that many people want to feel like they are 'trained pilots' or whatever, and like the lingo, but I think making it easy and accessible to the novice is the far better way to improve the game for everyone. Especially in training missions. And especially since many people aren't English/Russian first language speakers.
  13. Anchor usually means just stay circling at a specific point (eg. waypoint). Not sure how it is used in these training missions though.
  14. It's probably fine if you want it for air-quake, or some other version of PvP multiplayer. If you are looking for more systems depth/completion/competence, then you might find it lacking because of bugs, unrealized parts, and a general apathy with respect to completing and maintaining the module.
  15. 2023 Basic stuff like this still non-existent. Bugs which make it difficult to figure out whats' going on (am I doing this wrong, or is the radio just borked like the other things in this module?). Campaign updates/fixes? Zero meaningful interaction from the developer. It would be a joke, if I hadn't paid for it.
  16. Or just remove it. Our eye-> mind interface doesn't work like that. It's like video games trying to do motion blur. If we look at a dark interior and then look at a bright view outside our eyes automatically need time to adjust. We don't need the game making this happen for us. It is artificial, unneeded, and in this case poorly implemented.
  17. Well, this was a while ago. I edited a file called "HUD_RWR.lua" and it worked well. However, I shelved trying to learn the Harrier when it became apparent that Razbam had moved on to other things and has very little interest in finishing the Harrier even to a point where a proper manual can be written. I just checked and they have, of course, changed the file structure and this file doesn't exist anymore. So I cannot even check which values I changed vs the original ones. There is now a file called HUD_RWR_Base.lua which you might have a look at and try modifying to get rid of the lollipops. I'm not going to dive into it since it could well change again in a matter of months. Good luck.
  18. Yep, I ended up modding them out.
  19. Yes, I've seen his video. All these arguments make sense from the creator's point of view but not the user's. I have my game set up the way I like it. Why should I be forced to play it they way some one else has decided it needs to be? I cannot understand how things like external views, map icons, and labels can break a campaign. They don't change anything except how much information the player has access to. There are already so many things wrong with the AI, bugs, UI, triggers... these player option settings can't possibly considered to be mission breakers. It's an argument that rings hollow to me.
  20. Hey Flap, Joyeuses Pâques! I checked, and I don't have the issues in the Mi-24 training mission with language, map, or mirrors. No idea what might be causing that one. I think @Trigatiis correct. The options setting simply doesn't do what it says it does. If campaign makers can override our settings, it seems a bit pointless to have this option at all. In my opinion it should work the opposite of the way it seems to. Campaign creators can set the mission options, but the user/buyer should be able to override these if they require. That way everyone gets to use the game in the way they need to. I hope this can be re-evaluated at some point soon. Until then, I'll stop buying campaigns from those who insist on imposing their preferences on the end user. In any event, thanks for yours and @Trigati's reply. Hope you are both doing well and enjoying a lovely spring. Salut - cheers, 'bagger
  21. You should be able to just save it from the mission editor. The default campaign isn't copy/write protected, so you can edit the missions with the Editor and save them directly, overwriting the originals. That should not reset your progress in the campaign which is recorded in a different file (logbook.lua) You may want to back up the original so that you don't have to run a repair if you need the original back.
  22. The "No force from mission, use mine" in the game play options doesn't seem to have any effect on campaigns. Expected: when this is checked the game will use my settings. What happens: mission enforced options are in effect. ___ Why it's important: Campaign creators are increasingly enforcing their game play preferences on campaign buyers. They dictate which kind of labels can be used, whether you can have external views, whether you can see your own forces on the map, etc. If they simply didn't enforce it then people who like to play that way can, and those who like to play differently can also enjoy the game they bought. But they do. This option, if working, would solve this issue. I used to buy as many campaigns as possible to support the creators, and have bought several modules based on the campaigns that were available for them. I have now stopped buying campaigns since I find this restrictive approach not to my liking and there is no way to know what the creators are enforcing prior to purchase. As a result ED is losing revenue, the creators are losing income, and I am losing a big part of the game I enjoy - all , in my opinion, needlessly. But since the creators insist on enforcing these restrictions despite many of us asking them to not do so, it would be great if this option actually did what it says on the tin. Cheers
  23. Oh, I hope it stays like this. I love the fan ... but it definitely limits the view. Would not mind having the blades disappear ... so I guess I don't love it as much as I thought.
  24. It could be that the mission designer has forced labels off . In that case there is nothing you can do except edit the mission file itself. But this will get overwritten with every update. I wish that we could overide these decisions for ourselves.
